Jesus Albert Esquivel; still not a Navy SEAL
Back in July, we wrote about Jesus Albert Esquivel when the UK’s Daily Mail reported that he shot to death a Triple-A technician when he was too slow showing up for Jesus’ service call. The Daily Mail had reported that Esquivel was a Navy SEAL. Our sources refuted that information.
The folks at Military Phonies went ahead and got Mr Esquivel’s military records. Not surprisingly, he wasn’t a Navy SEAL. It looks like he had enlisted service for three years, then he went to Navy ROTC at Purdue University, then he did two more years as a Navy Ensign, but no SEAL Training;
Now, there’s no quote from Esquivel specifically mentioning that he claimed to be a SEAL, only the reporter’s word so it might not be his fault.
According to Local 10 News, Esquivel was in court last month and learned that his trial is scheduled for October 23rd.

Discharged as an Ensign; now that isnt something you see every day. It makes me wonder if guys like this, who obviously at least had some promise at one time, just started a downward spiral after their military failures.

The Miami Herald story (linked in the Daily Mail piece) says that Esquivel told AAA workers that he was a SEAL. Apparently the Daily Mail did no independent reporting on this claim.
The effing lying MSM will tell any lie if it perpetuates their propaganda narrative that those with combat skilz from their military service are psycho killers who make snap and become murderers at any moment. They repeatedly do this instinctively, without bothering to check these posers’ stories.
The attribution for the SEAL claim is complicated. Apparently the source is the victim’s brother, who wasn’t identified, but told details of the shooting to the victim’s uncle, Roberto Flavio. According to Flavio, both Hernandez brothers worked for AAA, and had past bad experiences with Esquivel during which he claimed to be a SEAL.
Flavio is quoted by both the Miami Herald and the Daily Mail, but neither evidently contacted the surviving Hernandez brother directly. The reason could be because he was told by the police not to talk to the media due to the ongoing investigation. For the sake of thoroughness, both papers should have at least indicated an attempt to make direct contact with the brother, or the reason such contact failed.
