California woman arrested after drunken, naked shoplifting spree in Arizona, police say

Don’t click through to the source if you want to see a picture. It is not worth it. You have been warned. I am very impressed she burns through $10,000 a day! Reminds me of Brewster’s Millions.

A California woman is facing multiple charges after police said she became belligerently intoxicated and caused scenes – stripping naked at one point – in multiple Arizona businesses on Wednesday.

According to police, Melissa Dawn Hahn, 53, ran up a $154 tab at Mecca Bar and Grill in Wickenburg and became angry – swearing at staff and customers and spitting on a man – when her credit card was declined, KTVK reported.

Hahn reportedly left the restaurant without paying and entered nearby retailer Cactus Flower, where she began trying on items in the middle of the store, KSAZ-TV reported.

When Hahn’s credit card was again declined – this time for purchases totaling more than $4,000 – store owner Karen Jones-Burk said the woman assaulted her with profanity, tossed wine about the store, tore items off the wall and tried to leave the store wearing nearly $800 in merchandise, the TV station reported.

“That’s when she proceeded to take everything out, and I mean everything,” Jones-Burk told KSAZ-TV.

Jones-Burk also told the TV station that Hahn offered at one point to buy out the entire store and told her that she receives a daily allowance of $10,000. Hahn’s banker later confirmed the allowance claim, but Hahn had reportedly exceeded her daily limit by the time she attempted her shopping spree.

According to KTVK, police later found Hahn at a different nearby bar, wearing a Mecca Bar T-shirt and a stolen bracelet. Court documents indicate Hahn is accused of theft, disorderly conduct and indecent exposure.

“We don’t see that in Wickenburg. Wickenburg is a quiet cowboy town, and she was more of a wild woman,” Jones-Burk, who plans to press charges for the missing merchandise and disruption, told KSAZ-TV.

Florida Men Pretending To Be U.S. Marshals Arrested By Real Marshals

The US Marshals don’t employ a lot of octogenarian marshals you say?

Two men are accused of pretending to be federal marshals and flashing phoney credentials to get out of wearing facial coverings at a South Florida resort hotel.

When the staff at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort asked Walter Wayne Brown Jr., 53, and Gary Brummett, 81, to cover their faces, the men refused, and threatened to arrest employees and saddle the hotel with a fine, the South Florida SunSentinel reported.

The scheme collapsed when one employee thought they were acting suspicious and called police on Feb. 11. Officers and a real U.S. marshal arrived and arrested the men on charges of impersonating a federal officer.

A hotel manager told investigators Brummett went to the front desk earlier this month to ask for a coffee and then pretended to be a marshal when he was asked to don a mask, a federal complaint said. He then flashed a laminated card that said he was medically exempt from wearing a mask.

According to the complaint, when the manager asked again for him to put on a mask, Brummett pointed to a badge he wore on his belt. “Do you know what this means,” he said. “I’m a U.S. marshal and can have you arrested if you force me to wear a mask.”

Two days earlier, employees had a similar confrontation with Brown Jr. when he first checked into the hotel, the newspaper reported.

They told investigators an employee gave Brown Jr. a mask and asked him to wear it. But he said he was a federal agent and did not have to, the complaint said. He also wore a badge on his belt and had a card around his neck.

The next day, Brown Jr. returned to the front desk to extend his stay. When the manager asked him to wear a mask, he threatened to have the staff arrested, the complaint said.

One employee told investigators her cousin is a U.S. marshal and she knew they would not act that way.

On Feb. 11, police found the pair dining in a resort restaurant. They were wearing “authentic appearing” circular badges that read “Cherokee Nation Marshal,” according to the complaint.

Investigators learned the men had never been employed as U.S. marshals or by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, the complaint said.

The facemask exempt cards the men wore around their necks were also fake, according to the complaint.

They were arrested and remain jailed in Broward County. Jail records did not list attorneys for them.

Florida man stole rings from 1 girlfriend, used them to propose to another: police

It’s like a Ponzi-scheme proposal!

Florida police are on the hunt Friday for a convicted felon accused of stealing an engagement ring and wedding bands from his girlfriend and then using the jewelry to propose to another lover.

Joseph L. Davis — a 48-year-old who went by the aliases “Joe Brown” and “Marcus Brown” to separate women in Orange City and nearby Orlando, respectively — has a warrant out for his arrest by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office on a felony charge of grand theft. Police say both women have since dumped Davis after learning of the infidelity and are working with investigators and each other to help bring him into custody.

“Earlier this year, the Orange City woman came forward and told detectives that she discovered her boyfriend was actually engaged to someone else,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “When she looked up the fiancée’s Facebook page, she noticed a photo of her wearing a wedding band and engagement ring that was identical to her own, from a prior marriage.”

Police say the Orange City woman then checked her jewelry box and discovered her rings were missing, including a diamond one belonging to her grandmother. They estimated the value of the stolen property to be about $6,270.

The woman was able to retrieve some of the items after reaching out to the Orlando woman. But even she, police say, was victimized by Davis.

During the investigation, the Orlando woman told detectives that Davis took her to the Orange City woman’s home while she was at work, claiming it to be his own and asking her to move in there with him, according to the sheriff’s office. She reportedly agreed, but after packing her apartment up and disassembling her furniture, Davis then told her the deal fell through, police say.

Davis eventually vanished, and the Orlando woman reported a laptop and jewelry missing from her own apartment.

The sheriff’s office says both women met Davis on the dating app OKCupid in 2015 and 2016, where he was using his “Brown” aliases.

“Davis, it turned out, had a record as a convicted felon out of Oregon and North Carolina, and has an active arrest warrant out of Oregon for a hit and run crash with injuries,” the sheriff’s office said in the statement. “His prior arrests include possession of fictitious ID, filing a false police report, domestic assault and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.”

Investigators say Davis also has a tattoo of a cross with the words “Only God can judge me” on his left arm – something both women recall seeing.

Police are asking anyone with information on his current whereabouts to come forward.

Florida once again leading the way.

Green Thumb

Yep.

I guess Phildo cut Melissa off.

She probably found out about his fake Native American, Navy SEAL and Law Enforcement claims and decided to “blow” off some steam.

KoB

“How stoopid can you get?”

“Hold my clothes/mask/engagement ring and watch this!”

Heh heh

I like this guy Davis.

Out of the box thinker.

Running over an allowance of 10 grand a day… her antics should get her sentenced to a horrible fate, say a mere $300 a day (which is still over $100k annually) and the balance donated to WWP, DAV, or a host other worthy projects. Sentence to run forever.

Didn’t listen and clicked link for the top story… Tried but can’t get an ophthalmology appointment until March 20th to get rid of that horrible vision.

Here is one hot off the press. I just heard a radio report that a stupid criminal entered a gun shop and started shooting. At the time there was a shooting class being conducted in the shop’s indoor gun range. Several of its students promptly shot the bad guy to death.

AW, maybe you can put this one up with full details next week.

Correction: It was a couple of the class’s instructors who took down the bad guy. The shooting occurred in Louisiana.
