Virginia State Police boss says troopers won’t go door-to-door collecting guns: ‘Very un-American’
Hundreds rallied at the Virginia Capitol Saturday against a bill that would ban assault weapons sales, now awaiting Gov. Spanberger’s signature.

RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia State Police Superintendent Col. Jeffrey Katz wants Virginia gun owners to know police are not and will not come for their guns.

Col. Katz addressed what he called “recent online sentiment” which indicated Virginia passed laws to prompt police to go door-to-door to collect firearms from Virginians.

“I want to speak to this clearly and plainly. There is no legislative proposal seeking to do this, and there will not be,” Katz said in a statement published to the Virginia State Police Facebook page. “VSP works each day to enhance safety and protect civil liberties. Those liberties were not granted by government and will not be impeded by government. Not now, not ever. Activity of this nature is, by its very nature un-American.”

The entire bill is by it’s very nature is un-American Col. Obvious. What will he do when the esteemed legislature makes him a liar?

If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 50 years ago, a liberal 25 years ago, and a racist today.

It would seem that the citizens of VA need to start burning up the e-mail lines to their reps and make it clear how they dislike antigun legislation. They also need to wake the hell up and pay attention to the morons running for office.

Northern New England is blockaded on the south by Mass. and on the west by NY. That was bad enough but now if one wishes to travel to Florida you will have to deal with Virginia. I have stayed many times in Virginia on my travels to our home in Florida as well as on our return. This last trip south we stopped in West Virginia at a very nice Hampton Inn. We went to Nashville for a couple nights and had a lot of fun there including our first time at the Opry. Then on to the sunshine state.Virginia is looking more and more like Commie for Mia.
