Terry Lee Farmer; another phony Vietnam Vet

| December 26, 2012

Someone sent us this article from KOKH Fox 25 in Oklahoma City about some veterans who teach kids about the US flag, which is a laudable enough venture. However, there’s one person in the article who is not being completely honest about his service. Terry Lee Farmer tells horrifying tales of his time in Vietnam;

“I went into the United States Marine Corps January 4, 1969,” says Terry Farmer, a Veteran and close friend of May’s.

Both May and Farmer served in Vietnam. They say the flag is what they fought for. “It’s not about us. It’s about the red, white and blue,” says Farmer.

“I saw my best friend…. get his head decapitated. That’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” says Farmer, tearing up.

Well, nothing is right about that story. Farmer did did not join the Marines on January 4, 1969, but rather on January 10th, 1971, and the rest is BS, too, according to his records;

Terry Lee Farmer FOIA

The word is that he was injured in Boot Camp and draws disability for his injury – there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. But I also hear that he blames some of his bad behavior on PTS from his non-existent tour in Vietnam. That’s never acceptable.

He spent three months in the Marines and never saw Vietnam. That’s Farmer on your right;

Terry Lee Farmer

Like I said, it’s commendable that Farmer is doing what he’s doing, Lord knows that kids need to learn more about the flag, but he can do it without making himself out to be something he’s not.

Head. Desk. Repeat.

Time for more coffee. Maybe a little bourbon in it this morning, just because.

No, it’s not commendable. He is lying about himself and, in the same presentation, is talking about Old Glory. What I would like to see these clowns do is leave the “I” out of these types of presentations. He could talk about the storied history of the USMC, including Iwo Jima and Mount Sirabachi. He could explain the meaning behind the Marine Corps hymn. He could select one or two MOH citations and read them. He could do any one or two of a million things that would be valuable and devoid of lies. He could also clean himself up if he’s going to represent himself to kids as a Veteran.

Biermann

But he did watch Full Metal Jacket at the Holiday Inn Express.

2-17 Air Cav

And I could learn to spell Suribachi. Sorry about that Marines.

Hack Stone

2-17 Air Cav@4, it is Marines Hymn, not Marine Corps Hymn. But, in the spirit of the holidays, all is forgiven. Belated happy holidays to all the real veterans out there. To all of the posers, we look forward to bashing you and exposing your lies in 2013.

2-17 Air Cav

@5. Well, hell, I’m 0-2. How about we go best out of 5?

CBSenior

He should just stick to delivering presents to kids. Where is his Sleigh?

WTF: Why can’t they just be happy about serving honorably and proudly.

I know a couple of fellow Ugly Angels(my Nam helo squadron)in Okc. Sgt.Grit is also located there. Time to call my friends.A burndown is on order. Joe

Sadly I finding out my own nephew is a fake….never saw a day of battle and yet tells people that he was in Desert Storm. He was home and out of the Army before it happened. Question, do I have to have his SSN to get an FOIA about him? Just want to prove him wrong!

HMCS(FMF) Ret

Another “Rice Paddy Daddy”… get so tired of these wannabes running around lying to the public, and hurting those of us that have served honorably. I’ll never understand it….

CWO5USMC

Someone needs to drop kick him in the jimmy and beat him with his Marine Corps league cover…..

Although I grow tired of all the fakers, it does make for good conversation around the office. 🙂

Another carpetbagger. Dontcha just wonder if he was super-secret squirrel Agent Orange? So secret, even Shadow Company didn’t know about him?

Oh!

Looks like the stereotypical “Vietnam Veteran Biker” type. As a motorcycle rider for over 30 years now, I run into these guys all the time. Some of them are the real deal but more than a few are FOS. I used to joke to my friends that in order to be a “real biker” you had to have the 5 mandatory patches on your biker vest:

1. DILLIGAF (look it up.)
2. Loud Pipes Save Lives
3. Helmet Laws Suck
4. Jane Fonda, American Traitor Bitch, and
5. SOMETHING about Vietnam.

The “Vietnam Veteran Biker” has become such an archetype in the motorcycle community (particularly the Harley community) that I think that guys who are of the appropriate age (which at this point is getting north of 60) and who weren’t in Vietnam feel they need to assume the role just to fit in (the irony, of course, is in the thought of someone faking Vietnam service so he can “fit in” with his buddies, many of whom are undoubtedly fakers as well.)

OWB

Green Thumb, going to just have to go with you on that one. It’s so much easier than trying to articulate a civil response to yet another tiresome idiot.

Ex-PH2

He needs more than one hair cut.

@ 14,looked it up. Heck, there is a site to buy t-shirts from. Learned something new today.

Last reported ceneus , the fake VNVs outnumbered us real ones at 5 to 1. They were the ones who were calling us and other actions thatwe all know. Joe

Joe Williams

Can anybody read what MCL chapter he joined?I do not think he can legally be in the MCL. Possible forged DD-214? Joe

CC Senor

@3 “I don’t care who ya are, that’s funny right there”

Bootcamp?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This turd and PFC stand-by-to-get-shot should create a group and fly directly into the sun.

Just an Old Dog

@19 Joe Williams. As far as the MCL thing its a borderline issue that most chapters miss. I had a long distance facebook chat with one of the Marines I served with about a guy who he worked with. He had known the guy for years and he never had talked about the Marine Corps. Then after 9-11 he starting coming to work talking about the Corps and joined the Marine Corps League. It turns out it had a DD214, not altered at all and that is all the chapter required. Turned out the guy never finished training and got the DD214, and ( later) some VA medical care due to a boot camp injury. He never claimed combat or rank, but even claiming the title is offensive enough. I talked to him via facebook and he seemed like a decent enough guy. It wasn’t his fault his chapter took him in without going deeper, He talked to his chapter president and offered to resign. After investigating, his chapter found out what I pretty much knew all along. You cannot be a full member of the MCL unless you completed recruit training. On the good side they were able to allow him to belong as an associate member, the difference being he cant vote on matters, run for office or wear the emblem. It worked out well as apparently the guy did a lot of community work with the MCL and other than not grasping the concept that an honorable discharge alone don’t make you a Marine, he wasn’t a poser. The guy in this article sounds like a full on asstard. They just need to completely kick his ass out and expose him.

Just an Old Dog

Love his 1000 yard stare, Also how his friend got “his head decapitated” ,,, WTF would their be another body part involved in decapitation? Fuggin’ tool.

Andy Kravetz

Also lost in all of this faking about Vietnam service is that so many people tried everything they could get to get out of going to SE Asia. It seems then it was a horrible place; now people are rushing to say they were there.

Andy in Peoria

Ex-PH2

Andy, that’s because so many real Vietnam in-country vets went to a lot of trouble to make sure that the Gulf War and subsequent vets would not go through what they went through after they came back to the US.

Now it’s okay to be a vet, you get stuff, you get attention, and the fakers want it.

Joe Williams

Andy, there are also, who feel less manly than the Nam Vets. This could also be why the protesters gave us so much resentment. Joe

Joe Williams

Think four white freathers.

popsmoke

Dear Lord…local news had this clown doing his flag deal at the Oklahoma City VA Hospital. I expect the local Marines will drop the hammer on him.

Look at this turd and his Vietnam Veterans hat with all those ribbons he doesn’t rate: http://www.okveteransflagprogram.com/images/Monroe_Elementary_11_5_2012.jpg

NHSparky

So lemme get this straight–three months in the Corps, never graduated boot. IIRC, and the Marines here can set me straight if incorrect, but he doesn’t even rate the title of Marine, does he?

NR Pax

@32: That is correct. If he didn’t graduate from Boot Camp, then he’s only a Recruit.

FatCircles0311

@32: If he didn’t graduate bootcamp he’s not a Marine in my book that’s for sure. I also don’t think that just because he receives disability benefits from bootcamp either makes him a Marine. In order to be a Marine you have to graduate Marine Corps bootcamp. Whomever let this turdo into the Marine Corps League has some serious explaining to do that’s for sure.

Here is the first requirements for Marine Corps League membership: “I hereby certify that I am currently serving or have served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps, on active duty, for not less than (90) days and earned the Eagle, Globe and Anchor.”

He clearly broke his oath of membership he signed as well going around being a phony baloney turd.

Green Thumb

@34.

I agree.

Turd.

Steve Lee

Terry Farmer is a liar, a fake, a women beater, and pedifile who did eronous things to my family. He was married to my mom and this man deserves to hung right next to saddam Hussein. He was in the marines but was hurt in basic training and does not deserve to even carry the title that he was in the marines. This man is a joke!

If he’s getting disability for a service connected injury (likely sustained at boot camp), then that’s the likely scenario. He spent close to 8 months on the depot and was discharged there – as a recruit (not a Marine). Unless something was different in 1971, you had to walk across the parade deck on graduation day to be considered a Marine. In Farmer’s case, he was an injured recruit and likely medically boarded and sent on his way. A DD214 is issued for 90+ days service (if I’m not mistaken), but I can’t explain his being awarded the NDSM as found on his FOIA document.

Hondo

USMCE8Ret: per 1650.1H, looks like he technically rates the NDSM. Any active duty in a regular component during the Vietnam period technically qualifies – even during basic training – even if the medal wasn’t typically awarded until after completion of same. (Reservists only rated it during that period if they qualified for a campaign or expeditionary medal or served on extended active duty – RC training or board tours did not count. Rules changed a bit for the ODS and GWOT periods.)

USMCE8Ret

@39 – Thanks Hondo. Makes sense.

TSO must envy that beard.

Truman Burette

His injury was a kick to the head in boot camp… and he claimed it caused him to have seizures… only problem was, he was born an epileptic. He’d had seizures all his life leading up to his 3 week tour of bootcamp.

He’s spent his entire life abusing women and emptying their bank accounts, and beating his kids & theirs, too. He spent some nice relaxing time in Oklahoma State Penn for it, in fact.

Truman Burette

In 2011 he filed a lame petition to get his street zoned for no curb-parking (an impossibility for any neighbor with more than 1 car). http://www.okc.gov/agendapub/cache/2/m0ccyi45jwr3qm45v4fpsd45/121642507292013090849917.PDF
