Mark Tarbox; phony SEAL

| July 24, 2017

This fellow, Mark Ellis Tarbox, has been parading around Mount Pleasant, North Carolina dressed like this for the last several years. Here’s the latest photo of him attending his church in his weekly parade;

We’ve been looking for him for years since this picture hit the internet a few years ago;

Well, Don Shipley says that he’s not a SEAL and that Tarbox is probably hoping that someone mistakes him for real SEAL the Legendary Captain Thomas Tarbox.

The Navy remembers their brief time with Mark Tarbox;

He spent 48 weeks in the Navy and left as a Seaman Recruit (in the grade of E-1). He had a longer career as a guest of the State of Florida;

I bet they liked “Tarbox” in prison.

HMCS(FMF) ret

And I’m guessing that Tarbox liked himself some cockmeat sammiches and ghey whey at the BTJT Deli (Home of the WORLD FAMOUS cockmeat sammich).

JimV

Mental for sure.

Green Thumb

I remember this turd.

I wear my poser uniform to church.

That’s the ticket.

Ain’t no phony like an old church-going phony.

They should keep this dude away from kids.

Ex-PH2

Is there anything he hasn’t stolen?

Am pretty sure this is him, where he claimed to be a retired Navy SEAL and a Vietnam War Navy Veteran:

https://www.medic911.com/survivor-stories/mark-tarbox

“Medic recently celebrated another awesome cardiac save on Friday, September 14th, 2012 with a a patient reunion at Reedy Creek Park in Charlotte.

Mark Tarbox, a retired Navy seal, collapsed while walking with his wife in the park on July 19th. During that same day, the Professional Disc Golf Association’s World Championship was also taking place in the park. A group of golfers, which included a paramedic and a physician, rushed to help Mr. Tarbox and initiated CPR until first responders and the Medic crew arrived.”

You can find his picture with the medics on this page:

https://www.medic911.com/survivor-stories

And the Charlotte Observer did a story on him having his heart attack in 2012:

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/community/university-city/article9082919.html:

“Mark and Judy Tarbox often walk and jog the scenic trails of Reedy Creek Park to stay fit. Like many of the park’s features, the baskets and tee pads of the 18-hole disc-golf course they often pass mostly blend into the scenery.

But the heroic acts of emergency medical personnel and some people playing in the Professional Disc Golf Association’s World Championship tournament July 19 will forever be fondly engrained in the minds of the Tarboxes….”

“Tarbox, a Vietnam War Navy veteran, says he will spend the time “trusting in God” and communicating with the Veterans Administration about getting his medical bills paid. He looks forward to a time when he might get to thank the disc golfers who rushed to his aid.”

He also got in trouble in 2013 and was charged with a felony, which got reduced to a Misdemenor:

Google is his best friend.

I only believe one part of this paragraph is true, and that is when he intends to bilk taxpayers.

MamaNuke

Even his picture is abt him instead of the medic who saved him. If I ever run across him in my daily travels I may cash in my crazy certificate. I spent little time in, accomplished little due to a horrible situation, came out with little to nothing and will proudly state just that.

Combat Historian

Total. Fucking. Loser.

Green Thumb

Simple, elegant, to the point and true.

Well-stated.

A Proud Infidel®™

Cocksucker.

Sandman

He found Jesus, and a Navy SEAL career in prison, I guess you could say it was a two-fer.

1610desig

He found an illegal named Jesus attached to his wrinkly old butt

1610desig

definitely comes of as looking “not right” but he could have hit the prison weight room a little more to help fill out those CNTs ….guess he thought gobbling down manshakes on his knees in the shower would do the trick…embarrassing…at least pose with a SEAL body or swap out that trident for that Information Dominance (whatever it is) geek pin…

A Proud Infidel®™

I wonder how many times Bubba, Thor and company made him bend over and pick up the soap?

Cocksucker.

Fjardeson

Boom!
Shack.

Stacy0311

Bubba, Thor and the rest save time these days.
Get him soap on a rope and have him wear around his ankle

Jay

Good grief…why is it always the ass hats that steal ALL the valor? Made it less than a year but rocketed up to LCDR and SEAL?

Bobo

According to his ribbons, he managed to make it to Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, and Iraq. You’d think that, with 30+ years of service and all of that combat time as a SEAL, he’d have been pushed beyond O4 and have more than one CAR and one BSM (although it looks like he did manage to pin a “V” on the BSM).

Before I retired, I never considered wearing a uniform to church, much less post retirement.

USMCMSgt (Ret)

Yep.

And it appears he only has “3” Sea Service Deployment Ribbons.

(The Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal is senior to the CAR, so he fucked that up too).

Silentium Est Aureum

I noticed that as well. 25 years in, give or take, and never above zone or a 3X non-select? Yeah, no.

TheCloser

He was promoted once in forty years, but twice in the last four. He’s getting the system figured out.

Skippy

What is it about Florida????

Silentium Est Aureum

He went to jail in FL, in NC now.

Then again, NC also has the Round Ranger, so there’s that, too.

RCAF_Chairborne

Ok…. Legit Question

Do bona fide US servicemembers attend church in their uniforms? With the ecception of Worship Parade on Sundays?

Silentium Est Aureum

Other than on base? No. And even then, not after I got civvies privileges.

John Robert Mallernee

For my first few years as a soldier in the United States Army, I always attended church wearing my Class “A” dress green uniform, or my Class “B” khaki uniform.

Of course, when I was in the old Republic of Viet Nam, I wore my jungle fatigues to church, just as everybody else did, for where I was, khaki uniforms and civilian clothing weren’t allowed, and depending on where I was, I also took my weapon and web gear with me.

In Australia on R&R, I bought a suit, which I wore to church, but when I returned to Viet Nam, I sent the suit home to my folks, and my father began wearing it.

Then, when I was stationed in Korea, I bought my first tailor-made suit, and from then on, that’s what I wore to church.

Today, as an elderly veteran, whenever I’m able to leave my apartment and make it to church, I wear a regular civilian three-piece Sunday-go-to-meetin’ suit, with my miniature riband rack on the lapel.

Jay

The man be HANDSOME! What is that, Spec 5?

Wife and I took a retirement cruise last month. I wore a nice 3 piece and mini-medals to the Captain’s dinner. I felt quite distinguished.

Ret_25X

Wore a uniform to church in IZ and AF but only two times in CONUS…wedding (at the HH6’s request) and for a Veteran’s Day thing at my parent’s church to honor my dad.

Sj

There is a MAJ that regularly attends Sat Mass with his family in whatever fatigues are called these days. I’m 100% sure he is Guard just getting off duty. I like seeing that.

Eden

I attended church in my ACUs recently, but I was just coming back from duty and didn’t have time to go home first and change. I don’t understand why anyone would routinely wear a uniform to church unless they’re on duty or deployed.

Martinjmpr

I’ll confess (see waht I did there? 😉 ) to having only gone to military churches a few times (or for the occasional wedding) but for regular church services I don’t recall ever seeing anybody wear a uniform, on-post or off.

(Obviously, this doesn’t apply to situations like basic training where recruits and cadre would normally attend in the duty uniform – fatigues or BDU’s in my day – nor would it obviously apply to a church service in the field or some other deployed location. What I’m referring to here are soldiers who are in garrison or in the civilian community and who obviously have access to other “church clothes.”)

In fact, I’m not sure of the customs any more but I would regard attending church in class A or B uniform – even on-post or base – to be rather distasteful since almost nobody else would be wearing a uniform and the prime function of being in church in uniform would be to draw attention to oneself.

Furthermore, anyone of “rank” (senior officer or NCO) wearing a class A or B uniform in church could be thought of as flaunting their rank, which again is something that ought not to be going on in church, at least in the opinion of this admitted non-church goer. 😉

Or maybe I’m wrong and church members on military installations do wear their service (dress) uniforms to church – those who are church goers can set me straight on this, I just don’t ever remember seeing it or hearing about it.

Medic09

Well, you explained everything with “the prime function of being in church in uniform would be to draw attention to oneself.”

Martinjmpr

Exactly my point. Are we all not equal before God?

Martinjmpr

If you’re in church to say “LOOK AT ME!” and to glorify yourself, it seems to me you’re missing the whole point of church.

USMCMSgt (Ret)

Similar sentiments here.

The ONLY time I ever wore a uniform to church (on-or off base) was for a military funeral.

A Proud Infidel®™

Ditto that and at one wedding, but what’s the difference?

Bobo

Back in the day I used to attend church at MCB Quantico. All of the attendees were in civilian clothes.

David

Seems to me the deal was that if you were in uniform, unless for some operational reason were required to wear a work uniform, it was encouraged to wear class A/B if you weren’t in civvies. The few Christmas services I attended were mostly folks in civvies except for folks setting examples like unit or post commanders.

rgr769

The only time I ever went to church in the military was for memorial services for KIA’s and people killed in training accidents. I can’t imagine even thinking about going to church when I was on R&R (more aptly known as I&I). And no, I am not an atheist

Claw

Whoop. There it is. I knew in my heart that there had to be another troop out there that knows that R&R is actually I&I.

R&R is when you go to Hawaii to meet up with the wife and kids.

I&I is for when you went to Bangkok for your mid-tour.

Thanks for the reminder, Sir.

rgr769

That’s where we all learned the lovely bar girls would ‘ruv you ‘rong time or until your money ran out. After I&I in Taiwan, I did my 7 day leave in Sydney, where the women practically paid you to bed them. If a GI couldn’t get laid for drinks and maybe dinner there, then he was so unattractive he was going to have to go somewhere else and pay for it. Hawaii was strictly for the married guys to meet their wives for R&R. If you were single and wanted some round-eye, Sydney was the place to go.

A Proud Infidel®™

When I did Korea I never met a bar girl that wouldn’t ‘rove you down to your last dollar and grab the next guy coming in the door!

Jay

The only time I’ve seen uniforms at my church service were the Veteran’s Day service, which was requested by the senior pastor (former Naval officer). It was a nice TYFYS thing they did.

Medic09

Semen Recruit. Does that mean that even his conception was a fail?

Mark Lauer

This guy makes the name Tarbox sound dirty.

Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.

A Proud Infidel®™

Maybe he should be forced to change his name to “Tarhole”?

A Proud Infidel®™

He served from 1974 to 1975, one really had to screw the pooch to get kicked out back then!

UpNorth

Well, then, the Tarbox excels at something.

rgr769

I loath these lying effing POSer bitches even more than progtards. Let’s hope someday they reap the full public ridicule they so richly deserve.

ALVO

I am going to extend a hearty FAHQUUUUUUE to this poseur do jour. May the front bumper of a city bus find you looking the wrong way crossing the street.
