Here Sir! ‘scuse my non-FIRSTNESS, but congrats to the Combat Historian on his FIRSTNESS for the Labor Day Open Thread. May you bask in the lording over. Let it be written, let it be known that this is more proof that the servers ARE NOT in my closet, and the King of Battle/King of WOT FIRST does NOT have inside info on the dropping times of the Open Threads.
As pointed out below, if you need a hobby, buy a house…or several. Ms Lady Friend wanted to buzz down to COP CRC and play on the tractor. Made up a pic nic basket of smoked ham and cheese sammiches and used the baby binoculars to watch the great white Floruduh deer hunters check their stands for the soon to be here opening day of bow season. Funny as all hell, Bambi and Company know that I just watch them, so the deer leave the 3500 acre tract that surrounds the COP and bed down on the little 15 acre tract. During the hunting season, I’ve sat there and watched while the deer wait till them boys leave their stand, putter, putter, putter in their 4 wheelers back to their oversize truck and then leave the AO. Only then, will the deer stand up, stretch, and then amble at the mosey back into the deep woods where the creek is. Good Times!
As I had whimpered about on the Friday Weekend Open Thread (the only OT that is recorded in the Coveted Book of FIRST) I should have been with the chill’ren in Floruduh, snacking down, playing in the pool and lusting behind those dark shades at all of the soccer moms that come for the pool party. Had a pity party on evening last when I sent Baby Girl an e-mail bemoaning the fact that it has been 3 years now since I was there on Labor Day. Enjoy life while you can guys, the whole thing can change in the blink of an eye.

It’s come to my attention that the official vehicle of Trump Supporters is the pick-up truck. Silverados, Ram Power Wagons, Tundras, and most notably the F-250 Super Duty.

Spent four hours out last night looking at the heavens with my 9.25 inch SCT. Watched Io transit Jupiter… Saturn with some of her moons (Titan, Dione, Enceladus, Rhea and Tethys)… Mars (got to see the Syrtis Major region) and our Moon rising.
There’s just something awe inspiring about looking up in the sky on a clean last summer evening… still get excited about it as I did the first time I looked through a telescope in the early 70’s

Nice looking 9.25 Celestron models. One of the FD Volly’s back in around 1978-79 had one which was a meade I believe at the time. Very Very reasonable price. My Zeiss 20×60 image stabilized Binoculars which I bought from Cabellas back in 2003 went for $4,500.00 bucks and I recently checked out what they go for and it’s like around $9,000.00 bucks. I’m comparing the two to apples and oranges two different types of instruments. My Sister was into star gazing before moving from Queens down here to Florida. Maybe I’l treat her to what you have.
IF you’re going to go with the 9.25, it’s pretty hefty (22 lbs) and 20 inches long. I have a C8 that is smaller and lighter, and is just as good. The one at the link as about $1,200.00 and is a popular one for beginners.

Working on second cup of coffee for the day. Was awakened in the middle of the night by something. Don’t know what. After finding no good reason to be awake and alert, fell asleep and woke up 2 hours later than usual.
Weird day so far with no indication that it will change. Critters all fed and watered. A load of laundry in process. Need to visit the neighbors to see if they are cooking today. If not, there are plenty of possibilities in cans, jars, and freezer bags to feed anyone who drops by.
No parades or riots expected ’round here.

In my AoR, the Burn Loot Murder group has been occupying the center of town, there has been some police involvement due to verbal altercations over their technique of walking back and forth in the crosswalk or timing it so they always have a moron stopping traffic.

After the war she transferred to what was called “Robins Field” (RAFB WR GA) as Civil Service and became one of the very FIRST Women to be trained on the new fangled “computer machines”, as a programer, not a key punch operator. She retired after right at 50 years supporting the War Fighter.

Blackeye’s coming in daily, okra tapering off, jalapenos making well.
