Chiappa Triple Threat

Havelock man faces charges after attempted break-in, shooting by homeowner that led to lockdown at NC Marine Fisheries

by: Jason O. Boyd
MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) — A Havelock man is facing multiple charges after officials said he tried to break into a home and was shot by the homeowner.

Morehead City Police said Timothy Allen Savage, 55, will be charged once he’s released from ECU Health in Greenville after he was shot on Wednesday. It’s the same incident that prompted a brief lockdown of the NC Marine Fisheries.

Officials said shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, officers with the Morehead City Police Department responded to a home on South 28th Street in reference to a shots fired call. Police said Savage forced his way into the home while armed. He was shot by the homeowner with a pistol. Savage then stole the resident’s vehicle before leaving the scene.

After he fled the scene, officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle Savage was operating at the intersection of Highway 70 and South35th Street, adjacent to the NC Division of Marine Fisheries building.

Stop the threat, remember? I’d say the homeowner did just fine.

Hastings man shot with BB gun while attempting apartment break-in, police say

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Police said a Hastings man was shot with a BB gun while trying to break into an apartment.

On Tuesday, Hastings Police officers responded to Mary Lanning Healthcare for a possible gunshot wound to the head.

Police said 62-year-old Miguel Gutierrez suffered a BB gunshot to the head. Police then went to the 700 block of St. Joseph Avenue to investigate.

They determined that while carrying a machete, Gutierrez tried to break into an apartment unit and a resident shot him in self defense.

After receiving treatment at the hospital, police arrested Gutierrez for use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and terroristic threats.

Any port in a storm, but a better choice would be a gun that shoots a whole flock of bb’s at once. Or three very large ones. Thanks again Gun Bunny.

ROFLOL!
All I can think of is the scene near the beginning of “Home Alone” where Kevin shoots each of the Wet Bandits with a BB gun through the doggie door.

Speaking of movies, has lovely Ms Thang been watching “Pretty In Pink”? If not, I volunteer to watch it with her. After dinner.

‘Pears as if Mr. Savage tried to go fishing in the wrong hole and got hooked. Too bad he was gutted by the homeowner.

Red Ryder…grins. Pro tip…a machete is just an over sized knife…and a BB gun is still…a gun.

Nice little toy to have in that final fall back position.

Very cute little thing in pink…the girly rifle is nice too.

I couldn’t help it; Google searched the image, and it appears as though that’s EMILY RICHEY – Bing images in the photo.

One thing that’s come a long way are the girls with guns photoshoots. Back in the day, it was a glance at a Guns and Ammo writer’s female stand-in for the latest Ladysmith test. Now, it’s Lena Miculek, Hannah Barron, Heather Lynn Oh, or Alex Zedra. There’s something about a Southern-esque girl in her late-20s/early 30s with a big gun and the ability to outmatch men in some areas. Damn, I’ve lived in the Deep South too long. And, for laughs, if I buy a SIG Sauer P365XL, it’s going to be the COMP ROSE.

A BB gun is better than nothing, you can, after all, put someone’s eye out. Black powder can be a savior for the Felon with a Family who wants to stay legal while having an ace in the hole just in case. Those Uberti and Pietta revolvers are, after all reproductions of guns that used to be state-of-the-art. A .50 muzzleloading rifle will drop just about any home invader, just hope there aren’t two…

If you have the money, there are available muzzleloading double shotguns and double rifles. For example, Pedersoli’s Kodiak Express Rifle.

Assuming one is legally limited to single shots, have several and a hatchet. Worked for Mel Gibson, anyway.

Assuming “don’t be a felon” isn’t an option (we all make mistakes / annoy the King), also consider Archery.

The things are proveably deadly.

The discipline of the practice of archery is good for mind and body.

The things are deadly and quiet.

Funny, but I’ve noticed some people in my brother’s “friends” circle who like to post pics with their crossbows.

People make mistakes, and I think there’s a definite line between benevolent crimes and/or ignorance (had to pay the rent, bounced a check; had to get to work, stole some gas; didn’t know that was illegal, found out the hard way) and malevolent crimes (murder, sexual assault, armed robbery, home invasions, etc.).

If you have presence of mind and aren’t on any illegal substances, why should I feel it necessary to deprive you of the right to self-defense. I’m for restoring firearms rights back to certain felons, but the ATF and .gov seem to feel differently. So, whether it’s a Remington 1858 revolver, a longbow, or a claymore sword, protect the castle at all costs.

Of course, in my idealistic world, those who shouldn’t be afforded the right to self-defense would be incarcerated for life or sentenced to death anyway. If you’re free, you should be able to live as a free man (or woman).

used to have a Baikal coach gun, shot it better than any other shotgun I have owned since. I suspect with all three barrels’ weight out front, a checked swing would not just be unlikely but damn near impossible. Dunno about that price…can buy 3 Model 12s for that price and get 15 rounds of slam-fire.

A little something that KOB will appreciate, being a fan of Yuengling Beer, and with good reason, they make good beer.

“…they make good beer.” Testify, My Brother! Noticed on my provision run this past week that AB Stuff was gathering dust in the open top coolers that particular store uses. I can generally find the bottles of The Golden Elixir Mr. Yuengling produces, the cases of cans go faster. Demographics, you know. Spoke to the store manager and he is awaiting corporate’s decision on shelf space. The reset is this month. One problem we have locally is there’s only 2 distributors and one of them has very deep pockets. He also does some very borderline sketchy sh^t. My local (dot not feather) Indian owned Class VI Store does a pretty good job of keeping the good stuff in and can order anything you want, just might take a week to get it. Small town, a little pricier, but I can walk there if need be. Try the Lord Chesterfield Ale one day, you’ll be glad you did.

Tallywhagger

Well familiar with Lord Chesterfield, going back to the early 70s, it is an excellent ale but I never see it in South Texas. Used to come at a very competitive price, back in the day.

I’ve recently started drinking a few beers again and finally found Yuengling Black and Tan in a local market. When I want cheap beer-flavored water, I’ll get Coors Light or Keystone Light. When I want something a bit more flavorful, the Black and Tan hits the spot. When I want to go really cheap and think of my dad, it’s Miller High Life. He used to buy quarts of the “Champagne of Beers” by the case and keep them in his trunk, even during the heat of summer. Makes my acid reflux kick in just thinking about that.
