5 arrested in connection to multiple armed robberies in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Five people have been arrested in connection to multiple armed robberies early Sunday morning.Hamden Police responded to Citgo Gas Station on 1978 State Street on the report of an armed robbery.
Police report that an investigation revealed that three armed gunmen approached two store employees as they were emptying the trash.
Police say the suspects ordered the employees to the back into the store and demanded money, and “placed the barrel of their handguns to the head of one of the employees, as he emptied the cash drawer.”
Approximately 40 minutes later, Hamden Police responded to Krauszer’s Food Store on 2008 Whitney Avenue on the report of an armed robbery.
Hamden Police say that three armed gunmen entered the store with “guns drawn.” In addition, suspects forced all employees to the rear of the store, while demanding money.
Authorities say one of the employees was placed in a “headlock,” with a gun pointed at his head. Police say suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Florida Sheriff: Homeowner shoots, kills intruder in self-defense while family was inside house
The homeowner described the burglar as “out of control,” according to law enforcement.
FROSTPROOF, Fla. — A homeowner shot and killed a burglar in self-defense early Sunday morning in Frostproof, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.
Deputies say Jory Plummer broke into the man’s home around 1 a.m. while he, his wife and their three children were sleeping.
The man’s wife heard banging on the front door and woke him. When he went to check it out, he saw the front door had been forced open, so he grabbed a handgun.
Investigators say the husband found Plummer outside, in front of the home, “yelling obscenities at him.”
According to law enforcement, the man told Plummer “numerous times” to leave, but investigators say Plummer refused.

VIDEO: Crazed Man Attacking Deputy Soaks Up 12 Rounds Before He’s Stopped

A crazed man’s rampage came to a not-so-sudden end Saturday morning in Montgomery County Maryland, and a bystander caught it all on video. After striking a lone deputy twice with a long stick, the attacker took a dozen rounds while still advancing on the officer.It looked like the stuff of nightmares. The attacker looked more like a college professor with his sport coat and khaki pants than a would-be cop-killing lunatic. The wicked grin on his face added a freaky, horror-film feel as the man just kept advancing on the retreating deputy. That was after he broke a long piece of wood with a couple of blows over the deputy’s forearm.
The story from WUSA says the man caused a couple of accidents by ramming other vehicles before the deputy arrived.

Y’all are reversing the cart and the horse here…the grip angle wasn’t chosen because it was better, but because it matched the existing, mandated service gun (whose original grip angle was considered ‘off’ enough that an arched mainspring housing was required to get it to “point” correctly.) .22 conversions, or .22 versions, are available for many guns. Even the much-maligned Glock brought out their model 44 .22 to fill that niche.

The comments in truth about guns, thinks body armor may have been in play…I’m with you though, the deranged look and literal foaming at the mouth to me looks more like bath salts or Spice. Good thing that stick was not oak (or at least the termites had lunch on it first) or we might have witnessed something different (floppy arm syndrome). Not sure it was so much a lack of ammo stopping power, but more a matter of keep firing until the attacker realizes (or its body realizes) they can no longer continue.
Makes me think those .45ACP RIP rounds are better than hollow points…kind of shotgun theory!

Usedta shoot bullseye with a fella whose 41 loved Federal Lightnings, arguably the cheapest crap .22s available. But his 41 loved ’em and shot little tiny groups with ’em. Goes to show, when searching for the kind of ammo your .22 likes best, don’t ignore the cheap crap.
No body armor can protect you from a head shot. One well-placed round to this dude’s gourd would’ve ended the show.

I think this guy’s initial excursion had nothing to do with sand worms. But his concluding excursion will feed the dirt worms.
The one from Maryland shows that the “Oh, you only need a ten round magazine” is bunk. Imagine if the cop only had a ten round magazine? Fast reloads under that kind of stress would be difficult to say the least.
And he still took forever to die with that morbid grin still on his face.

Cops are always exempted from “common sense” gun laws.
