Identity released of man shot, killed after chase in Littleton
Information sought from public

Investigators have released the name of a man shot and killed Monday night in Littleton.

Officials with the attorney general’s office said Eric Rexford, 38, of Littleton, died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to an autopsy.

The name of the person accused of shooting Rexford has not been released, but investigators said the two knew each other.

The shooting happened after police said a driver called 911 claiming he was being intentionally struck by another vehicle in Littleton.

Officials said a man called 911 around 11:10 p.m. Monday to indicate he was being followed and intentionally hit by another vehicle, and he was attempting to drive away from the “attacking car.”

A few minutes into the 911 call, gunshots could be heard, according to investigators.

Police later found the cars stopped after an apparent crash near 33 Pleasant St. in Littleton. Officers came upon the 911 caller, who was waiting for police, and Rexford, who appeared to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

Investigators said the 911 caller identified the injured man as the one who was “chasing and striking his car.”

Rexford was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

According to the attorney general’s office, both the 911 caller and Rexford knew each other, and there is no known threat to the public. No one has been taken into custody, and officials said one of the things they’re looking into is whether this was a case of self-defense.

Brooklyn train shooting: Officer, bystanders, suspect shot by NYPD in effort to subdue fare evader
Suspect, bystander critically injured in police shooting

NEW YORK — A confrontation with a man skipping subway fare ended with a police officer, the suspect and two innocent bystanders shot in New York City.

It happened shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday. Two officers were on duty at an L Train platform in Brooklyn.

It started at the entrance, when, police say, the two officers assigned to transit detail followed a 37-year-old man up the stairs who hadn’t paid his fare.

“The officers are asking him to stop. The male is refusing to stop at a certain point on the platform. The male, he mutters the words, ‘I’m going to kill you if you don’t stop following me,'” NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey said.

That verbal threat would become a physical one as the suspect pulled a knife from his pocket.

“They give numerous commands. The male basically challenges the officers, ‘No, you’re going to have to shoot me,'” Maddrey said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The bullets that flew inside the car and onto the platform struck the suspect and two passengers – a 26-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man – as well as a 40-year-old officer.
Apparently there was no one else left to shoot on the platform. Thanks, Gun Bunny.
We have to root out the weeds of hate and ensure it doesn’t choke away the healthy flowers of diversity in our borough, city, and state.
A road rage, a car crash, a shooting, and a WRT, leading to a DOT…….all on Pleasant Street.
Ironic.
That is the home of my nearest Walmart (15-minute drive) in tax free N.H. It has grown a lot since the box stores arrived, also the interstate cuts thru it so dealers and runners love it,
Once again, NYC’s finest Boys in Blue, show off their shooting skillz. Nice shooting, Fearless Fosdick (look him up).
I’ll not comment on “knife to a gun fight”, we see too much of it any more.
The fare skipper dood must have been on intoxicants or off his meds, but he got his wish. I hope it hurts…..a lot.
Is the city on that tight of a budget, that low on funds, that they’re going to risk multiple injuries lawsuits and payouts……all over one subway fare skipper?
I’d say something about using a taser, but those things are notoriously not reliable for stopping anyone.
The NYPD doods are notoriously not reliable for stopping anyone either, Tox. Detective Danny Reagan…weeps.
Road ragers (and idiot drivers) are among the many reasons that The Gun Bunny volunteers for so much escort duty. Debating mounting an electric motor driven mini-gun on the top of my Prime Mover.
OK Hizz Dishonor Adams…the hate is coming from the citizens fed up with your multitudes of “diversity” invaders that are destroying your city.
Haven’t made up my mind on all of these SBR/Oversize Pistols yet. Guess I’m waiting for the gangsta in me to show up.
Speaking of escort duty, I gots to go. TAH kept giving me a “Time out error” FIRST (ht2 HS) thing this morning. See y’all in the PM.
We had a bit of an FGS take place a few days ago… RIP, “Turtle Man”. 🐢
I was heading into work and saw that a nearby street was closed, with a command center and probably 20 cop cars from at least four different agencies.
When I got to work, a couple of coworkers were trying to find out if the young man who was killed was the infamous “Turtle Man” who loved harassing our gun counter guys. He got the name from the first time he stopped in, when he told some of our guys that he could speak to turtles and that our 150-pound alligator snapping turtle wasn’t happy, so he wanted to take the turtle home. After that he became known for simply wasting employees’ time by asking completely off-the-wall questions. I don’t know what happened, but he was wheelchair bound and missing a leg at the ripe old age of 30. Personally, I never interacted with him. I don’t have the most patience with people, and once I heard about him, I avoided everyone in a wheelchair. He was escorted out a few times, but never trespassed and was considered mostly just a weird but harmless guy.
Sure enough, it was him. He bought some 5.56mm ammo from us the night prior (we had no reason to believe he was a felon or otherwise prohibited from owning ammunition), and I guess he just decided it was time. Around 0300 he started shooting from the second floor of a motel, police arrived, and he ignored all commands, finally forcing the cops’ hand. Fortunately, no one else was injured. He got his wish (I guess).
I did tell my coworkers that there’s a gilded wheelchair with flowers on it where he anointed the asphalt with his blood. The turtles congregate there, I hear, awaiting the day they will see their friend again. As for our snapping turtle, I’m sure he’s saddened by the loss of the one person who’d listen.
