Officer uses child’s bicycle while chasing down felony suspect
LONE TREE, Colo. (Gray News) – Even though a Colorado police officer was not near his squad car, he still managed to help chase down a fleeing theft suspect with a little help.
The police officer used a child’s bicycle to pursue the suspected felon.
The Lone Tree Police Department said Officer Jacob Tarr was trying to arrest the suspect who took off running after committing a felony theft.
The suspect jumped several fences and stole a motorized scooter while Tarr was in pursuit.
To keep up with the fleeing suspect, the department said Tarr “commandeered a kid’s bike to continue the pursuit.”
“The suspect might‘ve had a scooter, but Officer Tarr had determination, and a kid’s bike,” Lone Tree police shared on social media.
Tarr and other officers eventually caught the suspect and charged him with felony theft. It was also later discovered that the suspect had three additional outstanding warrants.
Police booked the suspect into the Douglas County Justice Center.
