Jury acquits man of attempted first-degree murder in New Year’s Day Outhouse shooting

A Douglas County jury on Friday found a man not guilty of attempted first-degree murder in a New Year’s Day shooting at a rural nightclub.

The man, Daequan Jermaine Rayton, 24, of Topeka, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault in connection with the Jan. 1 shooting at The Outhouse, 1837 North 1500 Road. He was acquitted on both charges Friday. The shooting, which injured another man at the club, was reportedly the culmination of an altercation between that man and Rayton, as the Journal-World has reported.

Rayton’s trial began on Monday and went to the jury late Thursday afternoon. Jurors returned a not-guilty verdict by 10:30 Friday morning.

Rayton took the stand at his trial and testified that he shot the other man, Justin Vincent, in self-defense after he was punched in the face and saw Vincent holding a handgun.

“I stumbled back and I saw he had a gun. I shot him in self-defense. I shot twice,” Rayton said at his trial.

His defense attorney, Nicholas David, asked him if he intended to kill Vincent and if he had more ammunition in his gun. Rayton said he had more bullets but didn’t want to shoot anyone in the back.

“No, I wanted to get away. After I shot him, he turned around and ran,” Rayton said.

Smart play, Mr. Rayton.

Arrests Made After Two Guns Were Stolen From California Home of Anti-Second Amendment Democrat Representative

By Cassandra Fairbanks
Two men have been arrested in connection to a burglary at the Los Angeles home of Democrat Rep. Karen Bass on Saturday night.

Rep. Bass told police that two guns were stolen from her home, despite her anti-Second Amendment positions and policies.

Patricio Munoz, 42, and Juan Espinoza, 24, were arrested for the break-in on Tuesday after police saw them get into a vehicle that had been parked at Bass’ home during the burglary.

“Last night, I came home and discovered that my house had been broken into and burglarized,” the Bass campaign said in a statement over the weekend.

“LAPD was called, and I appreciate their assistance,” the statement continued. “At this time, it appears that only two firearms, despite being safely and securely stored, were stolen. Cash, electronics and other valuables were not. It’s unnerving and, unfortunately, it’s something that far too many Angelenos have faced.”

In July, Bass tweeted “The number one job of the mayor is to keep Angelenos safe. One of my top priorities will be to get guns off of our streets and out of our communities. Gun violence has no place in our city.”

Two thieves broke in, ignored cash and other goodies for two securely stored firearms. Mmm-kay.

Wow there were 2 guns at a dem anti gun politician and the burglars knew exactly how to get them but left all kinds of other stuff behind. Smells like insurance fraud to me as well as the typical hypocritical bullshit from dem politicians. Rules for thee, not for me.

This sounds like the Lost Angeles version of the Val Demings “Where’s my 9mm???”

Hack Stone

Probably the arrest for a burglary that will be made this year in Los Angeles.

Hack Stone

Probably the only arrest for a burglary….

If the two gentlemen accused of the redistribution of firearms injured someone with those weapons, would she be held criminally and financially responsible? Plenty of jurisdictions have enacted “common sense Gun legislation” holding gun owners responsible if their stolen weapons are used in a crime.

I find it difficult to believe this Proggy D-rat’s story. First, all sorts of valuable items were left by the burglars. Moreover, how did these hoodlums know there were two guns in her locked container? Finally, it is amazing how quickly these two crooks were caught when most simple burglaries aren’t even investigated.

diane feinstein, poopy goldberg or is it whoopy, and bass all gun owners and anti 2 A. Heard the story about Bass last week and mentioned it in one of my comments as off topic. Like I always say, This Shit Can’t Get Any Better. Guns for me but not for thee.

Sooo…Mr. Vincent found himself in the shitter and a shit talking politician wants to disarm We, The People, but keeps gunz for herself? Got it. Sorry not sorry that Mr. Vincent is DRT and I don’t believe for one minute that some common thieves passed up readily accessable goodies to bust a secure gun safe. They’d have taken the other goodies too.

The domestic enemies of our Republic are doing a fine job of wiping out our history. May their chains rest lightly.

Not sure if I’d rather have that Lever Action or lever some action with that Sister Golden Haired Ms Thang. Decisions, decisions….Ok, I’ve decided…I want both!
