New COVID-19 variant
As with previous pandemics, new variants of the current pandemic virus continue to emerge. Infectious disease expert, Dr. Amesh Adalja, states that previous infections do not offer much “cross protection” against the newer variants. Pandemics in the past indicate that even if we get infected, it generally would not be as bad as before given strengthening herd immunity.
From NewsmaxHealth:
1. Fever. Many people report that they have chills and a fever as their first sign of illness from COVID-19.
2. Cough. A persistent cough is another frequent sign of COVID-19. “If the cough is accompanied by a fever, fatigue and body aches, you may want to consider testing for COVID-19,” says Dr. Loras Even of UnityPoint Health. “We’re especially concerned when a cough worsens, is associated with a fever, or causes breathing problems. Patients experiencing these symptoms should come in for an evaluation.”
3. Headache and fatigue. These symptoms are two of the most common signs of COVID-19, according to health company ZOE, which runs a symptom tracking app for COVID-19. “Only 9% of COVID-positive adults aged 18-65 didn’t experience headache or fatigue,” says the company. “Our data shows that the most commonly experienced early symptoms are actually headaches (82%) and fatigue (72%).”
4. Loss of smell and taste. With the current omicron variant, loss of smell and taste are less common symptoms than they were with earlier variants. “There’s a risk of temporary, and less commonly, permanent loss of smell with any viral infections,” says Dr. Raj Sindwani. “Things get swollen, and the odors just are not getting to the smell receptors that live high in the nose. It happens with the common cold and frequently it happens early in COVID-19 cases as well.
5. Vomiting and stomach issues. According to WebMD, in addition to the other common symptoms of COVID-19, a recent study showed that 1 in 5 people who tested positive for the disease had at least one gastrointestinal symptom, such as diarrhea, vomiting or belly pain. Of those hospitalized, 25.9% had gastrointestinal issues.
NewsmaxHealth has information here. Moderna is working on two vaccines aimed at combating COVID-19 omicron variants in the fall.
Category: COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccine
Hey, the Army even vaccinated me against bubonic plague, Ft Carson bros know.
Last vax out-the-door in the Navy: Yellow Fever. Thanks for that, assholes.
So, you’re immune to ChiComs?
Probably not.
I don’t think any of us guys here are immune to that kind of Chi Com.
Graybeard, I’m having symptoms like shortness of breath, heart palipations, and some swelling going on.
SwallowsWell is proof of that
Me neither.
I got deathly ill from something while in Viet of the Nam.
Lasted less than 24 hours but never been that sick since.
I am immune from everything because of that.
I think BA5 is the latest? It seems to be a bad day or two followed by a week of feeling crappy but functional. The only question now is whether in future your doc offers you an annual Covid shot or just ‘the shot’ that is as ineffective against Covid as the flu.
There’ll be BA6, BA7, BAumpteen, etc. as long as Democrats need ’em.
“Moderna is working on two vaccines aimed at combating COVID-19 omicron variants in the fall.”
The politicians are launching the panic propaganda already, and I’m sure that plenty of them own lots of stock in Moderna!
Fuck COVID and the panic.
Lockdowns, masks, voting fraud– again!
Too soon. The fear-mongering should peak mid October, so PINO Joe’s Handlers can Do Something and save us all. Again. Just in time for the Mid Terms.
Labor Day riots will kick off the season.
Joe will remind us that he and his dad grew up in a coal mine.
No joke!
It has been going around the GB Compound – kids & grands have had it.
Mrs. GB and I may or may not have – all my tests have been negative. [opening door to all sorts of wisecracks]
Teaching SS class by Zoom. Unfortunately several of our high-risk friends have tested positive. Praying that they pull through.
And Falsifying Fauci has ‘fessed that the vaccines don’t really protect you – but clings to the belief that it makes the infections less severe.

Prayers for everyone, Graybeard!!
Thank You for sharing! We remember when you shared about a week or two ago that you were coming down with something?
Yes, ninja – had me keep to my bed for a day. No fever, nothing but lethargy and a cough.
With the heat & after-effects of radiation, it is hard to determine what causes the lethargy.
Lots of us on the mission trip had a cough, no fever, but then a few went home & popped a positive COVID test. One grandson had a negative test, but the sheetrock dust got his throat so I took him home.
Hard to tell sometimes, and I refuse to cower in fear of a bug – but try to stay away from those with compromised systems if anything is “off” – haven’t seen my brother in nearly a month.
Graybeard…Thank You for the update.
You must have been reading our minds..OR All Great Minds Think Alike.
Nah. It was neither.
It’s the Power Of The Almighty.
However, we still were wondering how you were doing aftermath wise with your completion of therapy…and if it was gonna have some setbacks.
We also were wondering how your Brother was doing.
Continued Prayers. Faith. Spiritual Warriors At Work.
BTW, that Williamsburg Orange Cake was De-Licious…even though we did not have the Texas Pecans..
Crisco, Yes. Butter, Yes.
We used a toothpick instead of a matchstick…(Always read and follow the instructions!)
Now your Williamsburg Orange Cake recipe is competing with AW1Ed’s Lava Cake recipe…🤭
Well, SOMEONE had to come up with an idea to sell those abundance of masks…

We’re not done, yet. Stand by for the MidTerm-Variant sometime around October.
Checked the boxes on all 5 paragraphs of the symptoms. Myself, Wifey and 89 yo MIL (living with us) each double boosted, tested positive on the 12th. This after Wifey’s sister and hubby flew up from CA to celebrate Wifey’s 62d birthday and her retirement. Neither of them were boosted nor had masks. We’re medicated and getting better. Had to delay dental and my dog grooming appointments but my Chemo is still on to start the end of the month.
Everybody stay safe! 😷
