IVAW; the peace movement’s stalking horse

| July 29, 2009

All week we’ve been running a series about the prospective Board of Directors of the IVAW. As we documented, the IVAW is more interested in being a band of peace activists than a veterans’ organization like Vote Vets worries more about Democrat legislative priorities than veterans’ issue. Well, here’s something I found last night in my usual perusal of the lunatic Left;

call-for-action

Notice were it says “Endorsers (list in formation)”? IVAW is the first organization listed – that means they’ll be in the front of the protest march. Why? What does the G-20 conference have to do with veterans? Are they withholding some benefits? Closing veterans facilities? The IVAW refugees who hang out here have told us that the third plank of their platform (Full benefits, adequate healthcare (including mental health), and other support for returning servicemen and women) was more of an after thought than a real goal.

In an interview last year, Medea Benjamin said that IVAW gives the peace movement it’s “street creds”, that’s why whenever you see Medea in DC, her poodle Geoffrey [Stolen Valor] Millard is near. That’s all that matters to the peace movement, using the IVAW for a stalking horse.

It looks cool in pictures and on TV, but when you realize that a large number of those people wearing “Iraq Veterans Against the War” shirts aren’t actually Iraq veterans, the illusion disintegrates.

G-20 has fuck all to do with IVAW. British troops leave Iraq before the end of the month, and we’ll be the only ones left. “Hey, France! Remove from Iraq the troops you never sent!” But hey, most of the candidates for the board think IVAW should shift their focus to Afghanistan, Palestine, racism and sexism. They’re not really Iraq veterans and they’re not really against the war. Yeah, that helps keep their organization REALLY relevant.

I think it’s very telling that IVAW is mixed in with every commie group on the planet. What is really sad is that there are so many people being duped into thinking that “peace and justice” are the main goals of any commie organization. How much “peace and justice” is there in Cuba under the Castro brothers? How about North Korea? How about all the “peace and justice” under Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, Lenin, etc.?

The sooner all these people realize that this is the same shit that was put out during Vietnam, the sooner they may figure out that the “peace” movement of the 60’s was planned and seeded by the commies of the old Soviet Union and their communist bloc satellites, along with the alleged “intellectuals” (meaning: those morons with a romantic vision of communism) in academia in this country.

“How much “peace and justice” is there in Cuba under the Castro brothers? How about North Korea? How about all the “peace and justice” under Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, Lenin, etc.?”

Pssst, Old Trooper, you forgot to ask how much RASSSISM went along with those worker’s paradises, too!!!

J AG: Doh!!! My bad!

Yes IVAW is more interested in stopping US aggression than it is in simply being a veterans’ organization.

Army Sergeant

Don’t speak for the organization, Carl. You’re a fringe element, and everyone’s already pissed enough at you already.

JuniorAG

Have you done better than couch space as of late, Carl? How do you reconcile that many of your commie idols are, shocka, racist & imperialist. Doesn’t it bug you that Castro’s groovy commie revolution is devoid of Afro-Cubans?

JuniorAG

Carl, have you done better than couch space as of late? Does it bug you that your commie idols are chock full of racism and imperialism, too? Kind of disconcerting that Castro’s groovy commie revolution is devoid of Afro-Cubans?
