Falling Confederate Statue Hits Protester’s Head

Protesters take statue down. One of the protesters gets injured. (The Donald Win)
Protesters toppled a Confederate statue in Portsmouth, VA. When the protesters succeeded, the statue came down. It injured one of the protesters in the head during its fall. The president of Black Lives Matter 757 provided a graphic detail.
From Newsweek:
The president of Black Lives Matter 757, Aubrey JaPharii Jones, who witnessed the collapse, told WAVY-TV: “There was a gentleman directly in front of the statue. When the statue finally did give way…it fully hit him in the head. His skull was actually showing and he was convulsing on the ground. He lost a great amount of blood.”
The man was hospitalized and sustained serious injuries, Sergeant Misty Holley of the Portsmouth Police Department confirmed.
Portsmouth Police Department Chief Angela Greene told reporters that no order from her was given for officers to ignore the destruction of property. She noted an elected official directed them to let the vandalism occur and that no arrests were to be made.
The soldier statue was part of a Confederate monument featuring three other statues that were also pulled down on Wednesday.
Protesters began pulling down the monument around 8:20 p.m. local time using a rope which later snapped, The Virginian-Pilot reported. Flames burned briefly at the base of one of the statues after a flag tied to the monument was reported to have been set on fire.
Portsmouth police warned residents to avoid the area of the monument in a post on its official Twitter account just after 10 p.m. local time saying: “The Portsmouth Police Department is asking all citizens to avoid the area of Court Street at High Street as they disperse demonstrators and investigate an incident that resulted in a citizen getting injured.”
The crowd was said to have thrown bricks at the monument before starting to dismantle it piece by piece, while a marching band played and other protesters danced.
Newsweek has the full story here. Thanks to everyone who mentioned this incident.

His skulduggery caused his skull to get dug deep.
The statue won by a knockout.
To paraphrase Mike Tyson: “everyone has a plan ’till they get their domepiece split by a Confederate statue.”
In this case, nobody had any real plan other than to act like barbarians raiding a city. Having a plan in place to deal with falling statues could have helped.
Not having a plan in the first place allowed the Confederacy to “strike back” long after it was defeated.
“…a gentleman…” No, I’d say it was a destructive thug that has no knowledge of history or appreciation of where he was born and the advantages that have been offered to the black race for the last 150 years. Amazing that a small portion of 13% of the population is dictating how the other 87% should act and live.
Good to see that the Statues are fighting back. I guess, now, that someone can honestly say that they have been hurt by a statue.
I honestly wonder what kind of punishment would be meted out if someone vandalized/destroyed an MLK Jr. statue. Or how much police protection would be given to one of his.
Great point KOB, amazing how people misuse that word all the time. This shit needs to be stopped, and stopped now.
No matter what you think of the War between the States, it is our history. An honest conversation, discussing not only the root causes behind the war, but the motivations of the individual soldiers involved (often the ones honored with these statues) should take. This way, people have a better understanding of what happened and why, and with luck, a repeat of the conflict could be avoided.
Thing is, these thugs don’t want a conversation, or understanding, they want to remain ignorant of any history that doesn’t fit their worldview, and attack and destroy anyone and anything that challenges that worldview.
On that subject, you make a great point about MLK.
Agree with KoB and Fyrfighter.
These guys want things to go their way. They are driven by anger, control, and narcissism. Many of them grew up being able to get their way. Then, when society pushes back and shows a different viewpoint, and tries to show them that they are disillusioned, these thugs react the way they react. Throw in the “racist” accusation in addition to their tantrums.
That person could also say that he was “attacked” by a Confederate Soldier. Just leave out the fact that it was a statue.
He will file a lawsuit against the city and white people for his injuries. Place your bets.
Can’t sue “white people” as a class.
And it is weird you put it in those terms.
Just wait. It’s coming. Also it wasn’t weird. I suppose you haven’t caught on to all of the “weird” things going on. What I wrote is the new normal.
All Americans should be treated equally under the law?
Is that the “new normal” you are talking about?
We are treated equally under the law. What gave you the idea we weren’t? What you see in the media? What you hear from the dems? Is that where you got that? Wake up “woke one”
Are you against the fact that all Americans should be treated equally under the law? Or are you of the opinion that some people are more equal than others? How can equal treatment under the law be a bad thing?
How are you enjoying Seattle? Find any good coffee shops?
Do you or do you not believe in the principle of equal protection under the law, Lars? Simple yes or no question, no need for your usual TLDR.
He can’t answer that question, TOW.
He doubtless supports progressive taxation, which is deemed “fair” because the rich “have greater ability to pay”. Such progressive taxation is part of Federal income tax laws – which were pushed by
Socialist“Progressive” politicians beginning almost with the inception of the Federal income tax.So to answer truthfully, he would have to answer that no, he does not approve everyone receiving equal treatment under the law. I don’t think he’ll make any such statement here.
If he answers yes, he’s just said he doesn’t approve of progressive taxation – which is anathema to a
Socialist“Progressive” such as Commisar Wumao (五毛). He can’t do that, either. So my guess is that he’ll simply not answer the question. And when pressed, he’ll likely claim he never saw the question in the first place – just like he did when I repeatedly questioned him about Kennedy’s congratulatory message to Khrushchev following Gagarin’s orbital flight a couple of years ago.
It is fair because the rich benefit more financially from the political economy, the society at large, and the current social contract.
So it’s fair to penalize me for working to improve my value to an employer, who in turn raises my wages, so the IRS can raise my taxes?
Everybody has their hand in my pocket, gimme gimme gimme.
Where’s my reward for working hard, living within my means, having zero debt, and being responsible?
It’s been used to fund other “more important to society” free shit.
I guess it’s in the satisfaction of helping the disenfranchised and downtrodden?
Hell I don’t know man. According to politicians, celebrities and the leftists, we’re the problem.
“ According to politicians, celebrities and the leftists, we’re the problem.”
In other words, according to the people who created and continue to perpetuate the problem.
Commissar, nice switch in terminology. The subject was “equal” treatment under the law, and even a moron can not claim that a progressive tax structure treats everyone “equal”.. fair is a different issue (hint, a progressive tax isn’t fair either), so you’re just switching the subject, and failing to address the original question.
So in other words, you just don’t like the fact that some people have more than you. Here’s a thought, Lars: try working for it!
I do.
You say that, yet you’ve been shilling for lynch mobs since this whole mess started, calling everything, including the riots, “justified.” This despite the fact that Chauvin was already going down and looking at hard time, and his onlookers were already unemployed and looking at the real possibility of being charged as accessories. You bitch about the system being broken when it was in fact working as advertised. What more were you looking for?
Never mind the fact that Minneapolis has been run exclusively by your own fellow-travelers for 47 years, so any and all problems with racism have been either tolerated or ignored by the same politicians who are now complaining.
Waiting for the extended version of “DA ORANGE MAN IS KEEPIN’ MY ASS DOWN!”
Isn’t that exactly what “reparations” would be? And JB is correct, it will happen (not saying a judge will allow it to proceed, that will depend on who appointed the judge).
Another great legal opinion from Captain Obvious of the make believe JAG corps. But kudos for being terse. Thumbs got tired?
I think the tweet is entirely correct and the “incompetent leadership of the city has met its match.”
The Rest Of The Story. This is becoming a “She Said VS She Said” Blame Game with lots of Finger Pointing and no one taking responsibility as to what happened. Ironically, Folks are questioning why the Portsmouth Police did not prevent the accident from happening. Defund the Police? Yeah, right. You Be The Judge. “Sen. Lucas Calls For Immediate Firing of Portsmouth Police Chief Following Protest at Confederate Monument” https://www.wavy.com/news/local-news/portsmouth/sen-lucas-calls-for-immediate-firing-of-portsmouth-police-chief-following-protest-at-confederate-monument/ “A Virginia senator is calling for the immediate firing of the Portsmouth police chief following a protest that resulted in a person being hospitalized with serious injuries and the destruction of a Confederate monument.” “Sen. Louise Lucas told 10 On Your Side that she believes Portsmouth Police Chief Angela Greene “abdicated her responsibility to maintain peace and failed to uphold the law” during the protests after demonstrators began to vandalize and destroy the monument. Lucas said that Greene should be fired “immediately” by Portsmouth City Manager Dr. Lydia Pettis-Patton.” “The protest began peacefully on Tuesday night when demonstrators, including the Portsmouth NAACP, gathered at the monument and covered it with sheets and plastic bags.” “The demonstrators called for the removal of the monument, which has been sitting on Court Street in the middle of downtown for 127 years.” “The protest continued peacefully on Wednesday, with members of the Portsmouth NAACP, including President James Boyd and Vice President Louie Gibbs, spending hours in front of the statue calling for it to be removed from the public street.” “NAACP member Onyx Hicks said that Greene gave the NAACP permission to be at the monument and within the gates around it as long as there was not any permanent damage done to the structure.” “Tensions began to rise just before noon when Boyd and Gibbs were arrested by Portsmouth police officers and charged with trespassing while standing within the gate surrounding the monument. The men were taken from the scene of the monument in handcuffs and brought to the Portsmouth City Jail before being released.” “Lucas, who represents Portsmouth in the Virginia General Assembly, told 10 On Your Side that she got a… Read more »
Why isn’t anyone blaming the PROTESTERS for Chris Green’s Injuries?
Asking For A Friend.
“Get them out of sight,” they said. “Put them in a cemetery, they’ll be safe there,” they said.
One of many that have been moved from a downtown location to a cemetery, “to be kept safe and out of sight.” Also one of many in cemeteries that has been vandalized or destroyed. This one is from 2018 and has been repaired and remounted.
https://www.statesboroherald.com/local/vandals-topple-confederate-statue-sylvania/
Surely you can’t be asking these people to employ a little personal responsibility!
It’s inconceivable!
It makes too much sense…
That chief needs to attend a refresher course on who can and cannot give orders to a city police department. A state senator has no, absolutely no, authority to give orders to a city police department. Well, maybe she does, cuz she’s “WOKE“? And, it is Virginia, maybe Governor Blackface gave her super powers?
I was thinking the same thing. The wife was pointing her fingers at other factors that lead to her husband’s head injury… But not at her husband for putting himself into a dangerous situation. Someone went around as part of a crowd that pulled the statue down. That someone was too close to the statue that was being pulled.
Statue being pulled + statue falling down + people in the fall area = someone could get hurt.
Go Fund Me site for the individual (Chris Green) who was injured during the protest:

If he succumbs to the injuries, they can use that money to erect a statue in his honor.

How about a go fund me for some of these folks?

“Monuments Can Be Replaced – Lives Cannot’: Portsmouth Mayor Defends Police Department’s Decision Not To Intervene During Protest”
https://www.wavy.com/news/local-news/portsmouth/monuments-can-be-replaced-lives-cannot-portsmouth-mayor-defends-police-departments-decision-not-to-intervene-during-protest/
“Mayor John Rowe says Portsmouth Police made the correct call not to act as protesters vandalized the downtown Confederate monument Wednesday night.”
“Our police department made the right choice – confine the vandalism to this one piece of public property so as to protect the remaining private property and lives,” Rowe said in an official statement Thursday afternoon.”
“It is Rowe’s belief that police involvement could have created more damage and injuries, as seen in other cities.”
“We can repair property; we cannot bring back a life that is lost in these demonstrations,” said Rowe.”
“Wednesday night after the protest, Portsmouth Police Chief Angela Greene said she never gave her officers an order to ignore the destruction of the monument.”
“10 On Your Side reached out to the Portsmouth Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, which confirmed Thursday it did not give direction to any police agency regarding enforcement during the destruction of the monument. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Shea Coleman also confirmed their office has not initiated any independent investigations.”
I wonder if these statues would be vandalized if they replaced the Confederates with these Black People.
https://listverse.com/2017/06/06/top-10-black-slaveowners/
Or, they could’ve done what the Virginia Beach Police Department did when knuckleheads tried to re-enact Minneapolis here. The police came prepared and the rioters chose to run.
The wife of Chris Green made this comment:
“Tonieh said she supports people’s right to protest, “but do it in a peaceful manner. There was no need to do all of that especially while there were so many people around that statue knowing that somebody’s going to get hurt.”
“Now Green’s wife said she was upset that protesters “didn’t think” when they pulled the statue down.”

And more interesting tidbits from the same article cited above:
“Green’s wife said she hadn’t decided if she would pursue legal action against the city.”
“Portsmouth City Council held an emergency meeting earlier in the day and decided on a July 28 hearing to decide on the fate of the monument which has been near the intersection of Court Street and High Street in Olde Towne since the late 1800s.”
“During the meeting, council members raised concerns about people’s safety after protesters earlier in the day Wednesday started climbing and spray-painting the monument.”
“Councilman Nathan Clark said, “I watched several videos today that showed individuals climbing on the monument. If one of those had fallen off onto that new fence that is there and impaled themself and seriously injured or killed, I would believe that the city would have the lawsuit filed against us.”
“Clark added that he thought a taller fence should be put up around the monument.”
“I agree that, I’m very concerned about the vandalism. And there were even children climbing up on there. Saw one little boy that couldn’t have been more than 10 or 11 years old. He was barely as tall as the fence, and he was up by one of the soldier statues and then climbing down and over the fence, and that is concerning that somebody could get hurt.”
“The city manager, who was part of the emergency meeting, said she was looking into putting up a taller fence.”
“The Portsmouth Police Department asked Virginia State Police (VSP) to handle the investigation into what happened to Green.”
“Sgt. Michelle Anaya with VSP said that the Portsmouth Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office will determine if charges will be filed.”
Sue the city? WTBF? A hoodrat is going to sue the city for injuries sustained while committing hoodrattery?
Friend:
Notice that it seems no one is putting the blame on the Protesters?
Who Shot John.
– hoodrattery
Thank you, Friend. I gots me a new word!
“Flatlined”
The jokes just write themselves.
I saw on twitter just minutes later…
#flatlivesmatter
…twitter is a bunch of savages.
She also stated that she didn’t go to the protests. She knew something like this could happen and probably tried to warn the husband about it.
Was it Colonel Wig Splitter…???
Whatever it was, he’ll be experiencing some splitting headaches.
Count Dankula on Twitter just had a post where someone defaced a statue of Robert the Bruce in Scotland claiming he was a “racist”. Of course he lived in the 1300s and probably didn’t even know that Black people existed, but that won’t stop our modem vandals. The other day the statue of a noted abolitionist in Philadelphia was defaced, the pig ignorant “protesters” are just spoiled children out to destroy.
https://www.baltimoresun.com/opinion/readers-respond/bs-ed-rr-confederate-baltimore-20170822-story.html
Above is the link to a story of how Baltimore Mayor “Big Tommy” D’Alesandro (Father of Nancy Pelosi) dedicated a statue to Stonewall Jackson & Robert E. Lee. In his speech he said:
“We must remain steadfast in our determination to preserve freedom, not only for ourselves, but for other liberty-loving nations who are striving to preserve their national unity as free nations. In these days of uncertainty and turmoil, Americans must emulate Jackson’s example and stand like a stone wall against aggression in any form that would seek to destroy the liberty of the world.”
I’m guessing Speaker Mrs. McBotox has no problem with those statues.
The ignorance on display is not just depressing, it’s disturbing. Then again, we were warned about this.
“War is peace
Freedom is slavery
Ignorance is strength”
The trading that occurred between the Islamic World and the Christian World would’ve lead to Robert the Bruce and his contemporaries learning of blacks.
However, trying to claim that he exercised racism against the blacks would’ve been taking things to the extreme with regards to assumptions.
IMHO it’s just a bunch of stupid little shits out to destroy what the authorities will let them. As to the one injured, play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
A bunch of spoiled brats who expect to get their way, who think that their predicaments is a result of outright racism and discrimination and not from their history of poor judgement calls.
Portsmouth and Newport News, Virginia, both part of Hampton Roads.
This happened this past January.
There were no protests. No national attention.
Why?
“Navy Veteran Turned Police Officer Killed In The Line of Duty In Virginia”
https://taskandpurpose.com/news/navy-veteran-turned-police-officer-killed-in-the-line-of-duty-in-virginia
“The police officer killed during a traffic stop in Newport News on Thursday night was a well-liked young officer who just graduated from the police academy seven months ago, Police Chief Steve Drew said at a somber news conference Friday.”
“Katherine M. “Katie” Thyne, 24, a mother of a 2-year-old daughter, is a former Navy sailor who began with the department as a recruit in November 2018, graduated from the academy in June, and was recently assigned to the South Precinct as a patrol officer.”
“Thyne’s death Thursday evening during a drug investigation on 16th Street — during which she was dragged about a block and pinned between the fleeing car and a tree — is the Newport News Police Department’s first line-of-duty death in more than 25 years, with two officers having been lost in 1994.”
The man who fled Thursday’s traffic stop, identified as Vernon Evander Green II, 38, of Newport News, is charged with felony homicide, a form of second-degree murder for accidental killings that occur during the commission of other another felony. He was also charged with marijuana possession and felony eluding.”
And there is more:
“Feds Could Have Locked Up Officer Thyne’s Murderer Months Before She Was Killed. They Refused To.”
https://www.lawenforcementtoday.com/feds-could-have-locked-up-officer-thynes-murderer-months-before-she-was-killed/
Yup. Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and others are also a part of the group.
They’re trying to rebrand “Hampton Roads” as “Coastal Virginia”.
Was OHSA called? Did the vandals have appropriate safety folks stationed at the work site? Did everyone have eye protection? Gloves?
How many were congregated? Were they properly masked up?
The city should have provided all that, right??
OWB
Typo. It’s OSHA
It all could have been avoided if a reflective safety vest was used. The question is, should Mr. Green or the statue be wearing that vest?
The riggers union is not amused.
The crane operators union is not amused.
Never try to topple a statue without consulting a
professional engineer.
Call an Army engineer. They have det cord.
They had veterans in the group. With composite risk management, and its equivalent, pushed to the ranks, these veterans could’ve exercise such… Statue will fall a certain distance… Extend that distance… Don’t try to pull statues until people are well clear of the outer distance, etc.
This shows the poor judgment that dominates the lives of the individuals involved in these demonstrations.
Unfortunately, they’re too blind to this reality and think that they are not at fault for their life predicaments… Or for this mishap.
Obviously, the vandal in the hospital wasn’t wearing a hard hat. There needs to be an OSHA investigation and citations most ricky tic.
He would have been better off a head of his getting hit on the head if he wasn’t standing a head of the statue. I hope I’m not getting ahead of myself saying that he may have been too head strong by attending the destruction of history. Ok, time to get ready to head out to the dentist for a cleaning and that’s the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth. See you later aligator, so long by byyyyyyyyyyy.
Heads are going to roll over this fiasco.
Hack;
Heads are going to roll over this fiasco./Groan,groan,groan
We’ve all seen people lose their heads over even less.
He was trying to get ahead in his cause. I don’t think that he was going to be getting head this way though.
Another COVID-19 victim?

I’m a compassionate man, ergo I don’t want to see anyone hurt. Here’s the but: if you’re hurt by your own stupidity, or needless proximity to stupidity, I have ZERO sympathy for you.
I hope those images stay with those children til their dying day.
You EARNED that, f-ckos.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It was just a question of time before one of those morons forgot about those nasty laws like physics and gravity. Sorry the idiot got hurt, but his actions caused it; he’s lucky Darwin didn’t decide to come into play a bit harder. To those who think pulling down statues is a good idea, if you really want to make a point why not get a carload of like minded morons and try playing chicken with a bridge abutment named for a racist (or someone you think might have been but wasn’t).
If they’re out engaging in destruction of property, chances are they didn’t pay attention in class… Or they avoided certain classes the way Superman would avoid kryptonite.
I was watching Hannity, and they were showing on a split screen that other statues were pulled down. Next, they went “live” to Portsmouth, VA where a mob was defacing and trying pull down more Confederate statues. I was thinking “These clowns are going to pull one of these things down on top of themselves”. Not 10 seconds later boom! Hit him right in the head. You couldn’t see much because the TV camera was away from the crowd, but you tell by the mob’s reaction. Cell phone video played later showing people yelling “Medic!”. I guess all that ‘Call of Duty’ in the basement finally paid a dividend. This typifies these losers…not adults because they aren’t thinking about what could go wrong…something goes wrong, BAM!!!!…Mommy! Mommy! He gets no sympathy from me.
Mom: But if your friend jumped off the roof, would you too????
I suppose today the answer would be an unqualified “YES!”
Sad.
I was stationed at Navy Medical Center Portsmouth, which is not too far from the monument, from 2013-2016. The monument itself was impressive. At the base of the monument an inscription read, “To our Confederate dead.”
The protester getting injured pulling down the monument I consider revenge from beyond the grave.
I started my day with a full load of fucks, and this dumbass gets not a single one.
Like you, my fucks are not given out lightly. What’s the net worth for me if I have to give out one of my precious fucks?
I try to save them up so when I do have to
give one I can give a really good one.
Behold my field…my barren, barren field! It is as empty as my final ex-wife’s heart. And just as cold!

Gravity is racist.
Gravity is keeping me down.
OT but related. CHAZ “authorities” had to call 911 and remove the “autonomous border barriers“ to allow in the Seattle Fire Department to put out a raging dumpster fire. Let the metaphors flow; not one of CHAZ’s finest moments…
https://mobile.twitter.com/jason_howerton/status/1271255018763694081
FD should have said something along the lines of “I’m sorry, your signs clearly say “now leaving USA”, and we have no jurisdiction outside the United States. Please rest assured that should this fire escape your borders and threaten structures / citizens IN the United States, we will respond and take appropriate action”
Have a nice day.
It’s obvious that this is nothing new.
But it isn’t the 1960s. I doubt that any of these dullards rioting have a clue about Martin Luther King or the low-key protest marches. People who dislike calm protests and a reasoning approach don’t like that. They want violence and destruction, which is why stores in Washington, DC, were broken into, looted and set on fire when Dr. King was assassinated.
Yes, that is only one of the things that happened, and since I worked in Anacostia, DC, when I looked out the windows of the 2nd floor at NPC, there was smoke rising over the Capitol building. The CO came on the PA system and told us all to go home, but don’t take the usual way. Took me three hours just to get home, but only because traffic was a jammed-up mess. And then the phone lines were so swamped that I couldn’t get a call out until the next day.
Violent protests aren’t anything new. Happened in France when Louis and his ditzy spendthrift wife were still NOT in prison, awaiting execution. And there were all those other “protests” as Martin Luther nailed his theses to a cathedral door. There were Corn Riots in England in the early 19th century, over the price of grain.
N.B.: ALL grain was referred to as corn. It wasn’t maize, which we call corn.
Here’s an episode of pure violence in 2011, when London was set on fire. I watched that happening, wondering how long before that kind of crap happens here. Now I know: it only takes the amount of time required for a bunch of self-centered jackasses to start something like this and then blame it on “other”.
Also, clieking on the ABC link will block it, but if you do a secondary click on the YouTube link, it’s available.
Nothing has changed at all. It’s quite plain that these people don’t want change. They just want destruction. They should be careful what they wish for.
I live in Hampton Roads, and the trouble in Portsmouth (it’s called ‘P-Town’ or Pistol Town around here), started long ago and has nothing to do with that monument. Look up the mayor, city council, and police chief drama that’s been going on since at least 2010.
It is one of the worst managed cities in the Tidewater region, which includes such gems as Newport News (Bad Newz to the locals). Look up Bad Newz or PistolTown 757 on YouTube for some local flavor.
For context, Hampton Roads, which includes Norfolk, is incredibly rich in Civil War history. Portsmouth itself should be a gem- historic buildings, churches, a nice waterfront, etc. The monument pulled down was on High Street, which could really be a very nice waterfront downtown area. However, due to the long term poor management of the city government, that tiny area is really the only place in Portsmouth that is safe- even then, you don’t want to stay much past 2200.
So, yeah, I think taking down the monuments is an interesting discussion, but Portsmouth has LOTS more to worry about.
“taking down the monuments is an interesting discussion”
If there “were” a discussion. A mob toppling them is far
from discussing anything.
True enough, but the fact remains that the mob you saw in that video was there to be just that- a mob. That statue has been there since the 1890s in a predominantly black community with leadership that’s had multiple opportunities over the years to come up with all sorts of solutions to this- at one point in time there was actually a movement to replace the statue with one of Missy Elliot (the rapper).
Now, suddenly, everyone is interested in this monument and the problems in the community are due to systemic racism. This in a town where mayors and city council members over the years have led police on high speed chases through the city, misappropriated funds, and abused their staff. Portsmouth had a higher murder rate than Chicago in 2018.
if this shit bird dies, maybe his brain can be donated to science to find out what makes his brain tick which would cover all the ass holes destroying history. Amazing how a minority of ass holes can get TV shows cancelled, get people to apologize for standing up for the US by using their 1st A rights etc, etc, etc.
Humpty Dumpty stood on a ledge
Protesters decapitated him with only a sledge
Humpty said, “I’ll finally use my head”
Now one of the protesters is damned near dead
Moral of this story: Don’t F__k with “Humpty” or he will show the world your damaged-since-birth half-ass brain!
I like it, Jarhead.
ANTIFA has announced a mandatory safety stand down until all ANTIFA members take remedial Monument Toppling Training are issued reflective PT belts, safety goggles and steel toed Crocs.
No abstract flower-painted PVC helmets? And steel jockstraps in spite of none wearing having the need? If you gots no balls, ya doesn’t have the need for de useless jstraps.
Then they will understand the PAIN of the Military and why Grunts should not be messed with.
Death by PowerPoint is the deepest wound I have and NO amount of bourbon will ever heal it.
Wait until they have to endure; SHARP, EO, ROE, Army Values, POW training, Substandard Abuse Ed, Social Media Standards, etc.
Didn’t kill him?
Pity
They had veterans in their group. You’d think that maybe, just maybe, someone would’ve figured out the fall danger area, extended it, then ensured that everybody stayed out of the outer designated range until the statues were on the ground.
Instead, folks were close by, taking pictures, etc.
The title says that the man hit by the statue may sue the city, but within the article, it says that the man and his wife haven’t decided if they were going to sue the city or not.
https://www.gopusa.com/man-nearly-killed-during-attack-on-confederate-soldier-statue-may-sue-city/
Can you imagine trying to do a risk assessment brief with that crowd? The mob wants what it wants and won’t listen to caution or reason.
Or, perhaps her husband could’ve stood clear of the potential falling area. Had his back to the crowd trying to get them to move further back? Perhaps getting the people pulling the statue down to wait until the area is clear before resuming. The “range” was not “clear”.
The wife appears to want to blame others instead of seeing what her husband could’ve done to mitigate this risk. This happened in one of the cities that is a part of the metropolitan area that I’m in. I wasn’t injured because I wasn’t in the area… Nowhere near.
When the statue fights back:
https://thedonald.win/p/FzB8iwS2/when-the-statues-fight-back-/c/
It appears to me the statue did a good job. Maybe we are indebted to the statue so much that we should consider building another statue to honor the statue which put up a good fight.
