HPD: Husband shot in the mouth during apparent domestic violence incident in Acres Homes
Police said the couple’s 8-year-old daughter was home at the time of the incident.

Author: John Diaz
HOUSTON — A man and woman were hospitalized after an apparent domestic violence incident in the Acres Homes area, according to Houston police.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday on Mount Street near Wall Street in northwest Houston.

Police responded to a call of a shooting at a home when they found a man with a gunshot wound to his mouth being treated at the scene. They said the man got into an argument with his wife while their 8-year-old daughter was home.

The argument then turned physical, which led to the husband threatening his wife with a gun. The wife then shot her husband once in the mouth with her own gun in self-defense, according to police.

Rideshare driver with CCL shoots robbers on Chicago’s West Side

CHICAGO – A rideshare driver shot two robbers Saturday morning while on a job in North Lawndale.

Chicago police say the 26-year-old driver was dropping off a passenger around 1 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Millard Avenue when two people – a man, 20, and an 18-year-old woman – walked up to him and announced a robbery.

The male suspect took the victim’s cell phone, then fired shots as the two robbers tried to flee the scene, police say.

Police say the driver, who is a concealed carry license holder, returned fire, striking the man in the leg and grazing the woman in the arm. The driver was not injured.

Dad shot in the mouth by mom….
Well, that’s ONE to get someone to shut up and stop the argument.

Whole new meaning to the term, “…shot off his mouth…” Bet he’ll make his own sammich from now on.

Chitcongo DA persecuting the driver for shooting at the income redistribution specialists in 5,4,3,2..

Real nice rib tickler you gots there Mister. The two main things I look for at estate/garage/yard/flea market sales is cutlery and cast iron. Be surprised what you’ll find. I’ll dig deeper into the Randal linkys after my escort duty is done.

Nice little pig-sticker there. Just don’t bring it to a gun fight.

I think that the significance of having the 8-year-old daughter in the report (who is now guar-an-dam-teed to have daddy issues the rest of her life) that that child endangerment / abuse charges may also be in the works. If the Harris County DA can get her anti-depression meds working right.
He shot his mouth, she shot it off. He’d better think again about threatening her in the future.

If those who are Septuagenarians want a Randall direct from the maker, they better get their orders in ASAP. Wait times are about four to five years.

I hope you still have it…..not lost, misplaced, or in storage……somewhere…..

I just put it back on the shelf. “Cold dead hands”

, and all that…

I recall one crusty old Vietnam vet MSG commenting to me:

MSG “you ain’t old enough to have one of those!”

11B-MC: “Captain K… said I could keep and carry this, Sergeant.”

MSG: ” You ain’t old enough to know what that is!”.

(Long conversation…)

I guess I will just have to admire from afar, then.
Unless some just gifts me one…

Be of good cheer, Brother Graybeard. I found a WWII, USMC Stamped K-Bar, with sheath and stone at an estate sale in and amongst the “misc old junk of Grandpas” a few years back. Paid $2.00 for it. “We knew he was a Marine, he never talked about it.”

Compatriot of mine was yard sale hopping with his wife and ran into a Springfield 1903 bayonet along with a Lee-Enfield Bayonet, both with scabbards. Gave $15.00 for both.

I made a list of items for my daughter, what it is and what it should be worth, for when my time comes. Came up to a tidy sum. She also has a list of people that would buy certain items…for cash $.

I need to consolidate and make a record of my knives. I have a vintage USAF Survival Knife and a number of bayonets (M1916 Spanish Mauser, Kar98k, M7, etc.), among some other classics. Also a bunch of newer stuff I bought in the ’90s and ’00s, like a Gerber Mk. II, more than a few Cold Steels, M9 bayonet, a couple of Benchmade autos, and even a custom knife (forget the builder) a friend gave me.

Having spent too much time on staff, I created spreadsheets to track firearms and tools. Guess I need to start one for knives now…

Time consuming, but will be well worth it, at some point in time or another. And not just weaponry. Tools, cast iron cookware, books, prints, misc junque, fishing gear, and the entire assortment that you have ratholed over the years. Most folks don’t think about what all they have and/or what it is actually worth. Their survivors have even less of a clue, they’ll either leave it as it was or practically give it away.

Put that ARRRMEE Training to good use and do them a favor, they will need it.

Randall’s are available on the secondary market, such as EBay and GunBroker, but they are quite pricey. The large combat knives will cost about $500.
