That’s the problem with Ag School guys who pretend they are Ivy League grads, is they lack the actual smarts and good grace to be polite. When you attempt to state that you graduated from a school that accepts 1 in 6 and the affiliated school you actually attended accepts 1 out of every 1 applicants it’s not hard to see why you might be easily confused.
Olbermann wants to think he’s like the graduates of the Ivy League Cornell such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Thomas Pynchon, Paul Wolfowitz, E.B. White, Sanford I. Weill, Floyd Abrams, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Ginsburg, Janet Reno, Henry Heimlich and Harold Bloom.
When instead he has more in common intellectually with David LeNeveu of the Anaheim Ducks, Mitch Carefoot of the Phoenix RoadRunners, Darren Eliot, former professional hockey player, and Joe Nieuwendyk, Stanley Cup winner. Not that these are bad or stupid people, they’re just not policy movers and shakers which is what Olbermann is constantly wet dreaming over being someday….
Because he lied about which Cornell he actually attended Olbermann is extremely sensitive about his lack of talent and a career being exposed for the lotter win it was for him. A wounded American Vet pokes fun at him and he goes off the deep end, I expect nothing less from a man of Olbermann’s character. His response exemplifies his true character, that of a charlatan who fears exposure for the talentless hack he truly is, thus he must mock anyone who might dare poke fun or offer a contrary view. Olbermann is incapable of an unscripted exchange of articulate views because he has none, his views are carefully scripted by other for him and when he’s left to use his “Ivy League” education to fend for himself he exposes his all too barren intellect.
Nicely done Mr. Olbermann, now we need you downtown quickly as I believe there are some children at Macy’s who need to be instructed on the fakery that is Santa Claus.

I found a Forbes article from October 2012 entitled, “Keith Olberman Casts A Wide Net In Job Search.” He wants to get on a news show, a sports show, but, I’m guessing, a puppet show will do. I would put money that between Salzman and Olbermann, that only one of them has ever wanked to reruns of SportsCenter.
I mean, Salzman kind of brought this on himself. He wanted to be funny and kick a little dirt in Keith’s eye. Olbermanns first response is pretty mild when it comes to insults. It only got personal when Salz calls him a child and then O’ says his childish name calling is an embarassment to the military. I for one, dont want someone getting attention that shines on the services, by being a name calling kid. We’re supposed to be the professionals here. We’re supposed to be the good example to the rest of the world, not the loud mouth who jumps on TWITTER for God’s sake to try and be a comedian by crapping on other people. Childish actions from both of them as far as I’m concerned.
I disagree Woody (BTW- I think I saw you on TV again yesterday)….and here’s why.
It’s one thing to trade barbs and such. But don’t you think it is another to say that you are “embarrassing the military” when the guy is clearly not in the military since he is missing an arm? Put another way, how long in perpetuity should JR be on notice that his tweets are reflective of the military?
Meh, when Olbermann stuck to sports, I liked him. When he started gravely addressing the camera on his MSNBC show, not so much. The guy needs to be mocked, and at any rate, if he had left out the “embarrassment to the military,” we likely wouldn’t even be typing about it.
I was fine with it until the “embarrassment to the Military” part. JR is neither uniform nor did he mention it, so why did O’ have to bring that into their little back and forth. I read through some of his tweets and Keith even calls JR an “alleged vet”.
People have also alleged that Olbermann is a journalist. At least we get DD-214s to establish our credentials.
Was his “Worst Person in the World” segment considered gratuitous abuse? Twitter at least afforded him a rejoinder. His old segment was entirely a unidirectional hit piece.
JR is from the same small town as me, Hayward, Wisconsin. I can attest that he is one hell of an American, Soldier, and man. Fuck Olberman.

UpNorth: I am happy to report that, according to the October 2012 Forbes article that I mentioned in cmt 20, Keef was dismissed from CurrenTV (whatever that is) “seven months ago.” Maybe Al Jazeera can find some use for him.
What does Keef know about embarrassment anyway? Here’s a guy that has squandered whatever credibility and integrity he may have once have had. He is the most loathesome of creatures and no longer marketable. By that I mean to say that TV would abide anyone IF viewers watched. Keef’s viewership couldn’t fill a volkwagon. I wish he would stay away from communicating with the world altogether and just sit in his room and drool.
So basically, what you are all saying is that Olbertwit is worth labeling an asshole in the subclass “asshat” or ‘assclown’?

I don’t care much about these two bickering with each other on twitter (one of THE stupidest concepts ever conceived of, by the way).
I “fondly” remember Keith when he first got his break on the Los Angeles KTLA news program back in the 80’s.
He was a total douche and arrogant SOB towards his fellow anchors, condescending and full of himself. I never liked him then, don’t like him now.

VOV, I hate the Olbermann as much as the next guy, which is a lot, but mocking his Aggie pedigree is not a valid line of attack. It’s true that Ag has a higher acceptance rates than Arts, but their courses have the same intellectual rigorous and may in fact be exactly the same as Arts students. There is no “ivy” and “non-ivy” in Cornell.
If you are a Cornell alum, I would be interested as to how you arrived at your conclusion. If you are not, please do not take Ann Coulter as gospel.
