I totally exceeded my Christmas wishes by being able to enjoy an evening with my favorite Wounded Warrior friend, SFC(R)Ranger Mike Schlitz and his family. I should, probably, do a blog post with photos of the evening, so I can share it all here. I have made 4 batches of my “private family recipe” Peanut Butter fudge this month. I love the stuff, and so do my friends.

Additional tidbit (poser buster question?):
The P-38 can also be used as a depth gage to set the gaps on the plugs and points for the M37 series of Army 3/4 Ton Trucks.
That’s from ancient times when the 3/4 was used to haul our flintlocks and cannon balls around the battlefield and the order “First Rank Kneel” was all the rage.
IIRC, those who are right-handed would normally use a P-38 by opening the lid clockwise starting at the 3 o’clock position. Lefties would do the opposite by starting at the 9 o’clock and going counter-clockwise.
An alternate method, less recommended, was for the lefty to go to his platoon sergeant, point out his special left-handed handicap, and politely ask to have his ham and mothers opened for him. However, this method only worked for those platoon sergeants with opposable thumbs.

When I was aircrew, the squadron decided to ramp back out per diem to something like $8 a day. Which sucked, since just getting breakfast on the base we deployed to cost something like $6. With the $8 we were paying to go on the road!

The lack of a charge per unit consumed, tends to lead to extravagant and wasteful use.
Why turn the lights off when out, or set the thermostat below 80 in January, if no charge per unit consumed?

Viewer Alert!!! Antenna TV is running a Jack Benny Marathon until 22:00 Eastern/0200 Zulu today. Antenna TV is one of those free channels when the broadcast channels went digital. You probably have the channel without even realizing it. A lot of these free digital channels show the classics. There is another channel named COMET that shows reruns of MST3K, but they run a 2 hour show to 2.5 hours with a boatload of extra commercials.
Dumb question time – how do you access free channels these days? We don’t get anything free. It’s been a very long time since I lived anywhere that had such a thing that I really didn’t know that they had gone digital! (Having free TV is probably the only thing I miss about living in a big city.)
If you have an over the air digital television receiver, you can get those digital channels for free. They are adjacent to the primary channel. In DC, the over the air channels are 4 (NBC), 5 (Fox), 7 (ABC), 9 (CBS), 20 (CW?), and 50. So the NBC channels would be 4.1, 4.2, 4.3. Each channel has two or three additional channels. They usually fill them with shows we all grew up watching, like The Munsters, Starsky & Hutch, Three’s Company, Star Trek. If you have a cable system, do a channel search for Antenna TV, Me TV, COZI, Comet TV, Get TV, Movies!
So that’s what you watch while hiding from the Hitmen? I wonder if any network airs “The Dukes of Hazzard” anymore, FUCK the PC crowd!
Yesterday afternoon I was watching a Season 2 episode of Starsky & Hutch. It was the infamous Huggy Bear and the Turkey, where the creative powers attempted to launch a spinoff show where Huggy Bear teams up with a goofy white sidekick to start their own private detective agency. Fortunately, ABC was wise enough to pass on this disaster. AS TO (see what I did there?) the goofy white guy, he did start his own private detective agency. It’s called Prudential Associates, and it is located in Rockville, MD.

The Crapernicks, as you well know, have not done very well this year. They have won 2 games but one of those—the first game of the season—their namesake did not play. He, Crapernick himself, has been particularly awful. My favorite game of his came on 4 December when he performed so poorly he was benched. Nevertheless, he’s a special guy to most of his team, the Crapernicks. Because of great play? Hell no. Overcoming personal obstacles? No. You know why. It’s because he takes a knee when the Star Spangled Banner is played. In recognition of that heroic act, the other day his team voted him its greatest team honor, the Len Eshmont Award, given for inspirational and courageous play. I’m not joking. I wish I were. I’m sure winning that award means more to him than anything else. It had better because he has nothing else to show for his piss-poor play this season.
And in keeping with a sports theme, my hometown basketball boys from West Hog Flats are 0-10 so far this season and boast of a -20 point spread between offense and defense.
If they do happen to win one, I’ll post it.
If you hear nothing else from me about it, that’ll mean they went 0-21 for the year.
Well, the silver lining is that they have a chance for a perfect season.
They had a chance at a perfect season last year also, but blew that by winning the fourth game of the season and ending up 1-22.
So far the new coach they hired last year (he’s an alumnus) is 1-32 and 6-70 overall in four years of coaching, so he has the knowledge of how to grab those losses from the jaws of victory.
Oh, well, cue the music to the French Fight Song.
But they have a long way to go before they can catch up to the school in the county directly to the south of West Hog Flats.
That school (who shall not be named, but they know who they are), from 2000 to 2006, went 7-119 with three perfect 0-21 seasons in a row to their credit.
So, yeah, those losing seasons are still the subject of a few heated discussions around the early morning coffee table at the café during the winter months when the farmers from both counties gather.
That’s funny.
CRAPernick and those sniveling snotnosed ingrate multimillionaire over-privileged brainless DWEEBS that copycatted him are the reason I quit watching the National Felon League this year, enough of the shit-for-brained candyassed PC BULLSHIT, DEATH TO POLITICAL CORRECTNESS! WHEN was the last time ANY of those twenty-something DWEEBS were told to get to the back of a bus, go to the end of the lunch counter, they were only allowed in the balcony of the theater,…? I grew up during the seventies and eighties in a racially mixed town knowing some older black people who actually were treated like that and none of them walked around with the chips on their shoulders that today’s PC snowflakes do, it was something that was overcome just like those who made it through the Great Depression were the ones who always looked for an opportunity to work and earn something versus today’s teen-and-twenties TODDLERS who waddle around with their hands out bawling about how life owes them everything because they’re alive and breathing. $15 and hour minimum wage? SHIT, I remember working for $3.35 an hour minimum wage frying burgers, mopping floors and tasks like that wanting to improve myself, my job skills, and education to earn better money. Medical Insurance back then while working for minimum wage back then? You’d get laughed at right and left with people thinking “FUCK your feelings!” and anyone crying for a “safe space” even on a college campus would get laughed at.
Ah, but don’t tell Goodell that’s the reason viewership is down 15-20% in most NFL markets.
Good news. The Crapernicks lost again. They had hopes of winning which makes the loss more sweet.

Nothing quite as pitiful, yet so very entertaining, as the willfully ignorant who assume that they and their opinions represent anything other than themselves and a few of their closest friends. It’s pretty easy to make that assumption when you carefully exclude anyone who does not talk just like you from your echo chamber.
Never in our history have so many displayed their delusions so proudly. Just because they have the right to act ignorant in public doesn’t mean that they should. Maybe the grown-ups can now get the infants to behave a bit more civilly.
