Classified Secrets Sent in Pursuit of Romance

In a case that blends personal folly with serious national security implications, 62-year-old Kevin Charles Luke—a 37-year combat veteran, retired Army colonel, and post-retirement civilian contractor at U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)—was sentenced on February 10, 2026, to two years in federal prison.

The crime? In October 2024, while still holding a top secret security clearance and working at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, Luke photographed a classified email he had authored on a secure government system and texted the image to a woman he had recently met online and begun dating.

His accompanying message: “Sent to my boss earlier. Gives you a peek at what I do for living.”

What he showed her was no ordinary email. Marked SECRET//REL TO USA, FVEY (restricted to the Five Eyes alliance: U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand), it outlined sensitive details of a then-upcoming U.S. military operation: Operation Poseidon Archer—a series of airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen in response to their attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

The shared information reportedly included:

  • The planned date of the operation
  • The number of targets
  • Aspects of the battle plans and objectives

The strikes occurred just days after he sent the photo (on October 1, 2024).

How the Breach Came to Light

The relationship eventually ended. Afterward, the woman—a civilian not affiliated with the military—disclosed the incident to authorities. Federal agents executed a search warrant at Luke’s home roughly two months later, discovering additional classified materials he was not authorized to possess at home: four classified emails and a spiral notebook marked “secret.”

In September 2025, Luke signed a plea agreement. He pleaded guilty in November 2025 to one count of unauthorized communication of information relating to the national defense (under 18 U.S.C. § 793(d)). There was no allegation of espionage, foreign government involvement, financial motive, or intent to harm the United States—making this a case of unauthorized disclosure rather than treason or selling secrets.

Sentencing: Balancing Service and Seriousness

On February 10, 2026, in Tampa federal court, U.S. District Judge James Moody sentenced Luke to:

  • 2 years imprisonment
  • 1 year of probationary supervision following release
  • A mental health evaluation

This was below the federal sentencing guideline range of 3–4 years.

During the hearing: Luke addressed the court: “I stand before you accepting full responsibility for my actions. What I did was wrong. I violated the trust placed in me and, sir, I am ashamed of that.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lindsey Schmidt emphasized: “The United States placed exceptional trust in Luke for a very long time. Luke betrayed that trust.” She argued the disclosure put national secrets at risk and could have endangered lives.

Defense attorney Mark O’Brien framed it as: “a tale as old as time. A man trying to impress a woman.” He drew comparisons to the lighter punishment (probation) given to Gen. David Petraeus in 2015 for sharing classified notebooks with his biographer/lover.

Character witnesses—including retired colleagues—described Luke as a man of “unquestionable loyalty,” a “pillar of strength,” and someone they would trust with their lives. One noted the decorated veteran (injured by a bomb in Iraq, later diagnosed with TBI and PTSD) was “shredded inside” by his mistake.

Judge Moody acknowledged the difficulty:

“This is a difficult sentencing,” balancing Luke’s long, honorable service against the gravity of compromising classified operational details.

Frenchman hospitalized after inserting WWI munition up his rear

The anonymous Englishman who managed to lodge a 2-inch-wide World War II anti-tank shell inside his rectum back in 2021 has been unseated.

The phrase “shell shocked” took on new meaning over the weekend when a 24-year-old Frenchman hobbled into Rangueil Hospital in Toulouse, France, complaining of unspecified pain.

Rushed into surgery, the doctors soon discovered that the source of the “unspecified pain” turned out to be an 8-inch long 37mm brass-and copper shell used by the Imperial German Army in the late stages of the Great War.

According to the French newspaper La Dépêche, the medical staff in Toulouse are “accustomed to treating victims injured during sexual games,” but are understandably unused to dislodging centuries-old munitions from rectums.

“He was in a state of extreme discomfort, having inserted a large object up his rectum,” said an investigating source, stating the obvious.

The artillery shell, unexploded at the time of the removal, resulted in the evacuation of the hospital, with an explosive ordnance disposal squad called to the hospital to ensure the munition was not in danger of detonating within the individual’s personal hurt locker.

France is currently edging the British in its centuries-old rivalry, as this is not the first time a Frenchman has married munition with derrière.

In 2022, an 88-year-old patient visited Hospital Sainte Musse in Toulon stunning doctors when they removed what turned out to be a WWI-era French munition measuring 8 inches long and more than 2 inches wide — from the man’s rectum. Surgeons were forced to cut open his abdomen in order to remove the hefty relic due to the shell’s considerably above-average size.

“An apple, a mango, or even a can of shaving foam, we are used to finding unusual objects inserted where they shouldn’t be,” one doctor reported. “But a shell? Never!”

While the echoes of the Great War are now more than a century old, the vestiges of the deadly conflict remain.

Along the Western Front, namely France and Belgium, the remnants of the First World War are still coming to the surface.

About 1.5 billion shells were fired during the war, and unexploded ammunition continues to plague Western Europe, particularly France.

An annual collection of the ordnances called “récolte de fer,” or “iron harvest” work to rid the land — and now rectums — of the explosives.

On Saturday, firefighters confirmed that they had defused the bomb and that there was no further risk to the patient or those in proximity to the hospital.

While the patient is expected to make a full physical recovery, the mental scars of his very own trench warfare is another story.

Still recuperating, the French national is set to be interviewed by police this week and prosecutors are considering legal action against the 24-year-old for handling “category A munitions,” according to an officer.

County sheriff arrested on several charges, accused of tampering with government records

A county sheriff in Texas has been arrested on several charges, including being accused of tampering with government records.

Hamilton County Sheriff Jason Bradley Boulton was taken into custody this week and booked into the Coryell County Jail.

According to arrest records, Boulton is facing charges of tampering with government records, abuse of official capacity, failure to report a felony and giving a false statement to law enforcement.

Authorities said Boulton knowingly made a false entry in a government record regarding the monthly community service time sheet, over the hours worked.

An arrest affidavit states Boulton also violated the Texas code of criminal procedures “by possessing a dangerous drug, promoting or facilitating the delivery of a dangerous drug or tampering with a government record,” in May 2025.

Additionally, Boulton is accused of failing to immediately report a felony in July of last year, along with giving a false statement to a peace officer conducting a criminal investigation.

The Hamilton County sheriff had his bail set at $110,000.

Texas authorities said the investigation into Boulton is ongoing.

Ruining your life for a piece of ass.

Stupid frog sticking explosives up his ass.

Sheriff was acting as a dumbass.

A. it seems the damsel wasn’t all that impressed by the ret Col. since she “broke it off” in more than one way

B. If the shell in the bum had gone active, one could say it would have been a world record case of gas from the past.

C. A bit of curiosity in the Sheriff story. The Sheriff is an elected position and as such should be a “salaried” situation, no time sheets needed as there is no option for OT. Was it a Deputy and not the Sheriff or the number 2 in the organization? Or was he getting a Deputy to claim OT and taking a cut? It doesn’t quite add up.
