Security officer shoots alleged robbery suspect in head at local shopping center
SAN ANTONIO – An alleged robbery suspect has been shot in the head by a security officer and is in critical condition.
The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday at a shopping center near Rittiman Road and Melton Drive.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, two men attempted to rob the shopping center when they shot at a security officer on the scene.
The officer returned fire, striking one suspect in the head. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The second suspect fled but was found by police.
