Just today, I went past a neighbor’s house who was getting a new roof. I had to pull over and take another look, the roofing crew didn’t contain a single illegal, there were 2 adults and 4 or 5 looked like recent high school grads working on the roof. Glad to see it.
And suddenly, Walmart doesn’t have 40 or 50 Mexican-looking browsers roaming the aisles.

A house in my neighborhood has had shingles sitting in their driveway for 2 weeks or so. I bet the homeowners are just thrilled to see them on pallets in the driveway and not on the roof. Maybe their roofing contractor has found they have a labor shortage. It could also be that it’s a million degrees outside presently (according to my 5 yo grandson).
