Jim Calhoun; fakery costs WO2 his job
Kevin sends us a link from the Army Times “Warrant officer separated after claiming unearned rank, badges” (I guess I don’t have access to the Times, because I can’t find the link, maybe you guys with a subscription can find it – it’s scheduled for the July 21, 2014 edition) about CWO2 Jim Calhoun who pissed off readers and the Army Times when he claimed that in spite of regulations to the contrary, he was still rolling his sleeves up (yeah, a real hot issue in the realm of national defense). Oh, yeah, of course he claimed awards that he didn’t earn.
Calhoun told Army Times last month that he was a Reserve chief warrant 3 working with Special Operations Command. Calhoun, 52, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, said he was a reservist on detached duty with Spec Ops with plans to exit service in October. His comments were part of a June 30 story with the headline “This CW3 is still rolling.”
Calhoun had initially answered a call from Army Times when the publication asked readers for feed back about whether soldiers should be allowed to roll sleeves in their Army Combat Uniform, Calhoun claimed to be rolling the sleeves of his uniform, despite the rule against it.
Well, the truth of the story is that he was actually a CWO2 and he had been separated from the reserves for wearing awards that he didn’t earn. And, oh, by the way, he wasn’t ever working with Special Operations.
The administrative elimination board found Calhoun wrongly wore the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3, and unspecified “unauthorized” badges and ribbons, according to the documentation, which included Calhoun’s discharge papers, a personnel memorandum authorizing his separation and the findings and recommendations of the board.
The board also found he submitted a falsified DD 214 in 2008 before returning to service and went AWOL nine moths later; he had falsified a mobilization order as well.
The board also found Calhoun failed a qualification course for the UH-60 Black Hawk, according to Army records. He was a UH-l pilot. It cleared him of allegations of conduct unbecoming an officer and failure to maintain a valid security clearance.
Reminiscent of a certain phony lawyer in Oregon who is about to have a bad day, Calhoun likes to tell folks about the rank he never earned;
In Calhoun’s voicemail, he still refers to himself as a CW3.
“Hi. You’ve reached Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jim Calhoun;” his message stated as of July 11.”I’m out flying, or in a meeting or out making the world a safer place. Your call is very important to me, so please leave your name and number and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Have a great day.”
It really is a disease. I don’t know if it’s treatable, but it’s certainly identifiable with recognizable behavior patterns.
Category: Phony soldiers
This guy was just one fucked up individual. Can’t maintain a clearance, falsifying documents. Lucky he was reserves, probably wouldn’t have pulled that shit on AD. He must have thought the reserves were idiots who don’t do any checking.
He really just does not give a damn if he is still calling himself a CW3 on messages despite articles being out on him.
C2Show: don’t bet the farm that “he wouldn’t have pulled that sh!t on AD”, amigo.

Don’t forget Larry Marquez
Excellent points, Hondo & Jonn. Never expected a CWO to embellish and lie like this much and to continue doing it. But anything is possible in this world.
Actually all his bull shit started while he was on active duty.
So I’m guessing the Jump wings and Air Assault wings are probably bogus. Well it looks like Dope on a Rope wings, cant see them clear enough. Ya I can talk shit as I have both !
“Reminiscent of a certain phony lawyer in Oregon who is about to have a bad day”
Anyone wanna bet on how long it takes before this is posted as the latest TAH “death threat” on Bernath’s crappy website?
Already is. John Does number 61-100 notified. Sort of.
Rustle, rustle.
You forgot “OVER”.
SHH! You just gave away the TAH super sekrit squir-ell pass code!
“rustle rustle, OVER!”
Uh oh…
What happens when we don’t use the pass code ???
Is that like an Article 15 or something ???
I got one of those when I was in…
Hey! That’s MY line!
*Rustle Rustle*
*Rustle Rustle*
OVER!
Every once and a long while someone actually mans up. Maybe he can follow this lead. https://www.facebook.com/marcacetta
Big sky just showed up in taif Saudi Arabia, I’m just a rivet puncher but I can read and smell BS
Any advice? He doesn’t know WE KNOW and have read all these blogs, he is still spinning some funky shit….
Wow… just a big bag of WTF….
Mental issues seem to be the common thread that ties these shitbags together.
To quote GySgt Hartman from ‘Full Metal Jacket’, “It looks to me like the best part of you ran down the crack of your mama’s ass and ended up as a brown stain on the mattress.”
I’m not saying anything, I’m just saying…..
I’ll bet he was awarded a Silver Cross, too.
And maybe his CW3 was “honorary”, too . . . .
I’m setting my money on the prestigious bronze heart.
I think that the Silver Cross falls right between the Army Service Ribbon and the MFO Medal.
It’s very prestigious.
In this case, I think it’s next to his LSoS-MFAH medal.
A Right Cross may be in order.
Just saying…
You are not an Honorary Chief
PettyWarrant Officer 3 and you never will be.😀
I see what you did there… LMAO! Maybe they could go flying together sometime.
As long as someone checks the fuel gauge….
Turd.
I’m starting a new TAH meme for myself like to GT…
“Douche bag”
Sounds like a product of USACAPOC!
Nitwit.
The sleeves in the pics, below the elbow? That’s what the druggies used to do in an effort to hide their track marks. Show up to formation with sleeves like that and the next stop was a UA. And then CDAAC. And then the street.
Douchebag can’t even roll his sleeves right… done Army BDU style, the bottom of the cuff is the bottom corner of the ACU sleeve pocket.
My BDU rolled sleeves were usually a little rough but good enough to pass muster – but his aren’t even close.
But he looks so cool with them like that and his hat and everything. He is ready to get down and rumble.
On behalf of my deceased father, I am more than a little offended by this clown. He got the WO bars the old fashioned, and very difficult, way – by serving as a lowly enlisted puke for about a decade and a half, then attending the War College after WWII had broken out but before official US involvement. He was there for Pearl Harbor.
So, for all those WO’s who are now gone, HOW DARE YOU sully their memories, you worthless piece of slime, Calhoun. You have earned whatever misfortune finds you, idiot.
Well said.
My late friend Dale liked cats. He was also a CW3 (CW4 select who opted to retire as scheduled and approved vice withdrawing his retirement and extending to accept the promotion).
Since Dale can no longer speak for himself, Calhoun, this is on his behalf:
What a dickbutt.
Here’s his Facebook page. He claims to be working as a attack helicopter pilot for a PMC. He also claims to be a DS veteran. he says he got out in 1992 and was recalled in 2008. Didn’t the Army have enough whirlybird drivers that they had to recall a guy who’d been out for 16 years? The smell of bullshit is strong.

This maggot needs a warm cup of soup and a hearty handshake.
He should have pulled a bergdahl…. deserted, got his buddies killed, had his folks meet in the rose garden with the president, returned with promotions, back pay and a new duty assignment.
Now that’s bullshit.
agree……and lets throw in an audie murphy induction!!
Yeah … Phony lawyer had a bad day.
In legal terms I think it is called a “really, really, really incredibly, really, really bad day”.
But I am not a lawyer so I don’t know if that really is a legal term.
What I do know is I have a “really, really, really incredibly, really, really outstanding, well respected, prominant and talented lawyer”.
Stay thirsty my friends.
Over.
I see what you did there 🙂
I wondered why he and DullASS have been so quiet of late.
Awwwww…. Are you saying someone in the PacNW was rebuffed, rebutted and repelled, Master Chief?
Will there be an after action report?
Were squirrels flying from rectums?
Will bushes be able to rustle in peace?
Can we finally clean the rust off these chainsaws?
Is there a sudden run on catheters?
Did chickenclowns cometh from the sky?
I think so. I see a large plume of cigar smoke on the horizon and the sweet smell of rum is in the air.
To the genuine CPO’s, I humbly stand in awe of your greatness, tenacity, and power.
At the request of my really, really good attorney, I have been asked not to comment on the really, really bad lawyer who could not find his way to court today on a motion he filed.
Nah … Only kidding, my lawyer did not say that.
What is important is I was challenged and I have taken that challenge on with vigor and support from the CPO Mess and other concerned parties (very long list).
The challenger, however is absent!
Seattle is outstanding.
Flying out of Seattle Thursday afternnon to Norfolk, VA.
I wonder what Chief Queef here thinks of the unemployment line?
my exact same thoughts!!!
Lurch reacts to this story:
I have been scammed This bloody guy and I stupidly lost almost $4,000.00 Australian Dollars because I believed in all his promises.
But I’m going to find him wherever he is.
I just recently met this man, he seems so sweet…but my gut made me look him up.
So he really isn’t in the military any longer? He is very charming…I guess I should be thankful for all of you. I was about to fall for all of his B.S.
Lives in Saint Petersburg, Florida area.
Good luck!!
Aussie girl Nina, I got scammed too for about the same as you. But its not him who’s doing the scamming. It a well organized out fit. My mate got done by a women in the same scam he was done for over $30,000.00.
