Inflation effects acting as headwinds against Biden’s economic message

Joe Biden tried to put a positive spin to the economy. However, Americans appear to be paying more attention to the prices they are paying for goods and services. Unlike Joe Biden and other elites, many Americans do not have an asset/financial cushion against rising prices. Even a CNN poll indicates what consumers are more concerned about.

From CNN:

A CNN poll released Wednesday shows that the President’s repeated efforts to highlight undeniably strong aspects of the economy’s post-pandemic rebound and to offset blame for its bad spots aren’t working.

The main culprit is inflation, a corrosive force that the White House initially underestimated and has failed to tame. It’s been decades since Americans have experienced this demoralizing cycle of spiraling costs for basic goods and services. That shock is twinned with punishing gasoline prices that also hammer family budgets and spread pain across the population — in a way that a regular recession, which can destroy millions of jobs but not hurt everyone — may not.

The result is a looming political disaster for Democrats, with voters in a disgruntled mood ahead of midterm elections that were already historically tough for a first-term President.
The depth of voter disquiet about the economy also suggests that a potential backlash against the Supreme Court possibly overturning the nationwide right to abortion may not save Democrats in November.

The party seems stuck in a dangerous political position of insisting the economy is doing well while voters think it’s in the tank.

The CNN poll, conducted by SSRS from April 28 to May 1, showed that a majority of Americans think Biden’s policies have hurt the economy, while 8 in 10 say the government is not doing enough to combat inflation. It was released on the same day the Federal Reserve made its biggest swing against the rising cost of living in 22 years.

White House economic adviser Jared Bernstein admitted on CNN on Thursday that some households are “experiencing extreme discomfort” because of inflation, but said some were in a better position because of the strong job market.

“So I think you have to be more nuanced when you’re trying to assess the economy … we’re doing all we can to try to help ease these inflationary pressures,” Bernstein told Brianna Keilar on “New Day.” He pointed to White House efforts to end supply chain blockages, to tackle port congestion, to lower energy prices and the release of millions of barrels of oil from strategic reserves among other measures.

Bernstein is right about the external factors pushing inflation. But the problem for the White House is that nuance is the first thing that goes missing in political campaigns and voter anguish offers an easy opening for Republicans.

CNN has the rest of the article, and additional articles, related to this topic.

Forget being unable afford food, gas, shelter, etc., vote Democrat because Abortion! (say Democrat leadership).

Hack Stone

They create a problem (canceling federal leases for drilling), supply goes down, prices skyrocket, then enact some half-assed maneuver to fix it, and they claim they solved the problem.

We are still waiting on him implementing that plan to beat COVID that he spoke of during the campaign.

AW1 Rod

And then you have gibbering asshats like Snakehead Carville out there telling us Peons that we don’t know how GREAT the economy really is.

WE KNOW that inflation is rampant and higher than we’ve seen in four decades.

WE KNOW that the government keeps printing and dumping worthless money into to the economy.

WE KNOW that the government deficit and debt continue to soar out of control.

WE KNOW that the cost of everything required in and for our day-to-day lives – including and especially food/groceries and energy/gas – has increased, and has resulted in decreasing quality of life and personal finances.

WE KNOW that there’s an on-going, near-crisis level manufacturing and distribution/supply chain problem in America. All while our wages aren’t increasing/keeping up with inflation.

Retarded Uncle Joe and his low-grade moron minions can spin it however they like. But WE KNOW it’s all a bunch of bullshit!

Methinks the D-rats are about to painfully discover that their grip on the mainstream media isn’t going to do shit for them come this November. Donald Trump was elected while Biden was installed like a cheap toilet from a big box store!

Our AG in Michigan is flummoxed that anyone would consider banning abortion, how dare they!! She says that if the SCOTUS dumps Roe, she’ll refuse to uphold Michigan law, which would ban abortion. I think that’s impeachable, something about nonfeasance.
And, she’s all on-board with Pedo Joe forgiving all student debt. Not the debts of homeowners or truckers or working people, mind you. Her and Gretch are poster children for the far left crowd.

First and foremost, the Supreme Court will not “ban abortion.” That will require legislative action by each state’s legislature. Saying the court is going to “ban” abortion is nothing but Prog agitprop. The D-rat controlled states on each coast will never prohibit abortions. For them, abortion is now like a religious sacrament.

What’s even more idiotic is the Dems calling abortion a “fundamental” right. I looked through the Constitution and did not see it. Worse is that the Dems say it will affect “disadvantaged” folks. What the fail to do is study cause and effect. If you aren’t stupid and carelessly get pregnant, then this is not that big an issue.

True. Just like Christians worship the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, liberals worship political correctness, big Government and abortion.

My provision run to the K Roger Store today cost me nearly $150.00 more for the same items than it did this time last year. And that doesn’t include the extry $2.00 a gallon the fuel cost for the 70 mile round trip.

PHUQUE Prezzy Sniffy Creepy…AND The Whore that was appointed with him.

STSC(SW/SS)

It’s the economy stupid. Hard to worry about abortion when you’re more concerned about the price of groceries and putting gas in the tank so you can get to work.

Democrats will be in for a rude awakening when people realize abortion will be still legal in just about all states with very few with major restrictions.

I’m looking at a bunch of PMC and Winchester ammo at 55.6c/round, signed, sealed, delivered, tax and reg, undercoating with a full tank of gas.

I may not need NEED it, but there is certain things that help me sleep at night: a years’ worth of calories and enough ammo to take on a regiment.

Better to have and not need than the other way around.

As far as the D-geni-Rat lefties are concerned this is all going according to plan. As Hannibal Smith likes to say, ‘I love it when a plan come together’. Additionally, Tucker Carlson last night reported increasing numbers of truckers are quitting due to the astronomical cost of diesel fuel. No truckers delivering goods, we have bare shelves. You won’t have to spend money – so that’s a positive. /sarc
