Soft-on-crime New York City policies resulting in assistant district attorney hemmorrhage

Many New York City prosecutors are leaving in droves from their assistant district attorney roles. Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg, required prosecutors to downgrade many of their charges, and even to not seek prison sentences. The intent of this order would include this action for many crimes that would warrant prison terms.

From Fox News:

The resignations come amid state criminal justice reforms that some have criticized for being too onerous.

In 2019, New York adopted discovery requirements that ordered lawyers to turn over large amounts of material to the defense in a short amount of time.

Joan Illuzzi-Orbon, a former Manhattan assistant district attorney and trial division chief who prosecuted Harvey Weinstein, told the New York Post that such regulations are “crippling our lawyers.”

“You become a file clerk rather than a trial lawyer,” she said, providing the example of how every officer’s bodycam footage at a protest might have to be produced if there are allegations of wrongdoing.

“It’s insanity,” she added. “Most of it is completely irrelevant and not germane in any way to the issues of the case.”

Illuzzi-Orbon’s description of the state reforms echoed former Manhattan assistant district attorney Daniel Bibb, who told Fox News in January that Bragg’s memo downgrading crimes such as armed robbery as “the definition of insanity.”

Well that’s nothing for Ducks Ass bragg to bragg about

It is almost as if the tyrants don’t want real crime to be prosecuted and real criminals punished.
But that can’t be right, can it? /s

Yes, it’s an excuse to crack down upon the law-abiding. Why would they stop it?

Yeah, go soft on criminals and then pass more laws that hamper and restrict Law-Abiding people that can be used against those that don’t follow in lockstep with liberal dogma.

The liberal D.A.’s are hell-bent on making criminals out of the law abiding, and heroes out of the scum bag criminals.

That “fundamental transformation” of America into a Socialist utopia…

It always pissed me off that folks like Lars (and another here…) know these words by former worst president Obama, read them plain as day and still clap and applaud this entire nightmare.

Sent to CNN!

That looks like the work of someone high on LSD. Do we have any EOD techs here who can analyze that pic?

The Stranger

Not an EOD tech, but I’ll take a stab at it. Dummy grenade taped to an empty quart bottle of bleach, cheap watch, batteries (probably dead), a bunch of random wire…oh yeah, real deadly device there. Wouldn’t surprise me if some clown at CNN sent it to himself much like our favorite phonies would lie about all of the “death threats” they received. Oh, and the white powder was Tide. The only thing I can’t figure out is what that black, plastic rectangular thingie is. Fuck CNN and fuck New York City.

The Stranger

Oh, and fuck Eric Adams with a bowling ball.

plastic rectangular thingie” is some kind of infrared receiver.

There is a silicone object stuffed in that sanitizing wipe (?) bottle that has a sneaking similarity to what some may call ‘a fleshlight’ or something similar.

Whoever did this is a top-tier memetic warrior.

Yes, very likely. Remember Juicy Smollay was the likely source of his homo hate letters.

Also, another “tell” it is fake is the pin still in the grenade.

That long black rectangle thing looks like a laptop battery.

USMC Steve

I have to ask. Are they serious? Look at that mongolian clusterfuck.

I use to love the city. Had a couple long stays, almost lived in the upper westside. Still I’m a quick jaunt to New Haven for a train ride in, to be surrounded by the sights, smells and sounds of the hustle.

Part of me misses it, most of me knows never to go back.

Maybe…? But not until the shit these assholes have pulled is ended, and the scum sucking perps dealt with accordingly as warning to never do it again. Of course I’m referring to the ‘leadership’, DAs, ADs, and politicians.

The part that kills me is there are good people that live there for a’many of reasons. They deserve better. America deserves better.

Even if the policies of these DA’s and city leaders is stopped and reversed today, the consequences of said policies will be felt for decades.

Old tanker

One would think that the DA is in fact the employer of those miscreants who were arrested.

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”
I need to go back and re-read “Atlas Shrugged”

The Stranger

My wife just bought me a 1st edition of that book. I’ll probably re-read it in the upcoming weeks.

Saint George of Floyd grins.

In related news, the Citizens of Macon, GA will see a reduction in crime since the Confederate Statues, one dedicated to the Soldiers placed in 1879, and one placed by the Soldiers dedicated to the Women of The South (the FIRST such Statue ever placed), have now been moved. The DA in Macon is a female clone of the Manhattan DA.

The TV Characters Jack McCoy and Erin Reagan weep.

The sooner they are able to wash history from town squares and classrooms the sooner they may repeat that same history, this time under a different banner.

Be damned the consequences.
