New Mexico governor orders suspension of open and concealed carry of guns in Albuquerque

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has declared gun violence and drug abuse a public health emergency after a string of recent deadly shootings, some involving children.
The emergency order includes the suspension of open and concealed carry laws in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, temporarily banning the carrying of guns on public property with certain exceptions, according to a statement from Lujan Grisham on Friday.
Lujan Grisham cited the shooting deaths of three children from July through September, as well as a pair of mass shootings in the state.
“The time for standard measures has passed,” said Lujan Grisham, a Democrat. “And when New Mexicans are afraid to be in crowds, to take their kids to school, to leave a baseball game – when their very right to exist is threatened by the prospect of violence at every turn – something is very wrong.”

Law enforcement in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County are pushing back against the order – even as they agree gun violence has gotten extreme.“While I understand and appreciate the urgency, the temporary ban challenges the foundation of our Constitution, which I swore an oath to uphold,” Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen said in a statement.
When pressed by reporters she retorted, “No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute.”
I’ve checked and I cannot find where the Governor of New Mexico gets to rescind constitutional rights during a health crisis, or any other. To their credit LEOs in Albuquerque and Bernalillo Counties will flat not enforce the ban or have expressed deep concerns about the constitutional issues raised. Lawsuits will be falling like autumn leaves starting tomorrow. At least her gun ban is localized to Albuquerque, unlike Pritzker’s in Illinois.

I heard that even David Hogg thinks this is too blatant. Of course, he wants them to take your guns too, just a bit more subtly.
I’ve seen the tweet Hoggboy made and it’s almost word for word identical to tweets made by other anti gunners, so someone on the left is in panic mode and sent out talking points to him and others.
He knows he can’t win a real fight, so he wants to slowly grind away at the will/ability of anyone who may disagree.
I’m thinking there may be a new resident in the NM Governor’s mansion soon. What kind of dumbass thinks this is a good idea? She’s even admitted that it won’t affect gun violence.

So, was wondering if she uses her maiden name for the ethnic vote, or for the connection to the family. Also found quite a few members of that family have been … involved in scandals and corruption. The DA, Sheriff, Chief of Police and Mayor have all gone on record saying that they will not support this, it is unconstitutional and they won’t put officers at risk of civil action for her stupidity.

The Gov also says that the constitution isn’t the absolute law of the land and her oath to support and defend it also isn’t absolute which is an admission that she knows what she is doing is breaking the law. If I Were in NM, it’s time to call my rep and demand articles of impeachment on her psycho ass.

Typical. Violence is rampant in the city / county. So rather than go after those being violent the left’s plan is to go after those NOT violent and insure they cannot defend themselves. Coddle the criminals and prosecute the law abiding citizens. This “defund / disband” the Police experiment has been a dismal failure as any rational person knew it would. Yet the “answer” is dump on the law abiding insted of the criminal.
