Wasatch sheriff’s deputy shoots and kills a man wanted for violating parole
Police say he threatened the deputy with a ‘blunt object.’

By Scott D. Pierce
A Wasatch County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a man who threatened him with a “blunt object” after a chase, police said.

According to the sheriff’s officer, the deputy was pursuing a the man — who had an “active no-bail warrant” out for his arrest — at about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect evaded the stop, and the deputy pursued him until the suspect crashed his vehicle on Bench Creek Road in Wasatch County.

According to police, the suspect got out of his vehicle and “advanced toward the deputy, wielding a large, blunt object.”

IMPD: Suspect in police shooting reached for gun

by: Adam Pinsker
Latest: IMPD has arrested 31-year-old Dontriell Hood for his alleged role in this shooting. He faces charges of criminal recklessness, unlawfully carrying a handgun, and resisting law enforcement.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man who police shot Friday morning near 38th Street and Keystone Avenue was in serious condition.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says it received a call around 11 a.m. Friday about a man who was acting erratic in the 3900 block of Caroline Avenue. That’s just a few blocks east of the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

IMPD Deputy Chief Michael Wolley said the man was firing a gun from inside a home near the intersection of Millersville Road and Caroline Avenue. “Evidence indicates that there were two cars struck and then a home struck on the opposite side of the street.”

Police arrived and positioned themselves behind their patrol cars in an attempt to deescalate the situation.

Officers asked the man to put his gun down and lie flat on the ground.

“After the suspect was on the ground, officers requested the suspect stand up and walk toward them, while remaining behind their patrol cars. As officers continued to give verbal commands, the suspect stopped, turned away from the officers, and began rapidly moving in the direction where the firearm was located,” Wolley said.

He says officers yelled at the suspect to turn back around, but as he got closer to the gun one of them shot the man.

That’s one way to serve a warrant, that he’ll never evade again.

That Indy story brings up a point about police tactics that irritates the FUCK out of me.
When it comes time to tell the perp (any situation) to do something, it’s “officers”, plural, all of them excited, all barking commands and orders, usually contradictory, getting the perp confused, usually ending up with the perp being shot.
Re-read the story. Every mention of the police is “officers”, plural.
Why is the perp shot? (rhetorical question) Because the perp heard one officer (out of the babble) and tried to follow that voice. Meanwhile, another officer is irritated that said perp isn’t obeying HIS commands, decides perp is now a threat, and shoots him.
Or, the perp is waffling between commands, everyone is pissed, same end result.
Or……it could be that the perp is being a dickheaded asshole, and really does need to be shot.
But, I’m thinking that perp survival rate might be higher if there were ONE officer in charge at the scene, ONE officer giving commands to the perp, EVERYONE ELSE just needs to STFU.

End of rant. Thank you for your time and attention.

Yep, usually the FIRST (bows respectfully) thing I notice in these articles…’specially when there’s a video attached. You gots a dumbass/stoned/drunk/scared/nutjob perp and a re-enforced squad of nervous had no time or training to establish who is in overall command popo shouting different instructions “don’t move/get on the ground/let me see your hands/drop it/he’s got a gun…”. All it takes is for one of the popo to start shooting and then everybody unloads. Best thing is to not do stoopied sh^t that will draw the attention of the popo.

One thing that I CAN’T STFU, suppress, or silence is my admiration of that little brunetted Ms Thang. I’ll betcha that she’s a little Hell Cat. MEOW!

Looks like an imminent case of cardiac arrest, recommend immediate CPR followed by intubation and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

You people are not helping me whatsoever when you post these nice pew, pew, article pictures.
I have a Springfield XD-S which was one of my first. I don’t dislike it but I like it least of all my hand pews….it’s a bit snappy and only has 9+1.
It has a red dot on it but I really like the Hellcat Pro, which seems slightly beefier but more importantly, has a 15+ one and a 17+1. IF I were to modify my collection, I’d swap out the XD-S for a Hellcat Pro.
I’ll have to see if my local pew, pew facility has a rental to try out in which case if I do like it I will actually sell one and buy another.
I hear that’s a thing. 😳😜
