Suspected cartel men, armed and wearing body armor, seen crossing the border into the U.S.

| August 11, 2023

Video became available showing individuals suspected of being cartel gunmen. They crossed the border into the US while dressed in body armor and armed with what appeared to be firearms. Border Patrol moved to intercept them. The men were not there when the agents arrived. Five suspected members of a cartel had been arrested in this area back in June.

From Fox News:

The latest incident came just days after Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) drone operators in Eagle Pass spotted an armed smuggler in Eagle Pass carrying a long gun and guiding a group of illegal immigrants across the Rio Grande.

In that instance the man made it back to Mexico, authorities said.

While the overwhelming majority of migrants coming across the border do not have criminal records, the large numbers of people coming across has raised concerns — particularly from Republicans — about who may be among the hundreds of thousands of people who are able to evade Border Patrol agents. The head of Border Patrol announced last week that agents nabbed four sex offenders — some with convictions of crimes against children — at the border coming into the U.S. within a single day.

The border has seen record-high migrant encounters since 2021, but numbers began to trend down after the end of Title 42 on May 11. There were 144,000 migrant encounters in June, down from over 200,000 in May. However, recently there are signs numbers have gone up in July, with the Washington Post reporting that initial numbers are up by 30%.

The Biden administration has touted moves it is taking to reduce the reliance on smugglers, who control large parts of the Mexican side of the border and who migrants often need to deal with in order to be able to access the U.S. The administration has expanded a number of lawful pathways for migrants to enter the U.S. — and has touted an anti-smuggling campaign last year which led to thousands of arrests.

Fox News provides the balance of the story here.

The crying clown says the border isn’t open.

Anonymous

But it’s not an invasion when progressive’s favored thugs do it…

Odie

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that armed cartel members in body armor aren’t escorting women and children through the dark of night.

Would it be an act of war to drop munitions on our side of the border when such people are encountered?

MIRanger

No, just a 15-6 and reparations paid to the individuals families.

Graybeard

I would like to read a Texas defense attorney’s opinion on the self-defense/defense of property aspect for landowners.
The practical problem is that the law-abiding folks are spread out, making armed defense against a group of cartel invaders very risky.

This clown hardly ever stutters when she lies about the border which is like totally secure now because they had to fix problems from orange man trying to put up a wall which they totally put a stop to.

TopGoz

About that last paragraph and the Biden administration’s attempts to reduce reliance on smugglers while opening new pathways to enter the U.S…. What I hear you saying is that the U.S. government is taking over smuggling operations.

Sounds like somebody had a bad lawyer. Fail to plan/ plan to fail and all that.

My divorce went swimingly. I have nicer house, nicer car, pay/ owe/ receive nothing and am laying pipe like I was 25 again. My only regret is I didn’t do it years ago.

True. Ask Paul McCartney about Heather Mills and pre-nups now.

They have been wanting to get back into the game since the ATF was caught gun running back during Obama. Haven’t been able to figure out a good way.

The Happy Hooker who Went to Washington says the border is totally secure. Anything otherwise is lies spread by J6 Revolutionaries. She cries AND stutters and makes no sense when she talks. She would be a great president once the current one dies of old age.

The administration sold the border to the cartels. The only reason that makes any sense for this BS is money going to the bidens.

KoB

“…to provide for the common defence…” THAT is the primary job of the Federal Government. And it is not being done. We are seeing, in real time, an ARMED invasion of these States United. We have spent TRILLIONS of USD defending the borders of other nations and will not spend any to defend our own? DaHell!???!! Not only will we have to protect ourselves from these armed invaders, we now have to protect ourselves from our own government.

Prepare.

“The quality of life to which you have become accustomed is out of stock”

And the CIA mockingbird press and their bot lackeys have the temerity to call some of us “Ya’ll Qaeda” or “Vanilla ISIS”?!

Last time I checked our government gave both of those organizations money and arms. (rest in hell, McStain)

What does ‘our’ ‘government’ give Americans?

I ain’t asking for them to buy me dinner before the forced copulation but if they can stop causing food inflation going up at least 12% in two years I may just ‘take one for the team’.

“Prepare”? Shit yeah, bon ami.

And people wonder why we’re all armed on the border. Load cars are a daily occurrence. Friend of mine got wiped out on his Harley a few weeks ago, carload of illegals ran a red light. Had this little incident Wednesday, just a few doors down from the former location of D’s Cantina.

All I can say is Fuck Joe Biden.

5JC

Something tells me they didn’t stop to see if your friend was ok.

SFC D

They stopped, the SUV they were driving was totaled. Harley’s make a big dent lol. Driver still has not been found.

5JC

That is what I meant, the driver.

Around here we have had several people from South of the Border get killed running into the highway away from traffic accidents, that they caused. They really don’t want to get caught but it isn’t worth risking death over.

SFC D

The cartels recruit young drivers out of Tucson and Phoenix via facebook.

In Hell Paso, the hit-and-run BS of drunk-drivin’ illegals aliens without insurance is a daily hassle. The selfish pendejos don’t care– it’s not their country, f*ck it!

Eggs

I follow USBP Tucson Sector fizzlebook page, looks to me like the orgs running the smuggling get a big discount on woodland camo.

SFC D

People see “Tucson Sector” and just think it’s Tucson. Tucson sector runs from the New Mexico border to the Yuma county line. 262 miles of border, 9 stations.

Eggs

And never a dull moment

He’s getting better, still needs some surgery on his leg and arm. And on that insurance thing… the SUV was stolen, and the rightful owner’s insurance refuses to pay because the car was used in the commission of a crime. Life on the border, baybeee!

Roh-Dog

Of course…

{righteous anger rises}

SFC D

Got a high-speed chase on HWY 80 even as we speak. Load car headed north out of Tombstone. Just another day.

Graybeard

We’re gonna have to start carrying a full load-out as a matter of course.
I had to make a run into Harris County earlier this week and strapped two more mags on before I did.
If I’d had to go much farther into the cesspool I think I would want a Maverick 88 as well.
The Texas border region is hurting badly.

KoB

Always good to have Maverick alongside when you’re in a danger zone, GB. Cook a bad guy’s goose and put him on ice, man.

SFC D

Mr. Maverick is always handy at the Cantina. MRS D has her eye on this:

That’ll make a perp re-think his life-choices.
How long he’ll have to think is another matter.

Graybeard

Yeah, Mr. Maverick is a good friend in need.
I keep an “extra” 6 on hand just in case. No such thing as too much ammo.

You left out the BEST PART! In the literally “you can’t make it up” category;

Things are going SO GREAT the Pentegon went ahead and did this:

Exclusive: Pentagon Sells Off Trump Border Wall (msn.com)

JIC you thought they were kidding, feel free to buy your own stack of unneeded border wall:

Get a crowd source, buy the shit for pennies on the dollar and build the wall privately.

Roh-Dog

They tried that and locked up a bunch of people for daring to improve our security.

I’d say if a union of concerned citizens goes ‘head with the plan, have tanks and strap Senators’ and Reps’ kids to the top instead of reactive armor.

Test The Machine’s conviction.

5JC

I like the way you think, The entire Biden tribe. After all it is secure.

Problem with that effort is that the guy running it was a shyster as I recall. Hell, I can probably scratch up some Engineer Soldiers to do that shit for beer.

Roh-Dog

“Brian Kolfage and Andrew Badolato abused the trust of donors to We Build the Wall and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to line their own pockets,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams in a press release. “The defendants have now been held accountable for their criminal conduct.”

The crowdfunded campaign ultimately raised over $25 million. Despite Kolfage asserting that all of the funds would be put toward their mission and purpose, the defendants used the money for their personal use and took steps to conceal it by using fake invoices and contracts, DOJ said. (link)

Or, something other nonprofits do on the reg. The real crime was being close to Bannon, and by extrapolation, Trump.

Whatever. I donated $25 dollars and I’m knew a lot was going to be hovered up by red tape and expensive lunches to get shit done.

Honestly, IDGAFF

MustangCPT

Point being, it can be done if you keep the glory hounds away. We gotta do a better job at policing ourselves so we don’t get associated with clown like this guy or the Oaf Keepers.

Roh-Dog

Any tone wasn’t directed at you btws. (I rereaded it and want to be clear)

Agreed, but it seems the news assholes always find ‘that/those guy(s)’ in any org.

Any organization professing unity (you’ll see where I’m going) needs to start teaching-by-using Robert’s Rules and enforcing order without favor.

Just like anqueefa.

MustangCPT

No worries. I get it. Bottom line, don’t talk to the press and keep the idiots away.

Odie

I dunno. It was the MSN reporting on it. Who knows if what they reported was actually 100% factual, or just bits and pieces of their choosing.

You could round up just about anybody here to help as well. You know, for free beer.

5JC

If I lived anywhere near Arizona….

Glad the border is secure! This past week in King County (Seattle) Washington an investigation and drug dog obtained:

  • 290,000 M-30/fentanyl pills**
  • 9.5 pounds of fentanyl powder**
  • 1 pound of cocaine
  • 5.7 pounds of heroin
  • $52,043 in cash
  • 1 stolen gun

**enough to overdose/kill every person in King county

Between January and the end of July, EMS crews responded to 4,868 overdose calls, compared to the 2,947 during the same time last year. According to the King County Medical Examiner, 808 people have died of overdoses this year, which is on track to exceed last year’s record total of 1,001 overdose deaths. So far this month 3 of the overdose deaths in King County involved children.

All this yet public use of fentanyl continues on street corners and public transportation due to no laws in King County prohibiting possession of less than 6 grams of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl.

The state law was struck down 2 years ago and could be reinstated if the legislature, majority “D”, would only add the word “knowingly” to the previous law regarding possession.

5JC

See? Completely secure. Those J6 rebels don’t have a clue. Everybody should be allowed to carry two eight balls of coke, fen-fen and black tar on their person. You never know when you might get the urge to check out forever and want to have a good time doing it.

Seattle is on my list of places to go 20 years after the bombs fall. The radiation should have quieted down to a dull roar by then. I want to see what kind of mutations formed from when the addicts were hit with the nukes from the Norks and China.

pookysgirl, WC wife

Yup, the border is secure! It must be coincidence that suddenly my rural Iowa town has lots of new arrivals that no hablo ingles! I’ve now seen two “kids” with face tattoos this past month. Sheer coincidence, I’m sure!

fm2176

Innocent mumble rappers, no doubt. Face tattoos are the young generation’s way of expressing individuality. 🤓

fm2176

The border is a joke, and while I feel for the Border Patrol Agents and other LEOs who are trying to stem the flow of illegals, it’s been at the point where, as Billary would say, “What difference at this point does it make?” for a hot minute.

We’re too focused on much more important things in this country, like DEI, transgender rights, who’s playing what sport and how “our” team is faring, and when that evil fake Orange Man is finally going to be locked away for eternity.

I can walk around South Louisiana visibly armed, as I could in Virginia back as a snot-nosed 18-year-old in the ’90s. Back then I would regularly get harassed by store managers and by cops, with the former usually asking me to leave the establishment and the latter usually conducting “investigative detention” while they ensured that I was neither a criminal nor carrying in an illegal manner. I exercise my constitutional carry these days, carrying concealed. Heck, much like when I was stationed in DC, sometimes I’ll forget my pocket pistol and get into work. Oops, good thing it’s concealed nicely. Then again, corporate policy isn’t quite the same as draconian Washington DC handgun bans.

Even being perfectly within my rights, if I were wearing visible body armor and carrying weapons, I’d expect to be stopped and questioned by any cop that gives a damn. The possibility that cartels have become so emboldened that they are just crossing the border in such a manner is alarming. In my mind, I think it might be a good thing that Border Patrol didn’t find them. Outside of the Army, the only time I’ve worn body armor and carried a long gun is when I was looking for a fight, namely after my house was burgled over the course of a few days while I was on leave, and I posted in the woods semi-hoping they would come back one more time…

Prior Service

Time to create a new army live fire training area. Let’s go with a 2000 mile long LFX area. Build all the surface ranger zones to run roughly east/west, and let the training commence. Priority to brigade CALFEX so we can bring in attack helicopters, A10s and 155 to support all of those tanks, machine guns and rifles. You want to go through the impact area? You take your chances.
