Is this one of the industrialized nations we should emmulate?
I’m just wondering because I’m always hearing about how far we are behind the “industrialized world” in so many things. Maybe we need more of this in Congress. We haven’t been treated to a spectacle like this since Preston Brooks caned Charles Sumner on the Senate floor in 1856.

Exactly. What we have is a congress where both parties only pretend to be in opposition.
This is really nothing new in Korea because these fights happen all the time because the Korean parliament has no filibuster provisions. Thus this is what happens. If we didn’t have a filibuster provision in the US Congress does anyone think there wouldn’t be a few more fisticuffs on divisive issues?
These fights are also a way for these politicians to show their constituents how unhappy they are with the law being passed, so there is a bit a political theater going on here as well.
Tag-team politics? What I wouldn’t give to see Coburn slap Franken….
Nah Boehner bodyslamming Murhta, that would be entertainment. By the way Carl, does your mommy know you are trying to play with real veterans?
It would be way more interesting than it is now. Plus with them battling all the time it would give them less chances to pick our pockets. I’d buy tickets to watch Michele (Hard Rock) Bachmann jack slap Nancy (My eye brows are stuck this way) Pelosi in a full on cage match.
Moynihan punched Kit Bond during the 1980s, that was cool too.
