Teens beat Okinawa vet (UPDATED)
I awoke to about twenty tips to this story this morning, so I’m guessing that you want to discuss it. An 89-year-old veteran who was wounded at the battle for Okinawa, Delbert Belton, was randomly beaten by two teens in a parking lot near Spokane, WA. From KXLY;
Witnesses say Belton was in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge at 6410 N. Lidgerwood, adjacent to the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, around 8 p.m. Wednesday when the two male suspects attacked him as he was about to head inside to play pool.
Police responded with K-9s to track the suspects’ scent but were not able to locate them.
“It does appear random. He was in the parking lot, it appears he was assaulted in the parking lot and there was no indication that he would have known these people prior to the assault,” Spokane Police Major Crimes Detective Lieutenant Mark Griffiths said.
Belton died from his injuries Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
UPDATES: CNN says a suspect has been arrested;
A juvenile has been arrested by Spokane police in connection with the beating death of an 88-year-old World War II veteran this week, police said Friday.
The male suspect has been charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree murder.

I want to add that, when I see all the black-on-black crime in the south end of Chicago, especially when kids are shot playing in a park or putting their bikes away, or just sitting on their front steps, and the kids AND the shooters are both black, I don’t have a whole lot of sympathy for any black criminals at all.
@42: Of course we would be just as angry, no matter what the color of the victim. However, what is being pointed out is the hypocrisy of the left and POTUS. He couldn’t get to the podium fast enough to make his thoughts known when it came to Skip Gates or Trayvon Martin, but doesn’t have the time of day when it’s not a white on black thing. His actions show exactly where his loyalties are.

If these guys are under 18 they will most likely plead down to second degree homicide or manslaughter and locked up until they turn 21. Washington is infamous for slapping the wrists of teenage murderers.(Google Tuba man) I can only hope that they are tried as adults and not allowed to plead the charges down. The outcome of this savage act will depend on the size of the balls on the prosecutor. We need to keep up the pressure on the district attorney to do the right thing. We have a law that enhances any penalty on crimes against the elderly and this is a perfect time to use it. It makes me sick when these savages attack and kill old weak people. Cowards, gutless cowards. They need to be fed to the pigs, alive.
I’d say if they get to plea down and tried as minors the pictures and names should be released when they are 21 and leave, I’m sure there will be a lot of ppl wanting to have a nice long chat with them, some wall to wall counseling, etc.

As soon as that piece of shit walks into the courtroom the judge needs to shoot him. It shouldn’t be a lethal hit either.
He then needs to be dragged out of the courtroom, bleeding and pleading for his worthless life, and strung up by his feet outside. The town should then come together and extinguish the life from yet another “victim” of the “turn your life around” generation through the most righteous and vicious beating the country has ever seen.
Nothing besides that is justice. Make an example out of ’em.

I do not give a hoot in hell about the victim’s or perpetrators’ race. Those factors are irrelevant.
An 88-year-old World War II vet bothering no one and going about his business peacefully was beaten to death in an apparent random killing. He was beaten to death by a couple of young punks who were either bored or looking for an easy mark. If proven guilty, the perps deserve to be hanged; to visit “Old Sparky”; or to get the needle. That’s all you need to know regarding justice for this case. All else is irrelevant.
What I do find disgusting is the obvious double standard here on the part of the press, most “civil rights” advocates, and (apparently) on the part of current POTUS and his Administration as well. That is inexcusable.

And I see something more sinister here than any of you are seeing: the flash mobs early in the spring this year, last summer and the year before that, were all made up of black kids who were in it for no other reason than to cause trouble. It’s getting worse downtown in Chicago with people being robbed in broad daylight on Michigan Avenue, which is one place where most people feel safe.
What happened to Chris Lane and to Delbert Belton are just the tip of the iceberg. They may be random acts now, but the increase in shootings and violent crimes in neighborhoods like Englewood is picking up, and moving out of those neighborhoods into more ‘civilized’ areas, and fueled by instant messaging like Twitter. If anything, these two most recent murders are merely a warning of something else, and we should all be paying attention to it.
Even if it’s illegal, the good people need to be ready to react to defend themselves. The police aren’t able — for whatever reason — to control the gang/mob violence. It’s time for the people to stop being sheep and to start culling the wolves that are walking around on two feet.

I have a multi-racial extended family. So I’m well aware that the culture, upbringing, and standards (or lack thereof) are what is responsible, not the skin color. But damned if some of the so-called “black leaders” make it real hard for me to give a shit about what happens to these little fuckstains, as well as the culture/system that spawned and perpetuates them.
Not quite sure how anyone could expect a positive result from a government subsidized breeding program of the least productive among us. This is what we get after multiple generations of rewarding negative behavior while giving no real life skills to the resulting offspring of that behavior.
Rather than excusing ignorance by labeling as racist all who question such destructive programs as welfare, how’s about taking a serious look at the statistics and trends which lead to an inescapable conclusion that the “war on poverty” has failed? Human nature really has not changed all that much in the past 50 years or so. We all need to be productive but need parents and mentors to train how to do it.
