US soldier arrested for planning attacks on NYC 9/11 memorial and troops overseas
Jeff LPH 3 sent in the news about this Army PFC who thought he was plotting with ISIS.
A 3rd Infantry Division soldier was arrested Tuesday in Georgia on charges that he plotted to blow up New York City’s 9/11 Memorial and provide the Islamic State group with tactics and information for killing U.S. service members overseas.
Army Pfc. Cole James Bridges, also known as Cole Gonzales, began communicating online with an FBI employee posing as an ISIS supporter in September 2020, according to court documents.
Bridges believed the person he was communicating with was in contact with ISIS fighters in the Middle East and provided the purported ISIS supporter with Army training materials and advice for attacking targets in New York City, including the 9/11 Memorial.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Army Counterintelligence arrested Bridges on Tuesday, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
He was charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and attempting to murder U.S. military service members, the press release stated.
If convicted of both charges, Bridges faces a maximum sentence of up to 40 years in prison.

He will probably never make Specialist now.
26Limabeans,
Depends on the shortages of certain specialties
at the next prison.
(Pearl necklace, Part 2).
LOL
no good conduct medal either
Why is it that the converts to Islam always go full Bernath and immediately go on line seeking to prove how dedicated they are to the cause?
Natural, unfortunately. Recent converts to many things tend to go all-in enthusiastically since they perceive such great results for themselves, and proselytize to others ad nauseum. “Like a converted Catholic” was a phrase when I was younger. Even now “How can you tell someone does ReFit? They TELL you!”. Many folks jump straight from just-starting to going-overboard in seconds… often repeatedly.
Just like the Sergeant who signs up for Scamway, then is convinced that he will be a millionaire before next payday, but his greatest accomplishment is signing up a few PFC’s from his platoon. Hack is still trying to figure out why the Command never stepped in to stop Sergeants going into business with people in his platoon. That was way back in 1984, and last time Hack checked, he was not a millionaire.
Looks like just the kind of person Dumbkopf would nominate for SECDEF.
He has all the qualifications the left loves:
1. Hate America
2. Hates Jews
3. Dumb as a doorknob
Is Fort Stewart, Georgia all that bad?
Really?
Or, did a shitbird PFC retaliate for getting the beat down
for being a dead weight asshole?

I liked Fort Stewart. A bit swampy in places, but pleasant.
Ol’ Poe had his first taste of fried alligator there.
And, yes, it does taste like fried chicken…
We lived in Savannah while we were there. The wife took one look at the post and Hinesville and said “nope”. I have to say it was worth the 32 minute drive just for the restaurants.
He is also charged with providing guidance and training. A PFC with 16 months of active duty can be a true inspiration to ISIS. He can teach them how to dodge the 1st Sgt when he needs some bodies for a working party, how to finance a car at 28% interest, and how to marry a stripper that you just met.
Well, that’s the thread.
I believe you’ve truly covered everything Hack.
“‘OK, CUT!!! Folks, That’s a wrap. Great job everyone. We’ve got it in the can. Everyone, if you want, grab something off the craft services table.
Hey Babe, you wanna hit The Chateau and grab a bite? OK great, let’s get outta here.
Hey, Yo Phil, make sure someone gets the lights on the way out. Thanks.
CIAO!! “
The nitwit should have realized that ISIS doesn’t need tactical operations advice from a PFC in Georgia.
Does the ISIS leadership have the same problem with junior troops financing a goat at 28% interest?
Interest isn’t a big thing in the Islamic world. They may still be falling victim to high pressure sales contracts for encyclopedias.
Had a classmate while Hack was going though Ground Radio Repair Course. He knocked up his High School sweetheart, brought her it to 29 Stumps and rented a dump of an apartment that Hack affectionately called the C&E Honeymoon Suites. Bounced checks all over Base and the Upper Mojave. And yes, he purchased a set of encyclopedias for his kid, who was still in the womb. Hack vividly recalls Encyclopedia Salesmen being addressed in that financial responsibility film shown during boot camp. Hack’s classmate must have had a dental appointment when they showed that film.
Just as a nubile 15 yo hardbody on the inherwebz is a cop, thus is too, the head of a terrorist group on the inherwebz is a cop.
He will look ever so lovely as the new centerfold in “Prison Bride Monthly.”
Reminds me of The 3 Rules of Internet Dating:
1. Men are men
2. Women are men
3. Children are cops
Enjoy prison you traitorous asshole, may you learn many lessons over the next four decades behind bars…
“Ain’t he got purdy lips? Come here, boy, and kneel before yo husband.”
Ya don’t suppose the incoming POTUS will pardon him, do ya?
I mean, really: isn’t he just a poor, deluded young kid with a poor upbringing? Won’t showing we care turn him around?
(Yes, the above was sarcasm – except for the first sentence.)
You can expect a full Presidential Pardon, much like Bradley Manning received.
“PFC Bridge’s service was honorable.”
– Joe Biden, 46th President of the United States.
Good.
Agreed. Have zero use for such traitors.
Oh, and Commissar: THAT is what treason looks like, even if technically that’s not what he’s charged with. Someone who only participated in a riot doesn’t qualify.
[…] US soldier arrested for planning attacks on NYC 9/11 memorial and troops overseas […]
I wonder if he left clues he might be radicalizing that his friends and family could have noticed?
Like joining Islam and dressing like Yasser Arafat?
Or giving a class on a military base about Islam, and why Islamic radicalization exists in the first place – and then following up the period of instruction with a mass shooting on the same military base?
Yea, Ima think those could be clues…
That and the whole “attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and attempting to murder U.S. military service members” thing.
Ok, ‘Allegedly’.
Amazing how the FBI can crack this wide open
But are unable to get to the bottom of 2016
I’ve lost complete faith in them
Talk about a bunch of keystone cops
Simple to understand, really.
Catching a “terrorist in our midst” gets the FBI good press.
Exposing the irregularities and bad faith/malfeasance by senior FBI officials when presenting unverified information provided by political enemies regarding alleged Trump campaign activities to the FISA court as fact would get the FBI bad press.
Which of those two COAs do you think the FBI will pursue?
I’ll take “Catching a “terrorist in our midst” gets the FBI good press.” for a hundred Hondo.
A bridge went too far and now is over troubled waters. He now can play bridge with his cell mates.
More likely he’s going to play pivot man with his cell mates.
This is also going to result in more Saturday power point training sessions for all E4 and below.
One more thing to add to Skippy’s list of things he may no longer do.
