OFFICERS RESPOND TO SHOOTING AT THE 1600 BLOCK OF GRAHAM ROAD

January 4, 2025 Senior Officer Jennifer Collier
On Friday, January 3, 2025, at 6:51pm, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Graham Road in reference to a shooting.

Officers arrived and spoke with the homeowner who stated an unknown male suspect was in the homeowner’s backyard with a machete in his hand and made several threatening movements towards the homeowner. The homeowner advised he feared for his safety as well as the safety of his family, retrieved a firearm and shot at the suspect who was threatening them. It is unknown if the suspect was shot but the suspect fled from the backyard into the neighboring field.

Officers set up a perimeter around the area where the unknown suspect was last seen. K9 officers, CCPD drone operators and CCFD drone operators conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Local hospitals and emergency rooms were contacted, and the suspect was not located.

1 dead, 1 injured in self-defense shooting at condos near Lake Mary Boulevard, deputies say
Suspected shooter stayed at scene, sheriff’s office says

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – One person is dead and another was injured after a fight led to a shooting at a condominium complex in Lake Mary, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday at the Notting Hill Condominiums, just south of Lake Mary Boulevard, west of Interstate 4.

According to the sheriff’s office, when deputies arrived on the scene, they found a man with life-threatening gunshot wounds and a woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand. Both were taken to the hospital where the man was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s office said the suspected shooter remained at the scene after the incident and told officials he had been involved in an argument with the man. When the suspected shooter tried to leave, he was followed by the man to his vehicle where he was attacked.

In fear for his safety, the suspected shooter retrieved a firearm and opened fire, striking the man and woman who tried to break up the fight inside the suspected shooter’s vehicle, the sheriff’s office says.

Florida? 2am? Argument leading to a shooting?
Let’s see……
Either the bars had just closed, or it was a drug deal gone sour. Either way, intoxicants were involved.

That Uberti conversion looks like a pretty piece of artillery. And the ammo is cheap, too. All it needs are wheels and a carriage, and Gun Bunny will place it at the North Wall.

Naw, Tox. I put the wheels and carriage on the (GO) Army .44 caliber version of Mr. Colt’s design…because…after all…a true caliber starts with a “4”. No conversion pieces laying around Fire Base Magnolia, but until that tragic boat accident there was a true cap and ball .36 Colt’s design (BEAT) Navy (the Naval Scene engraved is from the Texas Navy IYKYK), and a coupla of Sam Griswold’s Copies (in .36 one round and one octagon barrel). For true Earth Shattering KA-BOOOMS relied on the .45 Uberti Peacemaker. The .36es are accurate as all hell and fun to shoot, albeit slow to reload (pro tip is spare cylinders) and more messy on the cleaning. Damn a leaky boat!

Some good examples of FAFO today, we still have some queued up Po-Po took out the trash FGS with that same theme. I gots some escort duty today that will entail a nice drive thru the countryside on that long and winding road. Y’all try to behave yourself while I’m gone. Show me the deplorable and I’ll show you the misbehaver.

Have a copy Walker Colt here KoB. Talk about hand artillery!
Purposely made so when it ran dry it could be used as a club. Also has a pin to keep the cylinder under the hammer in a position where it cannot have a ND.
My copy has some other issues, tho’, so I don’t use it often.

KoB, i’m surprised you didn’t reference your T2 notebook whatever acronym that I still haven’t ever figured out what it means

T2NB2AGF Things 2 Not Bring 2 A Gun Fight

In today’s case it was a machete…which already has it’s own page in the Coffee Table Book of T2NB2AGF

I have one (unfortunately in the wrong caliber for a re-enactment) but it has gone “boom” when I want it to.
As a carry piece, it has the limitation that for safety you leave an empty chamber under the hammer, so you’re down to 5 rounds.
Have to use Kentucky Windage tho’ – authentic to the originals the sights are reference points if you know where it hits. Not winning any target matches with it.

I find that both an 1860 Army and 1858 Remington will easily hold minute-of-asshole groups out to 50 yards using round ball. After that a conversion cylinder holding .45 Colt loads with 37 grains of FFFG and 230-250gr bullets are both accurate and produce noteworthy clouds of concealment.

It is not a conversion. That is a percussion 1851 Navy. Except Uberti is only the second best reproduction maker. I have two of the second generation Colts; they are the best, but made with Italian parts, as Colt sold all the gauges to the Gardone, Italy makers in the 1960’s. I also have pair of 1860 Army Colt repos along with the attachable buttstock. You cannot beat Colt fit and finish, plus they are the only maker that puts a real bone charcoal case hardened finish on the frames. The Wops use a chemical treatment. Real bone charcoal requires the use of cyanide, which is rather hazardous.

I should clarify that the gun in the pic above is a percussion pistol, as you can see the nipples. But the guns.com article is about a .38 Special conversion to fire metallic cartridges.
