It’s pretty simple to elude the Po-Po. All one has to do is break contact and disappear. Simple, but not easy. Not easy at all.

The “natives” were restless this week. Ah…spring…when young men’s hearts turn to thoughts of nefarious activities. Better lube up the Ol’ Whizz Wheel, Claw Daddy. A Full House…indeed…and it wasn’t in the cards for their success.

That rifle looks not too dissimilar from my Mossberg: Review: Mossberg 464 SPX | An Official Journal Of The NRA.
I like lever actions, but they never really took off as tactical/military weapons for a few reasons (difficulty to cycle the action in the prone, tubular magazines, etc.). Still, the tac’ed-out lever guns are cool at the very least, if impractical for most defense purposes compared to an AR platform.
I have found that the classic/cowboy lever gun is far less likely to alarm bystanders when a show of arms is appropriate. (For example, post hurricane walkaround the neighborhood, assisting neighbor who screamed for help, etc)
Sure, the AR gives lots more options, but if you want/need minimally squawk, the John Wayne gun may be a better selection.
And the lever gun in .44 Magnum, or full power .45 Colt, is one heck of a thumper.
I’ve heard the sound of retreat when they heard me rack my old Model 94. Funny how so many movies and TV shows have ingrained that particular sound.
