Robert David Miller; Another Beirut Marine poser

From Scotty comes Robert David Miller who claims that he was injured in the Beirut bombing in 1983, and he’s now suffering from injuries he sustained in that tragic event. While he may have injuries, they didn’t come from him being present.
In this post, his advocate says that the VA won’t help him because Beirut didn’t occur during a “non-war period” and we all know that’s bullshit. This person also says that he needs a $20,000 wheelchair. I’d like to see a $20,000 wheelchair. I just bought my own power wheel chair for $1600, so I have no idea what kind of whistles and bells a $20,000 wheelchair would have on it.

In this post we discover that Robert was awarded a Purple Heart and a “Medal of Valor” whatever that is;

There’s no Purple Heart in his FOIA either;

He was in the Marine Corps Reserves during the Beirut thing, and I can’t find any reserve units that deployed to Beirut, and while I sympathize with his injuries, he should come clean about how he was injured instead of trying to play the injured war hero. While there are shortcomings in the VA and their treatment program, one of those shortcomings is not refusing to treat people due to time periods.
Category: Phony soldiers
I believe that’s called an F-150 wheelchair, Jonn. You think he and Blake can get together and swap stories about places they never went, and suck each other’s toes for shits and giggles?
Maybe its an all-terrain wheelchair with Leopard tank tracks, GPS navigation, gun racks, and cup holders. That A-TACS shrink-wrap camo pattern ain’t cheap.
I’ll go with that NH Sparky.
Sounds to me like a USMC Reservist who got banged up and got discharged due to physical disability.
If his SC disability has worsened, he may now need a wheelchair, and be due a higher disability rating from the VA.
However, that’s damn well not justification to lie about having been in combat – or having a Purple Heart.
LSoS? Yeah – LSoS.
Well, since we all know that your chair is encrusted with rhinestones, his must be one of those that are covered in synthetic fake jewels like CZs and Swaorvski crystals.
When you lie to the VA about how your injuries were incurred it could cost you more than restitution if they pay you a dime for it…
it is bad enough how badly backed up the VA Claims process is without individuals like this clogging it up with lies about combat injuries that never happened!
The images of the two PDF’ed DD-214s are so small I could not really read them; is there any info on them or anywhere else that indicates that Miller’s injury/disability is even service-connected?
Your state of health is not usually documented on your DD214. you can make assumptions by the length of service ( short enlistment), assignment to a hospital as a patient or being awarded a purple heart that someone had an injury.
Agreed, but he obviously did not receive the PH, and there was no documentation I saw about him being assigned as a patient to a mil hospital in any of the documents I saw, hence the question…
One of the Marines who died that day was the brother of a young lady I held in high regard. To pose as someone there that day? Fuck yourself with a chainsaw. Sideways.
Lmao@ making shooting Sharpshooter a big deal… Anyways, if this guy is really lying about all that I have no sympathy for him.
I wonder if he consulted with Bill Blake?
Maybe SONOFABLAKE would be a good nickname for him/it?
I know what the “Medal Of Valor” is. Just got one upon discharge from the hospital the other day. Over the “Foley Catheter Incident”, That’s what their calling it now, records sealed of course.
I squirm uncomfortably everytime I think of that story Sparks. Please keep your sealed records sealed.
Roger that RM3(SS)
Sooooo, Sparks, question regarding that male enhancement you recently had added. Did you get the Funbeam screw master? Or did you get the Funbeam screw master Turbo 1
Just askin
I wasn’t a Marine, but you’d think that someone who was a “Marksmanship instructor” would have to shoot expert at least. But what do I know….
I served 26 years in the Army (active duty and reserve) as a 13A. I am 100% SCD thanks to ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The VA gave me a wheelchair that costs at least $20k.
I’m happy to give this fake-fuck, slack-jawed, scrotum-nosed, leg motherfucker my cool chair…and the ALS. Otherwise, fuck off you fake jitbag.
The VA is hard enough to navigate. We don’t need losers like you clogging up the works with fake claims.
These guys really put me in a high state of pisstivity.
Mind if I borrow that most excellent word, pissitivity?
Feel free. I got it from my Drill Sergeant. He used it a lot around me, lol.
He must be Blake’s brother/cousin, knowhutimean?
Combat Historian: one of the DD214s posted at Scotty’s site (the one that’s really blurred) – assuming it’s legit – seems to say he was rated as 10% disabled when he was discharged. Hence my guess of a medical discharge.
What the VA rated him – if they ever did – may be different. The Army’s disability rating and the VA’s can be (and sometimes are) different for an individual.
The DD214 that said he received his 10% rating under VA code 5299/5003, which suggests an orthopedic condition involving one major joint. Could be just about anything – a bum knee, shoulder, hip, etc. Could even be a back, I think. Could an orthopedic condition that was worth only 10% back in the day, worsen to the point that he is now wheelchair-bound becuase of it?
And that, my friend, is a question for Commander Phil Monkress at All Points Logistics.
LOL! Indeed!
Always a man with the right word handy! Amazing how much scammery becomes understandable (if not forgivable) when connected with the magic name MONKRESS.
“Could an orthopedic condition that was worth only 10% back in the day, worsen to the point that he is now wheelchair-bound becuase of it?”
______________________
Yes, it could, because that’s what I’m currently dealing with.
Back in the ‘Seventies, the VA awarded me a ten percent service connection for a minor back injury I incurred shortly prior to my Honorable Discharge from the United States Army.
Today, as a resident of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, I am totally disabled, due to progressively worsening spinal damage, and the VA issued me a wheelchair that I avoid using as much as possible, while taking LOTS of medication prescribed for pain.
The VA says the damage to my spine is too great, and nothing can be done for me.
I’m sorry to hear that, John. Thanks for the response. So, it’s possible that Miller could be truthful about his disability, although not necessarily about how he got it.
His story was yanked from “DigitalJournal”… I wonder why that is? Cannot find his “gofundme page” either that was linked in the reposting of his “story” from Digitaljournal.
I wonder if his “power of attorney” has anything else she would like to share about Robert David Miller?
Maybe he’s using Daniel A. Bernath for a lawer?
Low blow! And I like it…*cackle*!
In that case, he has a fool for a lawyer and Bernastyass has a fool for a client. Just about perfect for each other.
Gulf Storm???? Gulf war/Desert Storm perhaps? he was discharged in ’85.
No, that was Gulf Storm. Robert David Miller assaulted the beach at Panama City during spring break and was run over by a gang of bikini clad college girls playing beach volleyball. Because he was wearing a Marine Corps speedo, dumbass Miller thought he’d incurred a service connected disability.
Wasn’t Desert Shield late ’90 and Desert Storm ’91? He was out for 6 years by then.
He could have a legitimate service related condition that got progressively worse until he was totally disabled. That certainly was my case. I retired with 20%, “shit the bed” 11 years later and was upped to 100%.
It took me 23 months to get upgraded, but even with all that frustration I never tried to garner sympathy or favoritism by claiming I suffered a combat injury. This guy is trying to “cut the line” at the VA or run a scam to get money from sympathetic folks. Maybe both.
Unless he was Medically Discharged from Service, a SCD from the VA wouldn’t be on his DD-214.
I can’t see his DD-214 so, forgive me if I am not reading this correctly.
Even if he was medically discharged, his current problem night not be related to his SCD.
I’m currently (as in right this very second) sitting in a “Permobil Street” power wheelchair. It cost 14k (yes that’s 14,000 US Dollars) for the basic model (with the addition of reclining seat, but no other “bells and whistles,” or diamond encrusted anything)that I received in 2003.
I’ve been due for a new wheelchair through the VA for several years, but have been putting it off. Today, to get the exact same wheelchair base model (without the reclining seat, which I no longer need) will be roughly 20k.
No offense Jonn, but 1,600 for whatever it was you purchased just won’t cut it for me, or a lot of other people.
$1600 for a manual wheelchair is about right. I think my latest was around $2300. But I wanted something a bit heavier duty. I’m damned hard on my chair. Had to fix it in DC not long ago after jumping those tall curbs.
Sadly I can’t use a manual. I have extremely limited use, strength, and dexterity of the hands and arms.
As a side note: For those of you interested, the Permobil Street is no longer called the Permobil Street. (Sad Face) it’s now called the Permobil C350, with the Corpus 3G seating system.
I DO NOT like the new three spoke wheels.
I much prefer the older design with five spoke wheels. I know the wheels and tires are the same size. So it’s my hope I can transplant my five spoke wheels from the old chair to the new chair … when I finally get it.
The chair itself (meaning mine, the one I currently own) is a beast. It’s a heavy chair, but extremely quick and exceptionally agile.
Over the last 10 years I have put it through it’s paces. Rode it hard and put it to bed wet … so to speak. Rubber tires and innertubes wear out (inner tubes replaced at the rate of one a year, and the actualy tires all four every two to three years.)
The only times it’s failed me has been due to circumstances beyond the limits of the chair. Like an automatic door slamming shut on me and cutting a power wire in half.
Sadly after ten years of hard abuse it’s finally starting to give up the ghost. Little things are starting to give, and that leads to bigger part failures. So it’s time (and I’ve been saying this in the comments here for about two years) for me to get up off my ass and get to the VA for a new one.
He could have well had gotten out with a 10% rating then had shit go South from there. Shit, I’ll even grant that it ave haven gotten so bad he needs a motorized chair to get around. But if he thinks that trying to grt points by claiming to be wounded in Beruit to get leverage with the VA or con people out of funds is kosher he is a LSOS.
The particular VA code he has indicated Arthritis, most likely his knee. This is the medical condition that got him separated.
