Justice and equality before the law…aw, the hell with it ADDED

| June 23, 2023

Yep, we live in a country where all men are equal before the law.

Unless, of course, they have a last name like Baldwin. Or Kennedy. Or Biden.

We’ve already noted the deal; that has percolated from the Baldwin negligent homicide – as of now, he is not facing, and likely will not, face any consequences for killing his camera lady. We all predicted it – ultra-liberal perp’s case fading away in an ultra-blue are. (Sadly, there are red areas of NM which are drowned out by the liberati  in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Lost Crotches.)

Hunter Biden. Looks like a zero-time sentence, even when he implicates  himself in his own book. According to media talking heads, this is normal. Happens all the time. Everyone gets a deal like this – just ask ’em.

The federal gun charge, which makes it unlawful for a drug addict to possess a weapon, is a rarely used statute that is facing legal challenges and has recently been used as a catch-all charge against white supremacists.   NBC

Similar transgressions by the nonfamous routinely go unprosecuted. Vanity Fair

Nothing to see…move along…all routine and unremarkable. Except it isn’t.

Lawyer for hip-hop artist Kodak Black, who was charged with the same federal weapons crime as Hunter Biden and sentenced to over three years in prison, slammed the prison-free plea deal reached by the Justice Department and the president’s son.

In 2019, then 22-year-old Black, who had prior convictions, was sentenced to more than three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges. He admitted that he falsified information on federal forms to buy four firearms from a Miami-area gun shop on two separate occasions.

“I’ve never seen anyone where this offense was charged,” Cohen said, “and they didn’t get some sort of prison sentence. And in fact, most of the time in federal court, you very rarely see people get anything but a prison sentence.”

And then there is the question of timing: a deal for sentencing reached BEFORE CHARGES ARE FILED. Right.

…defense attorney and former Brooklyn prosecutor Arthur Aidala told Insider.

Typically in tax-related criminal cases, Aidala said, prosecutors recommend “some sort of incarceration for what’s called general deterrence, even if they’re assured that this individual is not going to commit these crimes again.”

Prosecutors “want to send word out there that you better not cheat on your taxes, you better not fail to pay your taxes, because if you do, you’re going to go to jail,” Aidala said. “So that’s why they’re typically heavy-handed when it comes to any form of taxes.”

Aidala — who has been the defense lawyer for high-profile clients including Ghislaine Maxwell and Harvey Weinstein — called it “rare” to have a plea deal on the table in a federal criminal case even before an arrest or indictment.

In the dozens of federal cases he’s been involved in, Aidala said he’s only seen this happen once or twice.   Business Insider

What’s the phrase – different spanks for different ranks? No… it’s “The Best Justice System Money Can Buy”. Or maybe “Life’s like a shit sandwich – the more bread ya got, the less shit ya gotta eat.”

June 23 AM Add:

A former IRS employee told the House Ways and Means Committee that U.S. Attorney David Weiss sought authority to charge Hunter Biden in two federal districts with charges broader than the tax-related misdemeanors the president’s son agreed this week to plead guilty to, according to a 212-page transcript of his interview.

The whistleblower, Gary Shapley, says Attorney General Merrick Garland was not telling Congress the truth when he asserted in earlier testimony that Weiss, who is based in Delaware, had the authority to charge in other jurisdictions, including California and Washington, D.C. Shapley said bringing charges in those districts is not something the U.S. attorneys there, who were appointed by President Joe Biden, would do.

The Justice Department denied Shapley’s assertions.

“As both the Attorney General and U.S. Attorney David Weiss have said, U.S. Attorney Weiss has full authority over this matter, including responsibility for deciding where, when, and whether to file charges as he deems appropriate. He needs no further approval to do so,” said Wyn Hornbuckle, the deputy director of the Justice Department Office of Public Affairs.

Shapley told the committee that as an investigator for the IRS, he obtained messages Hunter Biden sent on the WhatsApp platform, including one that he read demanding payment from a Chinese businessman named Henry Zhao. In the message, Biden appeared to suggest that he was sitting with his father, then the former vice president, saying, “I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.”

We all knew it was going to go that way. Kodak Black even knew it was going to go that way. He is a black man in the justice system and they typically get more time. So in things this week; that I am totally not shocked about, this is close to number one on the list.

A shocker would have been under Biden going on TV in front of Congress, testifying about all the bribery schemes who got paid off and by whom, dates bank accounts etc. A complete allocution in exchange for amnesty. That would have been the TV event of the century. Unfortunately there isn’t a witness protection program on Earth that can hide him and he knows it.

All are equal, but Democrats are more equal than others.

Don’t worry, Commissar will be here soon to explain why this is not only normal, but good, and ooh, BTW, Trump is a facist…

Ah, yes, an “it’s all about who you know” system doesn’t lead to abuse and corruption… only in every time it’s been tried, that’s all.

It’s coming…Prepare!

“Prepare”

The halving-thickness (h-t) for solid concrete for fallout is 2.2-2.4 inches.

If; Protection Factor (PF) ≈ 2^(x), x = number of h-t…

PF 40 is FEMA’s recommended minimum, or x ≈ 5.3 halving-thicknesses, or 12-13 inches of solid concrete mass.

Fallout’s radioactive decay is logarithmic so it drops QUICK! The initial protection is more important than the next 1+ increments of time, but lowest achievable absorbed dose is highest priority.

Mass of anything will decrease absorption, one just needs enough mass!

I’d like to put a guillotine on the Washington Mall between the White House and Capitol building with a great big sign on it that says; “Fuck Around and Find Out”.

These were just 2 of the most obvious criminal actions of hunter. You can damn well bet that daddy is going to drop a pardon on him for the more serious situations regarding influence peddling, bribery and money laundering including the infamous 10% for the big guy. That way there is no leverage on him to testify against daddy in court later on.
