What is your Major (Cook) malfunction, Birther?

TSO sent me a link to an article on Military.com in which R. Lee Ermey wonders who the hell these Birthers are – more specifically, the folks in the military who refuse their orders;

“I haven’t heard about those guys,” Ermey told Military.com during an Aug. 21 interview. “If I do run across them though, trust me, I’ll square them away.”

Two GIs deployed to Iraq have insisted that Obama isn’t a legal citizen while another Soldier, Maj. Stefan Cook, has been waging a court fight – first in Georgia, then Florida – to force the president to produce a birth certificate that will satisfy his objections.

Like me, Ermey claims he supports President Obama’s policy in the war against terror, but he claims he’s independent of political affiliations. Obviously, he thinks that politics have no place in the military – like me. These antics of Major Cook can only end up hurting the military in the end – no matter how it turns out.

Ermey for President! I can see it now…. Ermey/Lilyea 2012. I think I’ll make a bumper sticker.

Ermey is right. While politics DOES play a part in the day-to-day decision process at the flag/staff level, for your basic enlisted person or even junior officer, we take orders, we ensure they’re carried out, unless they’re illegal orders. As Obama has been duly elected by the Electoral College and the results verified by both houses of Congress, there is NO, and I repeat NO, reason to believe that any order given by my C-in-C, no matter how much I might disagree with him, illegal based solely on the question of his citizenship.

IOW, Major Cook, STFU, stand your post, do your duty.

Ermey/Uncle Jimbo: One will stomp your azz; the other will think about it.

Evidently, you have not read the cases or the filings.

Cook is a decorated combat veteran and his concern was and is- that if he or his comrades in arms- are captured in the line of duty- and this president is found to be unqualified to be c-in-c, they would not be protected by the Geneva conventions.
And the military told him he didn’t have to go- in a span of 2 days after the case was filed.
AMAZING. Government NEVER works that fast.

BHO sealed all of his pertinent documents by executive order on the day he was sworn in (birth cert, college and medical records, passport(s) )

And daily- he and his minions are working to weaken this country and take our liberties. (No “war on terror,” close Gitmo, give terrorists the same rights as American citizens, no waterboarding -even ifit saves American lives, and now- the war on the CIA).
Then- you have the “Death Book” that the BHO admin has brought back to life at the VA.

Seems to me, you “military people” should fully realize WTF is going on.

Guess even some people in the military are still drinking the Kool Aid.
(SIGH)

I’ve seen his fruit salad. By your standards, so am I. Obama isn’t the problem per se, it’s the policies and programs he stands for. Removing him from office isn’t going to solve the problem–not by a long shot. Why is that so difficult for you “nirthers” to understand?

BTW–did Oily Taint promise to get you out of a parking ticket if you spammed the blog? Seems to me you’d have been better off just paying the damned ticket.

Coolpillow – While he may fit the criteria in the slightest sense, this dude isn’t really a shining example of a “decorated combat veteran.” And he’s worried about not being treated fairly under the Geneva Conventions if he’s captured – What uniformed enemy are we fighting? Are we treating our detainees in accordance with the Geneva Conventions?

Jonn – Check out this video at minute 6:00. He says “I’ve been under fire before,” which is complete bullshit because he doesn’t have a CAB. You’re all about exposing phony soldiers – how about this guy?

And who the hell does this guy think he is? He’s not wearing his beret outside. Wait, lemme guess – he doesn’t believe Shinseki’s order to change headgear was lawful…

Jonn wrote: I can’t get his records while he’s still in the service, thankfully. You’ll notice we have a whole category for Major Cook and his buffoonery. If you’re trying to insinuate that we support the birthers, you’re mistaken.
