Off-duty NYPD officers fatally shoot gunman, take father into custody

By Jared Leone
NEW YORK — Two New York police officers who had just ended their shift were involved in a shootout that left a 24-year-old man dead.

The man’s 45-year-old father was also taken into custody, WNBC reported.

The father and son were involved in a verbal dispute with a group of people outside a grocery store when it escalated to a physical fight, WPIX reported. The 24-year-old pulled out a gun and fired it several times.

The off-duty officers heard the gunfire and ran to the scene. They saw the 24-year-old holding a gun. They ordered him to drop it but he didn’t.

“The 24-year-old fired several times at officers,” Chief of Patril Junita Holmes told WNBC. “The officers returned fire, which struck the 24-year-old man in the torso.”

After the son was shot, the father picked up the gun and fired multiple shots at the officers. They were able to take the 45-year-old man into custody and then helped his injured son, WNBC reported. The son was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Armed woman shot by CHP officers on Glendale freeway interchange

GLENDALE, Calif. – A woman is dead after she allegedly brandished two weapons at California Highway Patrol officers who encountered her in Glendale.

The woman was shot by officers on the 2 Freeway interchange and fell onto the 134 Freeway below.

The shooting occurred at 9:11 a.m., when officers responded to the 2 Freeway transition to the Ventura 134 Freeway, said CHP Officer Chris Baldonado.

The officers responded to a call of a woman whose white sedan was blocking the far right lane of the interchange and that she was brandishing a weapon.

The woman had “a couple of weapons” when two officers arrived, Baldonado said. “She refused multiple commands to drop the weapons and an officer-involved shooting occurred,” he said.

As I have stood in the crosshairs of those who target Second Amendment freedoms, I’ve realized that firearms are not the only issue. No, it’s much, much bigger than that. I’ve come to understand that a cultural war is raging across our land, in which, with Orwellian fervor, certain acceptable thoughts and speech are mandated. — Charlton Heston

First.

Nice to see stories where they Officers weren’t ambushed and either killed or wounded before they could react. That is happening far too often these days.

Don’t ya just Love the smell of DRTs FIRST thing in the morning. So very close to another trifecta for our WW. But hey, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad (ht 2 Meatloaf).

All God’s Chill’ren needs them a double barreled street sweeper. I knows that I needs one. fapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfpafapfap

Speaking of meatloaf and street sweepers, I gots to escort a Lady Friend to the little big town for a Chancre Mechanic appointment this morning. Hope that Maverick doesn’t lose that Loving Feeling for me in that Mr. Kahr will be riding “shotgun” and Ol’ Mav will be on ice, man, left here in the corner. The sho ’nuff feelz good part is by the time the appointment is over it will be noon meal o’clock. Big decision as to which Dining Facility to grace with my appearance. Jeneanes has their world class meatloaf, just as Bear’s Den does. But it’s also fried porked beast chop day. And we can’t forget Famous Mike’s. His grilled chops will make a puppy pull a freight train. As will any other selection there. Decisions, decisions.

Y’all try to behave yo selves till I get back.

That is quite an interesting shotgun. If I ever feel the need for 16 rounds in a shotgun I will consider it.

Definitely nice to here about the fine officers running to the sound of gun fire, and not getting wounded. Even after both father and son decide to shoot at them. Kudos that they rendered aid to both even after having to shoot them!

Why would I want a 16 round shot-gun?
Because they don’t make a 30 round shot-gun.

Get the KSG-25 instead. It holds up to twenty three-inch shells, 24 2.75 inch shells, or forty 1.62 inch mini-shells. The shotgun can also store one shell in the chamber, for a total of twenty-one, twenty-five, and forty-one shells, respectively.

You will need an ammo bearer just to run the thing.

Was it the bullet/bullets that killed the woman or the sudden stop when she hit the below roadway.

Her “flight” ended at 0 ft Above Ground Level, just like a disbarred lawyer in a Light Sport Plane. Those sudden stops will get you every time.
