The National Security Agency allegedly spied on Tucker Carlson’s team

Tucker Carlson and his show informed that the NSA was spying on them. (Fox News/Rumble)

A whistle blower notified Tucker Carlson’s show that the National Security Agency had spied on them. This individual disclosed information to the show that could only be obtained from emails that were being shared among Tucker Carlson and the producers. The objective, for this effort, was to gain the right kind of information to be released in a way that would result in the show’s removal.

From The Post Millennial:

“Yesterday, we heard from a whistleblower within the US government who reached out to warn us that the NSA, the National Security Agency, is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take the show off the air,” Tucker Carlson said.

“Now that’s a shocking claim and ordinarily we’d be skeptical of it. It is illegal for the NSA to spy on American citizens. It’s a crime. It’s not a third world country. Things like that should not happen in America, but unfortunately they do happen. And in this case they did happen,” Carlson continued.

“The whistleblower, who is in a position to know, repeated back to us information about a story that we are working on that could have only come directly from my texts and emails,” Tucker explained. “There was no other possible source for that information period.”

The primetime Fox News host went on to explain that the NSA, at the request of the Biden administration, is spying on his show for political reasons.

“The NSA captured that information without our knowledge and did it for political reasons. The Biden administration is spying on us. We have confirmed that this morning,” Tucker explained, firing back at the Biden administration’s activity.

Fox News filed an Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request Monday morning asking for all of the information that the NSA and other agencies have gathered about Tucker Carlson’s show. Fox News also contacted the press office at both NSA and the FBI, attempting to get to the bottom of the allegations.

Fox News has more information here.

The DoJ and IC have clearly been subjugated by the extreme Left, and the push is now on to do the same with the DoD.

This is how tyranny begins. And it ends with us becoming China.

Roh-Dog

Fiery but mostly peaceful [violations of Constitutional Rights and an affront to God Himself].
That and Pete Rose is still ineligible for the HoF?
Post-justice societies tend to not last.

The Other Whitey

What is it gonna take for domestic enemies of the Constitution of the United States to be recognized and dealt with appropriately?

Graybeard

I wish I knew, TOW, but I’m a bit afraid of what it is going to take to deal with them appropriately if they continue to suborn our legal protections.

OWB

Never fear – they will be appropriately dealt with by those who take over when the slime get their dream of destroying this country. The conquerors will have no further use for them. The rest of us? Those willing and able to work have value and will survive. The snowflakes and academics? Not so much.

Welcome to Amerkistan, comrades.

This is the end state of the leftist’s wet dreams…an Orwellian state based on constant surveillance, gulags, and peasantry.

While Orwell was not writing a primer for these deranged nitwits, they have certainly taken it as such.

This is the goal of our own dear nitwit. A state with no civil liberties, no rewards for the workers, only a giant extortion scheme to enrich the “elite”.

In the end, all forms of collectivism are nothing more than organized crime. Why do you think they call their work “organizing”?

Trump had 4 years to clean it up
Instead many a insider
Covered it up
I don’t give a shit anymore
It’s time for a 3rd party

Thunderstixx

Don’t blame Trump, the rot is so insidious and ubiquitous that one man cannot in any manner kill all of it in a four year period.
Seriously, he gave it a hell of a shot, but every klowne in DC on both sides of the aisle was fighting him tooth and nail.
It will take a complete reorganization of the GOP before anything really changes.
We are seeing signs of that happening here in flyover country as more and more people are going to city council meetings, school board meetings, and there is a hell of a lot of turmoil regarding pissed off parents at school board meetings.
If it ever gets fixed, it will well up from the bottom rung of the ladder.
It is conservatives own fault for allowing schools to be taken over by left wing morons with amerika last motivations.
It didn’t get this bad overnight and it won’t be fixed overnight.
A third party will be close to the ron paul bullshit that gave us oblowme as people stuck to their “beliefs” and wasted a vote.
Sorry, but that is the truth…

OlafTheTanker

“Trump had 4 years to clean it up”

..that’s like saying we only gave the EPA et al a whole week to clean up Prince William Sound in 1989, and declare it a failure when it wasn’t done on time.

A second party would be refreshing.

Good, about time you fixed that.

LC

Tucker Carlson claims a lot of shit. He’s the guy who said he had Hunter Biden’s laptop, and that there was fucking child porn on there… but rather than provide an image to authorities, he (allegedly) shipped the only copy -didn’t even make a backup!- and it somehow got lost in the mail? That guy is an authoritative source?

I’ll wait and see what comes out. Let’s see the evidence, and, if true, what the rationale was. I recall the recent headlines about Trump’s DOJ spying on even underage children of Adam Schiff… but the reality is, they were investigating the leak of classified info, and it seems that metadata of family members got caught up in the dragnet. That’s a whole lot less sinister and more understandable than, “OMG, Trump spied on Schiff’s underage kid!”.

‘A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth puts its pants on.’

Hatchet

100% with ya and man! I’ve got some great beach-front property for sale in Saskatchewan… What Carlson has just declared is a very serious allegation and as such, will now require him to underscore this with some very serious PROOF!! So, let me get this straight: Carlson had THE crown jewel of present-day political fuckery in his grubby little paws – e.g. Hunter Biden’s laptop – which supposedly had child porn and a fuck-ton of other incriminating shit on it and dear ‘ol TC forgot or just plain did not mirror or back up the laptop’s drive? Fook’n ‘ell!!! I related this ‘story’ to my neighbour and she laughed and responded ‘even THE freshest and junior-most CBC producer would thoroughly check and test the veracity of any source-material of that ilk – means less egg on one’s face as the story broadens’. Think Tucker ought to change his name to Chicken Little or Pinocchio.. What a putz.

You’ll wait to see “what the rationale was?”

Interrogative: what possible “rationale” could justify spying on a domestic news organization, other than their opposition to the State? Is Tucker Carlson and Fox News behind some massive “white supremacist” movement against DoJ, DoD, the IC and Retarded Uncle Joe?

LC

Related question: What possible rationale could the Trump DOJ have for subpoenaing the data on an underage kid who isn’t accused of any crime?

Oh, right, they were investigating a leak of classified information, and one of the people in the leak communicated with their kid, which ended up netting the kid’s information in the dragnet. Would that have been obvious from the original assertion? Of course not. Hence, rationale matters.

Poetrooper

LC, ol’ Poe’s a bit surprised that a bright fella like you has apparently failed to consider that Carlson/Fox are likely employing a variation of the KoB, good ol’ boy ruse of the “unfortunate boating accident” as a means of deterring any federal authorities who might suddenly show up with a court order to surrender “any and all” copies of the Hunter Biden hard drive.

You can’t surrender what you no longer possess, and have no idea what happened to it, right?

😜😜😜

Poetrooper

Well, ol’ Poe stands corrected. A quick Google search shows that Carlson’s package of documents was indeed temporarily missing but then found by UPS:

https://heavy.com/news/tucker-carlson-missing-documents-found-by-ups/

Since I only occasionally view Carlson’s program, I wasn’t aware of the incident. However, from now reading the article at Heavy, I see that LC was still in error: it wasn’t Carlson who shipped the documents but a producer in New York who sent them to Fox in Los Angeles.

So, LC, it would appear neither of us had our facts straight. I was assuming Carlson was being disingenuous while you were assuming he was inept and/or dishonest.

Ol’ Poe pleads David’s dodge: I’m an old geezer–whaddya expect? 🤪🤪🤪

KoB

Now, now, now, Ol’ Poe, what EVAH gave you the idea that I would use any type of tall tale to daze and or confuse an investigation. I mean, I DO still have the paddle from my boat, but there’s no boat here. Variations? Now THAT was a book with some wild tales in it.

Dodge? Naw, I’m a Ford Man. 😀

David

Dodge, hell, my next birthday has a 7 in front of it… that’s a lot of years of killing brain cells one tiny taste of Bourbon at a time. And if you believe ANY of those tastes were tiny, well, I have a FISA warrant for you.

Poetrooper

When midnight rolls around, ol’ Poe’s gonna have a full decade’s worth of “tiny” tastes on ya, sonny…

😝😝😝

Fyrfighter

Well happy early birthday Poe! and many more!

Under the NSA “two hop rule” they can spy on the electronic commo of anyone who communicates with an American citizen who communicates with a foreign national. So, the NSA may surveil TuCa cuz he communicates with Glenn Greenwald who communicates with his Brazilian boyfriend. Thus, the NSA can intercept and read all of TuCa’s emails with anyone, period, full stop. That is why they could surveil the entire Trump campaign and administration, even though Trump was supposedly “not a target.” Anyone who believes otherwise is a TARDO/retard.

The NSA carefully worded non-denial denial is bogus bullshit.

Anyone that comments here is suspect.

Is the DHS going to announce all conservatives and their websites or businesses as domestic terrorists?

Questions on the SF86 will certainly change if this gets any worse.

Forest Bondurant

“Are you or any member of your family a conservative?”

“Do you attend church services?”

“Are you now or have you ever been a member of a conservative political party?”

rgr769

That last question is easy to answer; there isn’t one in this country. The GOPe certainly isn’t conservative on the whole. They might as well ask if you own a unicorn.

Forest Bondurant

^^ True.

While I still regard Edward Snowden more or less as a traitor, he did reveal the NSA was spying on American citizens. We know Barry turned federal gov’t agencies against political opponents (see IRS vs Tea Party), and had the FBI was in cahoots with Cankles on the Steele Dossier. Of course, a big gov’t, pro-deep state politician like Creepy Joe has no troubles going after a guy telling the truth. If Tucker was off by a mile, they’d sift to other targets. Get the popcorn and wait for drunk-ass Nancy to declare him Public Enemy No. 1.

UpNorth

I doubt Creepy Joe is behind much of this, however, Barack? That’s far more likely. Joe is a puppet, Kamala is his impeachment insurance. This is just a continuation of the 8 years of (T)error.

rgr769

Gropey is a meat puppet. The zerobama gang is pulling his strings. I would be surprised if he was aware of the day of the week. Every time he opens his yap in front of the media it is blatantly obvious he is reading what someone else scripted for him.

tom reynolds

A second party would be refreshing.

Commissar

Unless he was having conversations with a foreign national that is a known agent of a foreign power or known threat to national security the NSA was not “spying” on him.

And if he was, then the NSA was STILL not spying on him…they are spying on his buddy and his side of the conversation was picked up incidental to collecting on the target.

Admittedly, I think it is very possible he does have conversations with agents of a foreign power and threat targets because he frequently regurgitates Russian propaganda almost verbatim.

Commissar Pooper's Narcissism

Yeah! I thought so! You guys should take me seriously because I mean BUSINESSES!

Roh-Dog

CPN, with all due…, naw, no respect for you. Ed Snowden proved your nonsensical statement false and your insistence that Russia is somehow America’s enemy laughable.
Why don’t you stick to the rivers (of blood) and streams (of illogic) you’re used to?
Or, go enlist in the Ukrainian Army as that is always an option.

Commissar

You know CPN is not me right?

It is just a troll. Not even a very creative or clever troll.

SFC D

Are you describing CPN, or yourself? It’s getting harder to distinguish. You’re a fraud.

Forest Bondurant

That “incidental collection” of private information on U.S. citizens, who are not part of any foreign investigation, was legally challenged in 2011 and again in 2013, which resulted in an injunction against the NSA that instructed them to unfuck themselves and terminate those sort of collection methods.

“Spying” on a foreign agent or known threat to national security is one thing, but still requires FISA Court approval (otherwise known as a “warrant”, which in this country is required under the 4th Amendment of the Constitution).

Anything collected outside the scope of that is illegal.

The concern is his private electronic communications are being sought for political retaliation.

Had this happened to a reporter associated with the NY Times, CNN or MSNBC, Democrats and the left would be shitting themselves.

Your okay with it and make excuses because it happened to someone at FoxNews, which is clearly a conservative news outlet.

Commissar

Dude, Trump ordered the justice department to go after his political enemies and journalists that said bad things about him.

I am not ok with either, unless they are cooperating with a hostile power or there is genuine probable cause they are committing crimes..

I know that the only way Tucker was being spied on directly is if he was in contact with hostile foreign agents.

And I think he very well might be because his narratives are often directly in line with Russian propaganda narratives.

Commissar

Also, incidental collection is still happening extensively.

And the laws permitting the NSA to continue to do it were renewed under Trump by a Republican controlled senate and house.

So if you think any “untucking” happened you have not paid recent attention.

Forest Bondurant

“Trump ordered the justice department to go after his political enemies and journalists that said bad things about him.”

Yes, and so did the Obama administration – when the DOJ collected information on Associated Press journalists and James Rosen (another Fox reporter), under the guise of investigating suspicions about leaks.

Overall, that same administration expanded warrantless searches conducted by the NSA.

And no, the Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act was renewed by a bi-partisan vote, including the Democratic support that was led by Adam Schiff.

“Incidental collection” may still be happening, but the practice and methods are still illegal.

SteeleyI

There are a few legit reasons for the NSA to surveil a US person. Tucker could also have been incidental collection- they were surveilling someone else and he just happened to be involved with them.

This could also be from another source- perhaps the person TC was emailing shas bad OPSEC or voluntarily shared them with the NSA.

This could also be complete BS.

By the way, if you think your info is not being surveilled you are living in a fantasy world. Think of a surveillance camera on a busy street. It sees everything; it only becomes intel when they sort through all of the available footage to find a particular person. Essentially, the IC and LE have to deliberately avert the ‘unblinking eye’.

Regardless, as in the Snowden case, the person that ‘blew the whistle’ here not only committed a serious crime but may have actually endangered a case and burned a source.

There are in fact whistleblower procedures, and independent processes that could have investigated this charge and gotten to the bottom of it.

UpNorth

“There are in fact whistleblower procedures, and independent processes that could have investigated this charge and gotten to the bottom of it”. And, perhaps, those procedures and processes were followed to the letter, nothing was done to those violating the laws, regulations and rules, and the source finally said, “Fuck it, I’ll just tell the guy he’s being watched”?

steeleyI

There is no evidence that happened, but if it did, this would still be a crime- if they didn’t trust the internal processes there are still other avenues. Just because the whistleblower thinks there is criminal activity doesn’t mean there is criminal activity.

It is entirely possible that the whistleblower was only read in on part of what was going on, or found out about it through an unauthorized disclosure.

Perhaps TC was an unwitting participant in criminal intel, or terrorist activity. Perhaps the person he swapped emails with was. Perhaps the person he emailed voluntarily shared the emails with federal LE who shared it with the NSA. Perhaps TC was being targeted by criminals, foreign intel, or terrorists. Perhaps TC is wittingly participating in criminal, intel, or terrorist activity.

At this point we don’t know. What we do know is the whistleblower committed a crime.
