Rob Pearson; phony wounded veteran

| May 25, 2018

Our partners at Military Phonies share their work on this fellow, Rob Pearson, who claims that he was wounded in combat while he was a Marine for 25 years. He wears a Purple Heart, a Combat Action Ribbon, a Bronze Star Medal and the rank of Master Sergeant;

According to his records, he has never heard a shot fired in anger, he never deployed, and he left the Marine Corps as a Sergeant (E-5);

Most of Robert Pearson’s claims are not supported by his official military records. He was a Marine that served for over 10 years… but his records do not show that he served for 25 years. The service stripes that he wears on his sleeves to not match what is in his records.

He got out as an E-5 vs. an E-8. No CAR, no Purple Heart, and no Bronze Star medal. Ironically, we could not find support for having three stars on his Good Conduct Medal.

Pearson has a career in the Marine Corps that anyone would be proud of. It appears that he took liberties with the truth as many of these claims are unsupported. If he has supporting documentation as to many of these claims, we would be glad to help set the record straight but it’s not looking too good.

I have daydreams, too, but most of them revolve around food and drink and good times with friends. Hunting for the perfect brew is a goal to be proud of.

Steve

I have daydreams too…..then often need to go take a cold shower.

Keepin' It Real

I’m a 25 year career Master Sergeant of Marines with a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon and four tours in the Middle East. If you eat this powder and take these supplements you will get HUGE muscles. That is all. – Rob “Sarge” Peason

He is what Marlon Wayans would refer to as ‘Schwarzenegro’

Hondo

His records show in excess of 13 years of service. They also show a break in service due to a stint on the TDRL, followed by a return to active duty.

Since he didn’t have 15 years of service (and I think his final retirement occurred before the Clintoon-era TERA began), I’m guessing he got medically retired a second time. Barring a faked injury/medical condition, no shame in that.

There is, however, shame in being a LSoS. But we see that all too often FrOm PeOpLe WhO HaD OtHeRwIsE hOnOrAbLe SeRvIcE.

We were thinking that the NPRC FOIA Summary Sheet had a typo of “1986” vs. “1989” because there is no service showing in records of assignments nor in DoD Manpower / SCRA from 1987 to late 1989.

If it was a mistake, this would reduce his total active duty time by three years.

Hondo

Depends. I reasonably sure – but am not 100% positive – that time on the TDRL also counts if one is later found fit to serve and afterwards returns to active duty. The TDRL is a temporary status, pending final determination of medical suitability to serve.

As I recall, one can spend a max of 5 years on the TDRL. At the 5 year point, someone on the TDRL must either be permanently medically retired or found medically qualified to return to active duty. But it doesn’t have to take the full 5 years; one can be medically evaluated and determined fit to return to active duty (or permanently retired) at any time while serving on the TDRL. The 5 year limit exists to prevent people from being “in limbo” any longer than that regarding whether they might be able to return to duty.

I’m guessing this guy was evaluated and found fit to serve at around 3 years on the TDRL, and that he decided initially not to return to active duty (I believe that’s optional for those on the TDRL). However, I’m also guessing that after a few months without a retirement check, the guy decided that returning to active duty wasn’t such a bad thing after all and re-upped. (smile)

PTBH

Hondo, I believe you are correct. This may also explain the 1986 vs. 1989 in the Summary Sheet. They probably classified that time as Active Duty and DoD Manpower / SCRA does not show it as active duty.

So, you have influenced me into thinking now that 3 years on the TDRL was counted as active duty, which would be appropriate.

Don’t think it was a lack of knowledge, David. Pretty sure Alberich referring, obliquely, to this previous article. (smile)

I knew you’d unravel the riddle. And I see all three of us were commenting in that thread. Good times.

Mason

So he was medical’d out. Clearly, if he had stayed in, this is what he would have done. 😉

AW1Ed

E-5 in 10, or 13 years? Not exactly a hard charger, but nothing to shit all over, either.

Except he did.

Hondo

Observation: with 10 or 13 years service, he should have either 2 or 3 stars for his USMC GCM. Docs above only show 1.

There may have been a few other things going on with this one besides his not being a hard charger. His first 6 years got him the 2 GCMs. I’d guess his career didn’t go as well after he returned to active duty from the TDRL.

Mason

Is that a withdrawal from a staff NCO course in his assignment record around the same time?

Mick

Shitbird claims ‘Special Operations’ (of course).

— sigh —

USMC MOS 1345 Engineer Equipment Operator is just like being a ‘Special Operator’. Everyone knows that. Surprised that he didn’t claim Force Recon and/or Scout Sniper.

And that MSgt insignia pinned to his tie in the photo posted above is pretty snazzy, too.

Forest Green

I bet he used to run the shower unit so he could peek through the tent flaps. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

HMCS(FMF) ret

That’s a skill that he uses over at Brucie’s Bath House (Entry in the Rear) as a junior assistant associate towel fluffer…

“And that MSgt insignia pinned to his tie in the photo posted above is pretty snazzy, too.”

How did I miss that, first pass?

Jay

Ugh. I retired out of 2nd Recon Bn….as the Supply Chief. I still have the hoodie. Woe unto the non-0321 wearing the black silkies though. I still wear it in the winter and usually get one or two a week, “Oh! You’re Recon?”

No…oh no no no. I was AT Recon, but I was NEVER Recon.

TLDR- don’t be a poser

WELL HELLO THERE Rob Pearson, and WELCOME to the Wonderful World of Google®™ where you will discover that THE INTERNET IS FOREVER, Rob Pearson! Seriously, Rob Pearson, you HAD an Honorable number of years in service with NOTHING to be ashamed of, BUT YOU gracefully shit and pissed all over it along with doing the same to your name and reputation, Rob Pearson! Guess what else, Rob Pearson? EVERY TIME someone mentions your name in a comment on this thread it generates a Google Hit®™ which WILL help steer ANY AND ALL Google®™ searches on you TO THIS, Rob Pearson! I tell you what Rob Pearson, MANY a poser and/or embellisher HAS discovered Google Power®™ after being exposed for Stolen Valor and YOU are joining their ranks RIGHT NOW, Rob Pearson! Doesn’t it make you feel special, Rob Pearson? Now let me see, and I HEARTILY encourage other Fine People of TAH®™ to cut and paste this for Commo Check Purposes®™ if there are any evenly remotely suspected Commo Anomalies: Rob Pearson HAS FALSELY CLAIMED to be a Purple Heart Recipient. Rob Pearson HAS FALSELY CLAIMED to be e recipient of the USMC Combat Action Ribbon. Rob Pearson HAS FALSELY CLAIMED to be a 25 Year Veteran of the USMC while Official Records SHOW THAT Rob Pearson served over 10-15 years. Cheapshot commission sales pitches by Rob Pearson, maybe? IMHO Rob Pearson has a fair share of ‘splaining to do. I personally think that Rob Pearson appears to be an angry little man on the inside who hides behind what he thinks is an appearance that makes everyone he comes across fear him in… Read more »

“IMHO Rob Pearson has a fair share of ‘splaining to do.” What’s to explain? He’s a liar. Perhaps the PTSD he would have gotten had he been in combat and had he been wounded made him do it. Yeah, that would work.

“He got out as an E-5 vs. an E-8. No CAR, no Purple Heart, and no Bronze Star medal.”

MASTER SGT?, How about MASTER BAITER.

AZtoVA

I knew this turd was a poser from the tie-tack in the first pic. Who even does that???

Patrick40

No shit, I was thinking the same thing!
Surprised he would think he could get away with this because of guys he served with would put him in check, especially when you go full retard.
I only served 4 years and if i decided to make myself a Gunny or Top, my fellow Marines would track me down and give me blanket party, stacking, and a good greasing.
BTW one of my Ole Gunnys now retired SgtMajor lives within 10 miles from me 🙂

Sparks

Tool.

OldManchu

Is he making duck lips in the first picture? DUCK LIPS from a Marine? Wtf?

ChipNASA

Rob Pearson is too fucking stupid to realize he’s busted and still his Book Of Face still has all his phony shit up for all to see.

Claimed special operations but no jump wings or scuba badge? He’s not even good at faking.

AZtoVA

Looks like he engaged with a MP poster a ways down his page, so he knows the truth is out there. Funny in comparison to one of his posts just above that exchange: “Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”

Daisy Cutter

He is claiming that “they” got the wrong Rob Pearson and is laughing it off.

The pics are on his page, how can he deny that?

Jay

He’s apparently some kung fu warrior looking at his FB pics…

JimV

People like this have too much free time on their hands.

Robert Pearson,you suck

FatCircles0311

Roflmao 2,000lb leg press claims as well.

This guy is straight up retarded.

I thought that was 2000 gram leg press, but I may be mistaken…

The “man” made him lie….!

rgr769

Just wow, another peace time bulldozer operator. And he rocketed to E-5 in only twelve or thirteen years of AD. What a accomplishment. Got hisself a CAR, PH, and a Bronze Star without ever leaving CONUS. Robert Patterson, you are one impressive Girene.

Morgan Blake

He does have an assignment to Okinawa, but it looks like he went to the hospital soon after. No sense of deployments from “The Rock.”

Jarhead

W T F? One look at the full story on Military Phonies pretty much tells a story of contradictions, too many to overcome.
If the dude was put out to pasture on a Medical Disability, how does he work for a gym?
In the same story a direct quote from him dated May 20ll goes, “As a combat veteran it’s GONE to take one day at a time to come back to a normal life. Please be PATIENCE.” GONE and PATIENCE, this freak was a leader of what….surely not the USMC spelling team.
Same story on same site…Claiming in his own words to be a “power lifter for the CORP.” No, maybe he is a leader of the USMC competence team. After his so-called 25 years, and he never knew it was the CORPS?
Meanwhile I’m GONE to be PATIENCE and take one day at a time hoping he finally learns how to spell CORP.
Gut feeling tells me there is more to this story and when some of those fooled find the T A H site, we’ll find out just how believable he wasn’t.
If the gym gig falls apart once they realize he is F O S….there’s always used cars to be sold.

5JC

Every Army unit I was ever in sent some of the guys awaiting med board to the gym to pass out basketballs until their paperwork came through.

IDC SARC

I’m wrapping a paddle for someone that deserves it. So, not even dealing with this asshole beyond saying….Rob Pearson, you are a clown.

Old 1SG, US Army (retired)

This guy is a real nut job… he’s decked out on FB like some sort of guru. Dalai Lama you ain’t, peaceful warrior!

I’m an old soldier, maybe my USMC brothers can answer this, are Marines allowed to smile while wearing dress blues? This guy has got the constipated pouty girl look down pat.

Here’s one of Pearson’s “thoughtful” comments on Facebook, quite the social justice warrior:

“I would like to say Happy Birthday to my good friend Heyward Lee Garris Jr.. Everyone always asked me, why do you call Heyward robinhood. Well one day i saw him taking some boxes from someone who had alot to, not to himself but to someone who did not have enough. Sooo i looked at him and said man you have a new name here, Robinhood, and he just gave me that funny grin and said, ok. Thats the kind of man he was. I loved that guy and i truly do miss him.” RIP my brother.(Robinhood)

Jarhead

Old 1SG…..We were never told to not smile, it was merely a somber time when those pics were taken in dress blues. It was the “serious look” of the day. Obviously some (including this fake ass Pearson) projected the “serious look” to make people think, “Man, this dude is pure bad ass”. Notice there is a big difference between the “serious look” and the imagined I’m a tough guy. Four years and I had many good times and laughs. Would not have changed it for anything.

Jarhead

One other thought on the question of the non-smile on the pics. In any branch of service (and I think you’ll agree with me)if one wanted to project an image of being in uniform with the American flag and clear blue sky behind it, only a dumb ass would hang the flag to where the top of a privacy panel fence were showing in the back ground. Then again, if you can’t spell simple words, how could you be expected to know diddly shit?

Morgan Blake

Yeah, at first it kind of prompted the image of Gen Patton… but the fence quickly popped that balloon.

Andrew Whorley

“He had a career anyone would be proud of”

He has nearly 20 years of service, missing some GCM, no deployments and rocketed all the way to E5. No wonder he made up accomplishments, he didn’t do shit.
