Happy New Year everyone! We’re now in the third decade of the 21st Century (2021-2030). That was some ride we had in 2020, but we made it. Please post below to let us know you made it to 2021. As usual, the new year brings in hope for better things. Here’s hoping that things will be better this year.

Still here, fortunately or unfortunately. Trying to not lose my will to live and hold on to my faith.

I am still here, which is the mantra of my life. It is literally what gets me up in the morning…since I’m still here, I may as well keep at it until I figure out why.
New Years Eve was a different sort of event, but good. Got to be with the sibling, the best friend and a few of my favorite humans.
That’s all that’s needed to remind me to be grateful and that I am one of the fortunate ones.

It is an indication of the absurd run on and hording of ammunition that my neighborhood, which rings in each new year with epic happy gunfire to rival Any third world revolution, was eerily silent.
Not one 22 popped. Nada
I made it, our neighborhood was eerily quiet, too. A few firecrackers, no gun shots.
Not in my neck of the woods.
Here we are, still breathing. We hope to continue this through the new year.
We celebrate New Year’s Eve with the inhabitants of King Edward Point in the Sandwich Islands located east of Tierra Del Fuego. It is about the only place that uses a local time of GMT -2 so we in Eastern time can celebrate New Year’s Eve and still get to sleep at a reasonable time. Traditional King Edward Point New Year celebrations are typically very sedate and look much like any other evening.
Yesterday was mine and Household 6’s 28t it anniversary. I found a new Mexican restaurant that was open for dining, and we had a decent meal in public. Went home had a glass of Bushmills, and crawled into bed. Must have survived, because here I am.

Had a visit last night from a long-time friend and mother of our favorite goddaughter, ate some blackeyes and cornbread, hugged her as she left for a long trip, and we hit the sack around 2300L.
Good to see each and every one of you here. We may be among the walking/crawling wounded, but by God’s grace we are here.

Navy Times stopped sending their hard copy snail mail because of the china virus and for lack of employees. I used to make a copy of the crossword puzzle for my sister and with no crossword puzzles to do, I started to do fill in puzzles which I purchase from Publix. I use a single edge razor and remove the glue binding and remove each page and use a clipboard to hold the stack of pages. Missing doing crossword puzzles, I went to Publix two days ago and purchased a crossword puzzle magazine and used the same process to remove the pages as I used in the fill in puzzle pages. I jump into the recliner around one or two in the afternoon every day and do the puzzles and when my eyes start to get sleepy, I put the clip board down and grab some nooners until around 4 to 4:30.
There’s been some comments on this thread from some folks who are seem to be just hanging on right now. I think it’s safe to say all the TAH community would, if we there, hold you and hug you. And we hope and pray you keep going and find your way.
My wife and I have been in a bit of grinder ourselves these past several years. Not as bad as some have had it but enough that life was one step at a time. Life has turned a page in our book and we find it easier now. I sincerely hope and pray that life turns to a better page for you. May God bless you and keep you.

I won 2,700 at the casino last night with a 200 buy in. My hope is that 2021 is like that but, I think I’m being optimistic. Best wishes all. Let’s hopefully meet in year.
NH is the only place I’m aware of doing poker, with possible exception of Turning Stone in NY or Mohegan in CT. Foxwoods just laid off all their dealers just before Xmas.
Most of the casinos in and around the Casa de Sparky Western Annex couldn’t rip those tables out fast enough.

Still here. I highly recommend Letterkenny to any of you dickweeds who need a funny as hell series to binge.
Season 9 just dropped last week. Binging it this weekend before heading back to the grind.
Slept through the neighborhood fireworks then the dog woke me to go out at 3 am thinking it was a normal weekday and we were going to leave at 5 to take my wife to work. Drank coffee and checked news online while the dog snored beside me. Niece (21) in the Philippines saw I was online so she checked in with me as she was getting ready to go to bed (8pm there).
We’re putting her through school to be a Physical Therapist, now in her 2d year. Did same for her brother (22) to be a Radiological Technician and now he works full time in a hospital. We petitioned for their immigration, along with my wife’s brother, 20 years ago when we almost adopted the kids (the ex-wife kept raising price for her signature) and then January 2020 we were notified pending Embassy interview they were approved for immigration and green cards, to include the brother-in-laws new wife… then COVID shut all immigration processing down.
We’ve got our fingers crossed that this is the year our household grows by 4 after the long wait.
Sorry, I was a little busy with kids and shit and also blowing stuff with the neighbor at the end of the street at the park because he was afraid to light “good” fireworks off in the front yard cause they were big and also cars driving by and shit.

I ain’t go no fucking answers BUT, I’m here, I’m good and I finally got gunzzz and ammmoooozozzz, so
just in case the shit hits the fan next week, I’ve got a little more than a pellet rifle.
Now I’m debating between: (step up from a .22LR)
1. A Kel-tec SUB-2000 Gen 2, 9 mm (next most popular and available ammo, in general but it’s going for about $0.50 a round) the Kel-Tec is a cheaper gun when it’s available around $500
2. Diamondback DB15 Elite, 7.62×39, semi auti, (also decent ammo popularity and availability at $0.30 a round now) cheaper ammo but the gun runs about $775-ish when it’s available.
We’ll see what the future brings when they’re in stock and the cost.
Thoughts on either or any other recommendations on a step up from .22LR besides the standard AR platform which can go from .22 to WTF apparently.
I already have a S&W M&P 15-22 on the way in about 8 weeks.

Lived through the COVID-19 and still plugging away in the ER, sticking strangers with sharp objects and getting paid for it. Hope 2021 is a better year.
Popped a few hundred rounds with a couple of fellow retired Army buddies New Years Eve afternoon (one is a retired SGM who had us do a police call on the brass). (smile)
Had a couple of close friends over that evening with good conversation, good food (no booze) and flung rubber rubber finger chickens at each other.
