Man with knife fatally wounded by police overnight in Little Village

A man who advanced toward officers holding a knife was fatally wounded overnight at an apartment building in the Little Village neighborhood, Chicago police said.About 2:10 a.m. Friday, officers were alerted about a man with a knife inside a sixth-floor apartment in the 3000 block of West 21st Place. When officers knocked on the apartment door the man confronted them holding a knife, and he was shot multiple times, police said.
Officers rendered aid to the man until medical help arrived. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Timothy Glaze, 58, of Little Village.

Mr. Glaze was a frequent flyer with the local constabulary, who brought guns to a knife fight.
Suspect dies after officer-involved shooting near busy Orlando intersection, police say
ORLANDO, Fla. – A man acting suspiciously and reportedly carrying a gun near a busy Orlando intersection was shot by a police officer Friday, authorities said.
Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith said officers were called around 2:20 p.m. about a man dressed in black and carrying a weapon at the intersection of John Young Parkway and Old Winter Garden Road.
When officers arrived, they encountered the man and repeatedly ordered him to drop the gun, Smith said. The man refused and was shot by an officer. He was transported to a hospital and later died, according to a release by OPD on Saturday. He was identified as 63-year-old Marvin Martin.
