Boomer’s Sunday

| August 1, 2021

It’s time once again, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, for Boomer’s Sunday, where I cull through his weekly offering of ‘toons, and pick the best. Honorable Mention goes to my pals Chuck, Gerhart, Woke Infidel, AW1 Scott, AW1 Rod, and our own OAM, ARC-TI, President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman, Cameron, Skippy, HMCS(FMF) ret, Poetrooper, Mason, Jeff LPH 3 63-66, thebesig, Keepin’ It Real, and Ex, who also have provided some entertainment. These are mostly from the right, with humor scattered around. I am more than willing to post up differing points of view if they don’t annoy me. Now what could be fairer than that? So here we are, with the ‘toons that may amuse, make you think, or just piss you off.

    All good ones!!

Among my favorites? Biden – ice cream and “not worried about brain freeze!”

    Why? Because it’s true.

  2. Odie says:

Nancy holding the flag has the same look on her face all of us have had when we discover the leak proof diaper is not as leak proof as advertised.

  3. KoB says:

Too much lettuce and not quite enough bacon!

    All good, All the time!

    Tanks Mates!

  4. Hatchet says:

Sir if I am to be insulted, I must first value your opinion – should be heard in halls of Governments a lot more often.

Change my Mind? Trick question – Joe Biden does NOT have a mind to change.

If every citizen of Chicago actually did put their guns down, Lori would still look bad.

Fighting the Trans Wars – the Gender Generals – utterly impossible – both generals have NO balls.

‘Warning this is proof I the patience to stab something 1000 times’ should probably be hanging in a lot more households.

If Adam and Eve had been Cajuns – probably could’ve helped to avoid that whole Louisiana Purchase thing too.

Joe ‘Izuzu’ Biden? Entirely generous. Wouldn’t trust this guy with a skate-board…

Things I will put up your ass if you don’t shut up about that Mask – absolutely must be read and narrated by Samuel L. Jackson.

    The Best Photo-bomb ever? YES!!!!

She asked me to sweep the house – CLASSIC!!!

    Yes. WAY too much lettuce….!!

Can’t say I blame Gordon Ramsay much for calling the cops.

I would pay big bucks to actually watch Batman do that to Fauci – many times.

And all the rest – are/were absolutely hilarious. Thank you AW1Ed for another great beginning to another work-week

I don’t mean to step on people’s parade, but the Jefferson quote is dubious at best.

I’ll let the Monticello Foundation speak:

No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms

This sentence comes from Thomas Jefferson’s three drafts of the Virginia Constitution. The text varies slightly from the first draft to the subsequent drafts:

First Draft: “No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”1

Second Draft: “No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms [within his own lands or tenements].”2

Third Draft: “No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms [within his own lands or tenements]”3

This sentence does not appear in the Virginia Constitution as adopted.

Note: This sentence “No freeman shall ever be debarred…” is often seen paired with the following: “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” The latter sentence does not appear in the Virginia Constitution drafts or text as adopted, nor in any other known Jefferson writings.

The OP did not make the image or the graphic and this does not reflect in any way on “Boomer Sunday” or any of the other things in the post.

But Jefferson did say this, which to me is the modern equivalent of “walk to the range….”

In 1785 Thomas Jefferson wrote to his fifteen-year-old nephew, Peter Carr, regarding what he considered the best form of exercise: “… I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks.”

  7. I like the one showing facebook employees on the way to work. capital police on the way to work would really have been great also. On a side note, after some of those cap police actors putting on a show I was thinking that it would be great if someone had bought a bunch of SS Patern camo uniforms and mailed them to the wh, I would really get a chuckle out of it.

Whoever made that needlepoint, give’m at least 2-and-a’half wide berths….and a snickers.

    As always, great selection.

  9. Only Army Mom says:

Personal favorite this week – “My spirit animal…”
    It certainly explains a lot.

My perennial favorite is on a t-shirt I own –
“To be offended, I must first value your opinion”. Slightly different words.

OAM, I’d like to find that for my granddaughter.

She’s rising 5th grade and dreading returning to school because of the bullying. In a private school.

I recently learned that when she’d complain to her 4th-grade teacher the teacher would say she needed to be more self-assured on the playground.

Grandpa ‘a raised a stink if he’d known that at the time…

I’m thinking on printing the above meme for her bedroom wall, tho’…

      • Only Army Mom says:

IIRC (no immediate ac was to my closet) it’s a Grunt Style shirt.

For the granddaughter, I’d make it up on a printer, decorated with rainbows and unicorns and print it on iron-on transfer paper.
