Arizona AG suggests that ICE agents could get shot under the state’s self-defense laws
Kris Mayes, Arizona’s attorney general, sat down with 12 News anchor Brahm Resnik for an interview. During a part of the interview, Mayes mentioned how masked agents risk getting shot by Arizona gun owners who may not be able to discern if the agents were legitimate or were up to no good. Resnik argued that this remark could be erroneously interpreted by some residents to go ahead and shoot federal agents. Mayes insisted that she was just stating the facts.
From New York Post:
The Democrat, in a sit-down with 12 News anchor Brahm Resnik, warned that Arizona’s “Stand Your Ground” law, which allows citizens to use deadly force if they believe they’re in imminent danger, could become a “recipe for disaster” if protesters clash with immigration officers.
“It’s kind of a recipe for disaster because you have these masked federal officers with very little identification, sometimes no identification, wearing plain clothes and masks,” Mayes said in the Monday interview, calling ICE “very poorly trained.”
“And we have a Stand Your Ground law that says that if you reasonably believe that your life is in danger and you’re in your house or your car or on your property, that you can defend yourself with lethal force.”
A flabbergasted Resnik repeatedly challenged Mayes, cautioning that her remarks could be interpreted as a “license” to residents to shoot a federal agent.
She retorted that she was merely stating a “fact,” not encouraging violence.
“If you’re being attacked by someone who is not identified as a peace officer — how do you know?” the state’s top prosecutor pressed, adding that “real cops don’t wear masks.”
“I mean if somebody comes at me wearing a mask, by the way, I’m a gun owner, and I can’t tell whether they’re a police officer, what am I supposed to do? No, I’m not suggesting people pull out their guns, but this is a ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ state.”
The attorney general, who was elected in 2022, unleashed her jaw-dropping comments as immigration officers begin to spread into parts of the Grand Canyon State.

The talk shows here took Mayes one step further. There you are driving your car and a bunch of leftist protesters begin hitting and shaking your car, Mayes just gave us permission to get rid of a bunch of leftists at one time. Stupid skrunt.
And then you would be on the receiving end of a case of 9mm lead poisoning.
-6 degrees at the homestead, full tank of propane, full pantry, 22kw Generac whole house generator, I think I am ready for the polar express!
A tad bit warmer in the East Texas Pineywoods, the Greater AO of the GB Compound. Only forecast to get into the upper teens through the weekend.
Just had our propane tank refilled, but a whole house generator would eat that up in less than 24 hours. Have a little portable generator, plenty of wool blankets, enough water in storage, and a old coffee pot if the power goes out.
For that matter the old Scouting storage shed still has stuff from our days of taking other people’s children on our vacations. Not concerned.
Yup, waiting for the snow here in Rock Ridge.
..Stay safe and warm Anonymous…
17 before the sun came up, currently 7 with partly cloudy skies.
79 Deg. at 12:30 outside my enclosed porch and 76 Deg inside the porch where I have my PC. I hung up my LL Bean Wool made in the USA shirt jac yesterday. Should have brought my second one down here when I retired in 2007. Now sweating out when the freezing cold spell is going to hit us this coming Mon. or Tues. Dungarees hanging up for that and have a pair of shorts on now. Glad that I don’t live up in the Florida panhandle
I went through my winter emergency checklist and everything on it was already done. I then debated breaking the ATV out of storage and decided if the weather actually does show up, there isn’t anywhere I actually want to go anyway.
The WX bureau isn’t giving every one a snow job on this one
I am anticipating a lot of rain and maybe some ice on Saturday. If I am disappointed and “Icemageddon”, then maybe I won’t have to go to work on Monday, which would mean I would have to stay inside by the fire with a good book and uncork a bottle of Laphroaig while the old lady does her work from home gig. If I shut door to the office, shouldn’t hear a thing. In which case I may nod off from time to time.
I am thinking if I can survive that, I can survive anything.
75 today in balmy South Bluntzer, about 20 miles north of Corpus Christi Bay. Whole house propane generator is ready to go, swore off on beer for dry January. Still, I’m thinking about heading down to McAllen for the weekend in contemplation of relocating.
Sure glad I don’t live in NE Massachusetts, anymore or ever again.
“…Scouting storage shed still has stuff from our days of taking other people’s children on our vacations.”
Best description of “Scoutmaster” I’ve ever heard!
Better relook Sunday night’s low!
The AZ AG is a DA?
Also a train the trainer of law enforcement, that is how she knew that ICE agents were poorly trained.
In that regard, the only thing I’ve found about her involvement in “train-the-trainer” was the state’s partnership between her office and the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona to create such a program. Its purpose was to prevent human trafficking and address the crisis of missing and murdered indigenous people within the states 22 tribal communities.
I haven’t read anything that suggests ICE agents have been part of that initiative.
Perhaps I’m missing something…
Absolutely. Here is Chandler SWAT. Rounds outgoing and courtesy of the AAG.
Gilbert, AZ Police? Clearly these guys faking it.
In short (as we know how left/libtards are):

‘Tis the season…
Not a drop, flake or pellet of precipitation anywhere in my state and people are acting like it is end times.
Very little precipitation out our way.
The shelves are full, and life is dry.
Yep. You’d think someone had announced that another public health emergency had started. People are panic shopping and clearing shelves in my AO.
Soooooo……you’re going to tell me that you’re confused between officers of the law, with helmets and gear, clearly marked front and back, with “POLICE”, “ICE”, DHS”, and protesters, NOT equipped and marked??
Bitch, best get a red tipped cane and a seeing eye dog (if one will tolerate you).
I remember as a boy being taught to identify and know your target before you shoot. Hell, most people know to do that. Yet, there are some specious folks in Arizona that seem to anxiously fall astray of ordinary things.
“Yet, there are some specious folks in Arizona that seem to anxiously fall astray of ordinary things.”
In all fairness, it’s not just Arizona.
Another stupidass liberal dingleberry who thinks that she knows it all!
Would be great if her asshole wasn’t Dingleberry free.
I’m going to miss WOT being in my recliner doing the Navy Times Jan/Feb online crossword puzzle which I print out for me & Sis and grabbing some nooners due to heavy eyelids, so maybe someone can put me in for FIRST.. Hack is the Magic 8-Ball King so I stopped using mine…Later Alligator.
