Man shot after allegedly breaking into home

A man was shot after allegedly breaking into a home along FM 3084 Thursday night.The man was taken to Citizens Hospital in Victoria before being transferred to a trauma center in San Antonio, where he is being treated for his non-life threatening wounds, according to Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Johnny Krause.
The homeowner was awakened around 1 a.m. by the sound of breaking glass and, after telling his wife and two young children to stay put, found a man standing in his house, said Krause.
After being asked to leave the man started to approach the homeowner, who then shot at him with his .38-caliber gun. The man turned around and came at the homeowner again before charging past him to lock himself in the bathroom, said Krause.
The homeowner got his family out and called 911.
