Watch: 69-year-old Houston man knocked to the ground during scuffle with ATM robber

Doug Delony
Houston police and Houston Crime Stoppers have released video of a robbery suspect and hope that someone will recognize the man or his vehicle.

The suspect is wanted on an aggravated robbery charge.

The crime happened Jan. 29 at about 10 p.m., according to the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division.

The victim, 69, told police he was at his bank’s ATM in the 11000 block of South Sam Houston Parkway when someone approached from behind and stood uncomfortably close to him. The victim turned around and asked the man what he was doing, and the robber said he was there to take his money.

Police said it appeared the robber had a knife in his hand.

The victim scuffled with the suspect, and he fell into the nearby shrubs but not before exposing the suspect’s face. The robber then ran to a nearby vehicle and fled. Police said the vehicle appeared to be a 2017 to 2019 Ford Escape.

Not a true FGS, more of a rehab story. *grin*
A Dog Who Kept Sneaking into a Dollar General for a Unicorn Toy Gets His Plush and a New Start

Mary Shannon Johnstone

Dogs may be man’s best friend, but apparently, a unicorn — a stuffed purple one at that — is a dog’s best friend.

Animal control officers were called to a North Carolina Dollar General store after a stray dog kept coming into the store and beelining for the toy aisle.

“He went straight for the unicorn, the same one every time,” says Joe Newburn, a supervisor at Duplin County Animal Services.

“It was so strange, one of the strangest calls I’ve ever dealt with,” Newburn adds.

Workers at the Kenansville store (about 80 miles from Raleigh) told animal control officers that they caught the Lab mix darting into Dollar General every time a customer exited. Each time the stray dog made it in, he went to grab the same plush purple unicorn toy.

“Finally, they had to lock the door and called us,” Newburn tells PEOPLE about how animal control became involved in this playful pooch’s story.

No score.

That kick to the ‘nads prolly didn’t hurt fat boy that much cause he ain’t got no ‘nads. And prolly the only time he’s ever been touched in his little “special place.” Kudos to the old gentleman, fight back…headbutt the hangman.

Gotta love a happy ending. When I ran into the furry four legged felon story, I had to send it to ‘Ed. Y’all know he is a sucker for a Good Doggie story. I mean, excuse me, he loves to hear about a young lad turning his life around and getting rehabilitated.

And all of the pretty, wheeled hand portable Artillery we’ve seen of late is prove, again, that AW1Ed loves US, as well as a Good Doggie Story, and wants us to be happy.

Nice film, Jerry. Quick comment he should know: slower heavier bullets hit higher from handguns due to being in the barrel fractionally longer, allowing a tad more muzzle rise in recoil. No mystery to it. If you have a pistol shooting lower than the sights will adjust, the first advice you should get is to try a heavier bullet.

In the current issue of American Rifleman there are seven shooting incidents in its “The Armed Citizen” feature. Five of these attacks are DRT’s, but only if you count the dead mountain lion that was stalking hikers in Northern Commiefornia.
