Presidential Eff Yous

| December 4, 2024 | 28 Comments

It should be no surprise to all that Biden pardoned his son Hunter . Face it, everyone KNEW Hunter would never face any jail time. I think the only shocker is the expanse of the pardon – with it Joe flipped a giant Eff You to the entire country, our system, and both political parties.

On Sunday night, President Joe Biden announced a “full and unconditional pardon” on all “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in” over an 11-year period after repeatedly vowing he wouldn’t.

Hunter turns out to have strangled a little girl? Had an affair with Jill?  Sold fentanyl at grade schools by the ton? Wouldn’t matter. “Committed or may have committed” – he just got the country’s biggest Get Out Of Jail Free card since Ford pardoned Nixon.

“I have never seen language like this in a pardon document that purports to pardon offenses that have not apparently even been charged, with the exception of the Nixon pardon,” Margaret Love, U.S. pardon attorney from 1990 to 1997, told Politico.

“Even the broadest Trump pardons were specific as to what was being pardoned,” she added.MSN

And even back-in-office President Trump cannot overrule it.

I can only think of one satisfactory alternative… let the Clintons know how much confidential info Hunter has on their Haiti work and Epstein’s files.

Then, just because we can, lest anyone think Trump is doing no less, we have this little tidbit:

A bipartisan bill to boost transparency and make sure incoming presidents stick to an ethics plan was so uncontroversial that it passed the Senate by a voice vote in 2020. Donald Trump then signed it into law.

Sounds innocuous. President should have to normally live by reasonable rules (unless he has to do something Presidential for the country we really don’t need to know about, in which case the rule is “never get caught”.) But in general, agreeing to act somewhat civilized would be nice, right? Even Trump signed off on the bill, as noted above. But:

But now, after blowing past deadlines to adhere to the law after winning the White House a second time, Trump appears to have excluded himself from those same ethical guidelines.

Trump missed two months of deadlines before finally signing off on an agreement with President Joe Biden’s administration to begin the presidential transition process this week.

But the agreement does not appear to include the president-elect’s pledge to avoid conflicts of interest while in office, despite requirements under a renewed Presidential Transition Act he signed into law four years earlier.

Sign the law, ignore the law – wait, what?

Trump’s team is turning down federal funding and office space for his transition team — as well as official government checks and security checks for his staff. The president-elect has rebuffed agreements with the Department of Justice to process security clearances to access classified information during the transition.

The team “will operate as a self-sufficient organization,” and its “organizational autonomy means a streamlined process,” Trump’s campaign said in a statement.

Who thinks by wealthy donors financing the transition it will be cleaner and less corrupt than if the government funds it. Private donors? Isn’t that lumped under “Pay to Play”?

Without thorough reviews of the incoming administration’s financial withholdings and interests by the Office of Government Ethics, those nominees could be in a position to benefit from their proximity to power, according to Campaign Legal Center counsel Kedric Payne, a former deputy chief counsel with the Office of Congressional Ethics.

“Without this crucial review — which is mandated by law — nominees may enter office with conflicts of interest (obvious or hidden) that they are not ordered to remedy,” Payne said in a statement.

“If we do not bother to hold some of the most politically powerful members of our government to ethical guidelines before they even enter office, there is little hope that these leaders will bother with ethics guidelines throughout their public service,” he added.  The Independent

Amen to that last.  Maybe add the death penalty to ethics violations?

But, of course! Major, too.

DJT should just pardon himself for everything the Diddycrats have thrown or WILL throw at him.
In your best Trump voice impersonation: “I give myself immunity. Blanket immunity. The best kind of immunity. There’s never been anyone with this type of immunity.”

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

LOL!

Nobody’s ever seen anything like it.

Maybe add the death penalty to ethics violations?” There ain’t enough scaffolds. Hell they all benefit from their proximity to power. And they are all equally worthless to me.

Not a single one of us was surprised when sniffy creepy “pardoned” his baby boy. All that joe did was prove that his baby boy was guilty of all kinds of nefarious activities. May they both rot in hell.

Fyrfighter

Not enough scaffold, but might be enough street lamps..

Count me naive if you must, but I have been surprised, maybe dismayed is more appropriate, at Joe’s pardon of Hunter. Both in it’s fact and even more so in it’s breath. My naivete said this blatant, self-serving act would be a step too far, even for the corrupt Joe and the Dems. The take it is a big middle finger to the Dem Party, and proof positive Joe never cared a whit for the country, and I can believe it. Still, surprising that any politician, lame duck and end of his career or not, would go this far has killed that little bit of my heart that held out hope our sitting President couldn’t be a complete corrupto-crat.

Now, take the two stories above together, the depth of the disdain elected and the appointed and unelected have been suspected of having for truth, fairness, what is best for the country, etc., etc., it makes absolute sense Trump’s transition team is NOT cooperating with the deep state. Trump et al should trust the very institutions he was elected to gut to vet and verify his picks? His picks for those who will gut and dismantle, and hopefully eventually prosecute those appointed and unelected corrupt bureaucrats are to be given authority over investigating those picks to determine their fitness?

Case in point is what is happening to Pete Hegseth. A private email, from his mother, from more than seven years ago, while in the midst of a nasty divorce, is selectively edited and leaked to tank his nomination. The list of those who had access, if it was part of the official data mining, is very short. Each of those individuals need to be investigated and the guilty party needs to be obliterated, for cause and as a warning.

If this wasn’t part of an official data mining, who, at what agency, had the ability to do this? Whomever it is, needs to be prosecuted, and if it is an agency, be the first to be defunded.

Jus’ sayin’, Mi’Lady…

Obama thinks that Satan is his friend, his prophet, the way, the truth and the lite.

Just wait until Obama finds out that lite and life are not the same thing.

Look forward to 2025,
and Hunter testifying before Congress,
about that same decade,
about everyone ELSE in the Biden circle and family,

5th Amendment, anyone?
Yes, but not for Hunter, especially for any 2025 perjury.

He could use the Clinton reply, “I don’t remember”….who’s to say what anyone remembers clearly?

When asked how that’s possible he can say he did a lot of drugs and it ruined his memory about a great many things he did…

I don’t see any big revelations coming in my lifetime…

Hookers, blow, and a recording device or two.

I don’t believe for a second that he’s cleaned up his act.

Is that you, Marion Barry?

DOKTOR Jill still gets wet thinking about how things used to be. Now, all she has left is Hunter. Maybe the dog, too… I don’t want to know.

It is not a “loophole.” The Fifth Amendment is not available to people who cannot be prosecuted for the relevant crimes. The same is true for crimes for which one has been convicted or acquitted; this is because of the Double Jeopardy Rule.

“Trump missed two months of deadlines before finally signing off on an agreement with President Joe Biden’s administration to begin the presidential transition process this week.”

I need help with this. Today is 04 DEC, election day was 05 NOV. How is it possible for Trump to miss two months of deadlines… break out the crayons, draw me the picture. Were the deadlines PRIOR to election day?

KoB

Maff is hard. I well know. I have to get nekkid to count to 21. And when it’s cold I can only count to 20 and a fraction.

Meanwhile, the VA is getting their freak on at their hospital in Tennessee. This wil probably merit its own thread.

Pictures or it didn’t happen

Prior Service (RET)

If I was in charge, I would investigate everyone and everything. I would publish the results of those investigations and wreck the professional reputations of everyone involved. I would enact legislation to fix the problems. Then I would dare both sides to run any of those shady MFs in any future elections. I would be bipartisan but suspect primarily one side would come out looking like the turds they are.

SFC D

Both sides have their fair share of turds, but the R’s seem to be better at flushing theirs. The D’s re-elect theirs. Repeatedly.

Slow Joe

So, now that the Dems are about to lose power, ethics are all important again, and the power of the Presidency has to be limited.
How about NO!

I just wonder what we’ll see next as the Biden Crime Family and company leave the White House?

AZtoVA

What isn’t widespread in the news yet, is that the African counties that Biden pledged $1B of our money to (while shafting Americans in NC) are also the business interests of Hunter and his “associates”. Freshly pardoned, and the grift is back on.

AZtoVA

John Nevergole, co-founder and CEO of the Philadelphia-based project development firm ABD Group, was tapped earlier this year to serve another term on the PAC-DBIA after he had previously strategized with Hunter on brokering multiple business deals in Western Africa while his father was vice president.

Fyrfighter

Thing is he’s not pardoned for any future crimes, and as such, should be watched closely, since that’s the only option the biden crime family has moving forward. You know he’ll be up to shit ASAP, and when charged will roll on his dad like a puppy wanting belly rubs..
