Former State Trooper, Army Vet Gets Probation for Falsifying Firearms Document

| October 5, 2020

A now-retired Pennsylvania State Trooper and Army Veteran of Bosnia and Iraq has used his PTSD to get out of a prison sentence.

The story of Trooper Chad Corbett goes back a few years. In 2017 he was charged with sexually assaulting, strangling, and physically abusing a woman at his home. He’d been a trooper since 2005. From an article about the arrest and his suspension from the force;

The woman reported having swelling on the back of her head and a lower jaw misalignment. [Investigators] saw bruising on her arm and cuts on her wrist, he said.

She told investigators that Corbett hit, kicked and strangled her, struck her head against the floor and abused her sexually, according to the complaint.

A few months later, Corbett, still facing these serious felony charges, allegedly lied on federal firearms forms when he was trying to get two pistols back.

Corbett, 40, of New Derry, was convicted in February [2020] of a felony charge of falsifying public records and a misdemeanor count of making a false statement. Prosecutors said Corbett intentionally misrepresented his criminal record on March 6, 2018, when he completed required paperwork in order take back ownership of two service revolvers at the Army-Navy Store in Latrobe.

At trial, Corbett maintained he simply made a mistake when he failed to disclose pending felony charges related to allegations he physically and sexually assaulted a woman in September 2017. Those counts were eventually dismissed on March 23, 2018, more than two weeks after the alleged falsification incident, as part of a deal in which he pleaded guilty to a summary harassment count and paid a $300 fine.

I don’t know how a police officer “forgets” that he’s facing rape and strangulation charges. Apparently the jury didn’t buy his excuse either. The judge, a Navy veteran, however seemed to buy into his line of crap about the PTSD making him do it.

Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Krieger conceded that Chad Corbett, who served 11 years in the state police before retiring with a disability in 2017, should be held to a high standard but that he could not overlook his Army service and resulting mental health issues he still endures from his deployments.

“I do not believe there is any sense to incarcerate Mr. Corbett,” Krieger said during the sentencing hearing. “He will never be a police officer again, and he will suffer all the consequences of being a convicted felon.”

Krieger, a Navy veteran, rejected a prosecution request to send Corbett to jail for 11 1/2 to 23 months and order him to serve three years on probation.

He’s got a dog though…

In court Friday, Corbett testified with an emotional support dog on his lap. He said he still suffers from post-traumatic stress related to a deployment in Bosnia in 2001 and a tour of duty in Iraq in 2003.

“I have extreme anxiety and I don’t like large crowds. I have trouble focusing, and there were times I couldn’t get out of bed for two or three days. I still have bad days, but I am able to recognize when they are coming and reach out for help,” Corbett said.

I’m also not sure how anxiety and a distaste for large crowds (which I also share) have shit all to do with rape, assault, and lying on federal forms. The prosecution pointed out how cops know better and need to be held to a higher standard.

Assistant District Attorney Mike Pacek, also a veteran, thanked Corbett for his service but said that as a police officer he knew he was breaking the law when he intentionally misrepresented his criminal record. Most police officers uphold the law and are trusted in their jobs. Just a small number are bad apples, Pacek told the judge.

“They (bad cops) need to be made an example of to show the public they can follow the rules. A jail sentence here could be a deterrent to show judges are holding bad cops accountable,” Pacek said.

His defense attorney has the best line in this whole mess;

Defense attorney Fran Murrman argued that Corbett was found guilty of a nonviolent crime and that he has remained out of trouble since his arrest more than two years ago.

He’s been out of trouble since he got arrested for all those felonies, you see! I think Murrman needs some love from Senior Drill Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman;

Well, no shit. What have we got here, a fucking comedian? Counselor Joker? I admire your honesty. Hell, I like you. You can come over to my house and **** my sister.

Hmmmm…My dislike of large crowds, anxiety of being low on cookies…or sausage gravy with biskits…or a lack of nooky, has yet to make me want to beat up or sexually assault wimmens, not has it given me an overwhelming desire to “make mistakes” and “forget about felony charges” to lie on Federal Forms.

Must be the fact that I have about 5 “emotional support” animals? Could be the self medication I do with Top Shelf Whiskey, Yuenglings, and a good seegar now and again? Or maybe, it’s because I’m not a piece of sh^t person? Here’s a novel idea; Let the punishment fit the crime. He beat up and sexually assaulted a person. Let him be beat up and sexually assaulted. I’m sure that Bubba and the Boys, or maybe even “Strap On Sally” and her Girls would look forward to administering said punishment.

You say that like you think he would dislike it… sure about that?

And I wonder if he kept the service dog in the back of his state trooper car?

Are FAKE Service Dogs still a thing?
Around this (northeast) part of the USA,
a majority of dogs with vests and patches….. are PETS.

Looking at the Elko (Nevada) POW*MIA Awareness Ass.,
the resemblance to Fake Service Dogs (pets)… is uncanny.

Yes, an old photo of daily double Stolen Valor still sits (shits)
on the Elko POW*MIA Awareness Ass. webpage above.

CIB LTC Ron DaRonche.

This turd will shit all over himself, sooner or later. Let’s hope Chad Corbett keeps his hands, and other bits to himself.

And Hillary still walks free.

“felony charge of falsifying public records and a misdemeanor count of making a false statement…”

She’s a insider
She’s above the law

Hack Stone

She’s an insider, alright. An insider threat. If Hack Stone pulled the shit she did, he couldn’t get a job bagging groceries at the commissary. She gets to run for a President.

What are the odds Durham and Barr
Will release a report before the election????

Or are we voters to dumb to know the truth

Chris Rock blames Hillary….
but not for that.

Ah…the “private defense”. I didn’t know, nobody told me, I forgot.

I think I ran across his lawyer in the barracks a few times over the years.

I want to know how he treats the dog. People who beat up others weaker than themselves also tend to abuse pet animals.

“I have extreme anxiety and I don’t like large crowds. I have trouble focusing…”

I got the PTSD!! Lock up your wives and sisters and hide your valuables, ’cause here I come!

Fuck that guy with a pineapple. Fronds first.
