Defending Obama
This story kinda pisses me off.
Look, if I thought Obama deserved it, I would jump all over this like Oprah on a Christmas Ham, but damn people. It is the White House, if they tell you to be there at 9:30 am, you should be there by 7:30. It’s not the polaroid shack at the mall. When I went to the oval office on my birthday a few years ago, I got to the gate 2 hours early, even though my office is precisely 700 meters from the White House. All those kids crying should go and kick the teacher in the kneecap, because if you don’t plan on traffic tie ups in DC then you really need your head examined.
And anyone that thinks Obama had any control over this is ridiculous. You want to bash Obama, I give you Rolling Thunder not expecting Obama greeting.
And I don’t care if these booger eaters were 7 seconds late, I wouldn’t let them in. On time means 5 minutes early, standing in formation. Your right foot is not to move.

Amen. But since I hate the Steelers I’m going to side with the kids. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
In ’07 I was a guest for my brother’s photo op with Bush. We left Thurmont, MD before 8:00 am for a photo that was scheduled in the afternoon.
Who the hell shows up late and thinks the President is going to wait on them?
Amen.
Parents say they are 10 minutes late. Which is still late.
They were actually 1 hour late, but the WH was going to keep their slot open for 45 minutes.
How about some hard journalism? Did the last kid that the bus had to wait for get a pink belly from his classmates? Did the mommy/chaperone that had to go potty one last time get a blanket party on the way home? What about the teacher using Mapquest to find out that it only takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to go from Stafford to DC (at 3 am on a day when the Government is closed because of a stop gap spending bill not passing)?
Life is full of disappointments and 99% of them won’t be your fault. And it only cost these kids $20 bucks to find out.
Wow, I am in a good mood today….
It is good to teach those kids about responsibility early in life. Blame the school administrators for not properly planning the trip, not the Pres and especially not the Super Bowl Champion Steelers. The Sniper must be a Ravens/Browns/Redskins/Cowboy/Patriots or another loser team’s fan that doesn’t have 6, yes six, super bowl championship rings, but everyone has a fault I suppose
When I was in the AF honor guard in 1983 we were on our way to Williamsburg to set up a cordon for Pres. Reagan for his arrival at the Economic Summit meeting. Our bus broke down and the Marines were called in to fly the joint service honor guards to Langley for his arrival. We were a little late getting set up, but AF One took a extra pass so we could get in place…so yes the Pres. can wait.
The only stealer I like is Najeh Davenport. And only because he’s the only guy I’ve ever heard of who got in trouble for going the bathroom in a coeds laundry basket.
Everyone at HotAir is saying Obama should have just let the kids and Steelers in together, but that doesn’t seem all that fair to the Steelers who in fairness did win the right to visit the Prez without little urchins underfoot.
5 minutes early is 10 minutes too late.

But then, I care even less about pro sports. And even less about this White House trying to schedule photo-ops.
The word curmudgeon comes to mind.
It would be quite reasonable to ask “why the hell is he bothering?”
Answer: I can’t find enough places to cite W.C. Fields.

Another reason to hate the fucking Squealers…
Well to quote an old squad leader… “If your on time your LATE! Sorry Kids maybe next year… Hopefully they’ll be kids from Cleveland or Atlanta. Whats a “curmudgeon”?
Ahh… come on…
I like the quote from one of the parents. To paraphrase: Here he is, Obama, touting to be for the middle class people, but then he shuts out the middle class to throw a party for millionaires.
