The round Marine

| April 3, 2012

Updated; We found him.

Chris sent us this picture so we can put out an APB on the turd roller;

He looks like may have eaten a Marine once, in fact there might a couple buried in his neck fat. What’s with the phonies thinking they can get away with wearing the SEAL Trident lately? And isn’t the EOD badge an Army badge? I guess the boy thinks he can mix and match service appurtenances like Soup.

Anyway, someone must know this guy out there. We need a name and an address so we can pull his records and embarrass the shit out of him. But we’ll never be able to embarrass him as much as he’s embarrassed us.

Updated; We found him.

The EOD badge is one of the few cross branch badges, like basic jump wings. Of course, he’s not wearing them in the right place, but he seems to have more unifom below his ribbons than above.

CI

You’d think a guy with every award in the USMC inventory would at least know that the Fourragere went under the epaulet….

NHSparky

I think he ate Soup Sandwich AND his ribbon rack. I’d love to see if the fat fuck has bloused desert boots on.

Old Trooper

Easy, boys and girls, this one is a total badass. You can tell by the all business, no bullshit stare he’s got cookin. He’s one of those Recon SEAL Marines (one of the rarest species on the planet and should be on the endangered species list).

In all seriousness; I’m not even a Marine and I can see punk ass poser all over this chump. Starting with his gig line and fourragere. Then; he has a ribbon rack that would make him one of the most decorated military service persons in history (a 12 row rack is totally awesome!). I believe I see an Army ribbon, or two, in that rack, also.

Maybe a few real Marines can meet up with him and square his shit.

Anonymous

I did not know they made uniforms in XXXXXL!

CI

Is the marksmanship badge on the right on crooked, or is it just rounding the curve of his man-boob?

NHSparky

I also love how he has the Expert Rifle/Pistol “E” on a Navy “E” ribbon.

Uh, yeah, not so much. And let’s not get into the MOH BELOW the Navy Cross, pretty much every award given out since the 1950’s, V device on the wrong side of his NAM (and frankly, I can’t think of the last time someone got a NAM with “V”), PUC/NUC/MUC out of order, Kuwait Liberation with no SWA, the list goes on, and on, and on…

USMCSgt

He looks like the Tourette’s Guy.

The Dead Man

You know if you’re going to go all out at least go with the Master EOD. Sort of looks like the senior EOD crab though. Can you guys tell if that’s a star on the bomb or just the light? Debating on if I should bounce this post to my family heh.

Hondo

NHSparky: I think that’s the Defense Distinguished Service Medal after the NC, not the MOH.

Adirondack Patriot

Marines don’t wear green aguilettes with their service dress uniforms. Gold or scarlet, but not green.

That cord is from ROTC or Captain Video’s Space Rangers.

Steadfast&Loyal

Dear gawd.

Why isn’t he in the Stan. Juts let him wear his dress uniform and the mere sight of that valor will make the enemy beg forgiveness.

On a side note we need to find this guy ASAP if only to make sure he isn’t passed out somewhere. That collar looks like it may cut off his airway at any minute.

Anonymous

I see the Navy Cross and maybe the Airman’s Medal on the top row right behind the Fourragere knot.

Bah Bodenkurk

Is that a pineapple in the center of his rank???

Retired NCO

Nothing pisses me off more than a poser. This guy is nothing but a “PX War Hero”.

Lthrnck1775

Hilarious… this dude deployed more than Chesty! Is that a UN ribbon (center, 2nd row from bottom) for Korea Service?

Wow… just…wow. Wings and EOD and Trident… this guy can call in his own air strike, fly the Hornet, diffuse errant clusters, THEN… kill you with a spork!

OOOH RAAAAH

Lthrnck1775

@14… Exploding Bomb (Master Gunnery Sgt)

Sgt Pepper

Interesting, he has an American Defense Service Ribbon that was only issued to those on active duty between 39-41. He looks kind of young for a pre WWII Vet don’t ya think. No other WWII Campaign ribbons, I guess he was stateslide during WWII. Also, No Vietnam ribbons either. He must have went into hiding and then awarded himself the valorious awards during the Gulf War. I hope this turd is identified.

bullnav

I see he has a Navy Expeditionary Medal and it looks like the Arctic Service Ribbon, but I don’t see Silver Dolphins. Oh, well, no one wants seems to want to impersonate Submariners for some reason…

Spade

This is making the rounds apparently.

Found this on AR15.com:
http://www.pownetwork.org/phonies/phonies243.htm

Spade

Also, neat that despite being outed previously he continues to do it after “apologizing” and his rack of medals and badges continues to grow.

NR Pax

PLEASE tell me that those aren’t aviator wings at the top. Sweet, venerable monkey Moses. This man needs to be beaten until he gains wisdom.

NHSparky

Oh, well, no one wants seems to want to impersonate Submariners for some reason…

You want to be the guy who says, “There I was, no shit–out on OP, doing a lockout from the Forward Escape Trunk with a K-Bar knife I borrowed from the SEALs who were too scared to go with me…”

And then a real bubblehead would go, “Yeah, there you were, cranking, mashing trash, scrubbing shitters, you lying ass fuck.”

For the record, my first underway on my first boat was an OP. I mess-cranked for 45 days of it.

To be honest, I think a lot of the reason nobody impersonates bubbleheads is because we DON’T get a lot of publicity–and I’m totally fine with that.

ROS

Under a photo on the POWNET link, this:

“LARRY E. GUGLE (front center) wearing all the war hero crap that he does not rate. This was a wreath laying ceremony at the tomb of the unknown, Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.”

I have an urge to apply a tire iron to his face. RUFKM????

NHSparky

NR Pax–hard to tell with that sweet rope covering it, but it could be Naval Parachutist badge. Sadly, Jonn’s description of the picture means I can’t see it on a work computer. Guess the filters don’t like the word fuck.

AW1 Tim

WOW….. I spend the morning doing actual work and then come in to find I missed the excitement again. 😉

How this guy actually managed to make it through to retirement from the Marine Corps is what amazes me most.

NR Pax

The sad part is that if I’m reading POW Network correctly, he actually was a Marine and earned the rank of Gunny.

Hondo

Well, this gives a new meaning to the term “Gugle it” (see comment 20 above). (smile)

1/9 MAR Network does a great expose of this assclown here:

http://www.1stbattalion9thmarinesfirebase.net/LarryGugle.htm

And IMO they’re dead on target with the medal he truly rates (see end of the above link).

NHSparky

Pax–he made 1st Sgt. (E-8) before he got called on his shit and busted back to GySgt. Jebus.

DixieLandMan

What? No Purple Heart? What was this guy thinking? The PH must be a dead giveaway for a faker so since he has none, this guy must be for real!

trackback

[…] This aint Hell, but you can see it from here: […]

Andy Kravetz

A few questions as I am civilian here. Why do you guys always call someone “Soup Sandwich?” Is that an inside joke? And could a Marine earn an Army badge or medal or whatever it is called. (The EOD thing). And could a Marine, in theory, be a SEAL as they both part of the Department of the Navy?

Why a guy who actually did serve would lie like this is beyond me. What a shame.

Hondo

Andy Kravetz:

The origin of the term is a crude military expression something along the lines of “That’s as (fornicated)-up as a soup sandwitch.”

The specific reference in context at TAH is:

Kevin

I’m not sure if there are two conversations going on here, but the FF pictured above is NOT Larry Gugle.

tangonine

Hondo,

The sad part is, as someone also pointed out, it seems his rack (and his gut) have grown exponentially since the was outed and the rolling hair-infested turd that he is.

Jack

I thought Sgt Schultz was in the German Army?

Hondo

Kevin,

Well, it sure looks like him to me, albeit after a significant weight gain and maybe some Grecian on the mustache. But you could be right.

Redacted1775

Fat fuck vs. lesbian pirate: FIGHT!

NHSparky

And could a Marine, in theory, be a SEAL as they both part of the Department of the Navy?

Only if he was 1–in the Navy, 2–had attended BUD/S, 3–earned his Trident. However, it would be strange for someone to have been a SEAL, leave the Navy, and come back into the Marines. If there is such a case, I’m not aware of it, although people leave one service and join another all the time, as some have pointed out, there are a few people floating around out there with Navy dolphins (submariner) and CIB’s.

Old Trooper

@34: How do you know? I’m not asking in a smartass way, but genuinely want to know how you came to that conclusion.

CI Roller Dude

yep, I bet he was a door gunner on the space shuttle.

Sean

He’s also wearing the American Defence and American Campaign ribbons from WWII. the Defence ribbon would mena he had to have served PRIOR to Pearl Harbor attack.

teddy996

There are those who run towards the sound of clanging silverware. Those who run towards the mess hall, even when there’s a big line. And when they’re serving USDA grade C beef, when the bug juice machine is dry, or when the yakisoba is cold, you will find them running to stuff their faces anyway.

Which way would you run?

The few. The proud. The marines.

Michael Broughton

Nam ribbons too!

Kevin

Old Trooper- Larry Gugle is much older (64), and I’ve been following his BS for a while. He was a close combat instructor at MCRD San Diego when I went through boot camp. I remembered him because of a couple of incidents that occurred during the traning.

Kevin

s/b training (first day with my new hands)

Kevin

If you google gugle on the google machine, you can get some stuff on Larry (who apologized years ago, BTW), including pictures of him as a DI

StrikeFO

Looks pretty legit to me.

Anonymous

One thing is consistent between the fella in this image and the Larry Gugle person mentioned as of lately in this thread (and also the POW Network), the Kuwait Liberation ribbon/medal is placed absolutely last on the rack (of both) if this person is one and the same.

NHSparky

Kevin–I’ve seen his “apologies”. None sound particularly remorseful, and as the one on the 1/9 page shows, it just gets into deeper bullshit, and he even claims his records won’t show his service in DS/DS, even though he was FORCED to retire as a GySgt after his court-martial in 1990.

Sorry, but no. Gugle hasn’t apologized for jack yet.
