Phony in the White House

| April 11, 2013

Today at about 2:10 pm Eastern Time (according to their public agenda) there will be a ceremony at the White House to honor Chaplain Emil J. Kapaun who will be awarded his long over due Medal of Honor. Unfortunately, also attending will be Jim Edward Ferris, the phony Korean War veteran who is the current president of the Korean War Veterans’ Association.

From Syracuse.com;

When President Barack Obama awards the Medal of Honor today to an Army chaplain killed in the Korean War, Jim Ferris of Clay will be among those invited to witness the ceremony.

Ferris, 81, president of the national Korean War Veterans Association, said his group was among those pushing for the nation’s highest military medal to be awarded posthumously to Father Emil J. Kapaun, a military chaplain who died as a prisoner of war 60 years ago.

Ferris will be joined by surviving Korean War veterans from around the nation at 2:10 p.m. to watch President Obama present the medal to the Catholic priest’s relatives for his “extraordinary heroism” during fighting in Unsan in 1950 and after his capture as a prisoner of war.

The Korean War Veterans Association was unwilling to do anything about Ferris when they met behind closed doors to discuss their courses of actions, and now they’re sullying the Medal of Honor ceremony by sending Ferris who has lied his whole life about his service in Korea. I’ve emailed my phone number to Ferris so we can talk about what I got wrong about his story, and I’ve had no phone calls or emails from him since he offered to get together and talk about the issue. But he has time to steal some valor in the White House.

Like I said in the initial post, he’s was fully qualified for his membership and position in the Association without telling lies and wearing medals he didn’t earn, so we have to assume that he’s only doing it for personal gratification. maybe so the 81-year-old can pick up chicks there in Syracuse.

Thanks to our reader in Clay, NY who called in this tip.

Couldn’t the Secret Service block him from attending?

All it would require is one (01) quick telephone call.

“…so we have to assume he’s only doing it for personal gratification,…”

There is no such thing as a small amount of rot in a tree.

B Woodman

I wouldn’t want to given ANY award under ANY circumstances by ANY one under this administration.

B Woodman

Besides, why are you limiting “Phony In the WH” to just Jim Edward Ferris, the phony Korean War veteran?

ChipNASA

Oh…reads headline…..then story……(Not Obama)….leaves thread…..

Twist

Were you going for a double entrada with that title?

This makes me want to wretch. If he had an ounce of personal integrity left, he would feign illness or fall down—anything not to be there. I am sure that Father Kapaun’s attitude would be different. But I’m no saint.

One of the men who rightly will be at the ceremony is a gentleman by the name of Mike Dowe. At the POW camp he was 1st Lt. Ray M. Dowe, Jr. In a story about Father Kapaun that appeared in the Saturday Evening Post on 16 December 1954, Lt. Mike recounted this to the article’s author:

“There were other men stealing, too, and some of them squirreled away stolen food to eat themselves. Father tossed his into the common pot. He never said a word to the men who hid and hoarded food. But, at night, after a successful foray, he’d say a prayer of thanks to God for providing food ‘which all can equally share.’ That seemed to shame them, and soon the private hoarding stopped.”

It is tempting to say that one guy present today (who should not be) would not have been shamed by that prayer.

CORRECTION TO CMT 7

The date of the Saturday Evening Post article (“The Man the Reds Couldn’t Conquer: The Ordeal of Chaplain Kapaun”) is 16 January 1954.

This makes me sick.

If its any consolation, he will not be the only fraud in the White House.

A very sad day indeed.

@10. Here’s hoping, Jonn. Ferris may have crossed each i and each t in becoming president of the Korean Veterans Association but that does not give him license to take as his own the selfless sacrifices and valor of those who fought in the Korean War.

Screw the phony, watch this vid. Will make you feel better.

I emailed Ferris yesterday asking him to remove himself from anything having to do with the KWVA in order to limit any backlash from his lies and to ensure the 60th Anniversary of the end of the war isn’t tainted. This is his response:

“Dear sir. I have asked the man that wrote the blog to meet with me to discuss this he has refused. I cannot place much credence in a man who accuses you of something then will not meet person to person to discuss it.

Jim Ferris”

You can email him, if you would like.

Guy refuses to step down, but also refuses to prove he isn’t lying about anything. As far as I am concerned, the KWVA could care less about any of this and it is game on in exposing them as poser lovers. They brought what comes next on themselves.

The straeming is up but the ceremony hasn’t begun yet. The pianist is playing nightclub music right now.

EdUSMCleg

Figures. He knows no one would make the trip. One would think a person in his position would at least make an attempt to clear this all up. YOU aren’t the one making up stories- he is. Rather than clearing it up, he tries to stall. This year (60th Anniversary) gives him a lot of exposure. Since he obviously did all this for the attention, there is no way in hell he will give it up. KWVA won’t do anything, either. Time to expose them all.

EdUSMCleg

@16- watching now. Thanks

USMCE8Ret

On a lighter note, I heard the Roman Catholic Church (Vatican) may consider Jim Ferris for sainthood.

On a more serious note, if KWVA doesn’t do anything to this turd and the senior leadership turn a blind eye, then they discredit everyone they represent and need to be exposed for harboring a phony.

EdUSMCleg

He just compared his grandparents to the MOH recipient…

THE SOB LIKENED HIS OWN FAMILY EXPERIENCE TO FATHER KAPAUN’S!Can he NEVER keep himself from being the center of attention!

Interested

You might want to read up on his National Legislative Liaison and then it all becomes clearer.

EdUSMCleg

Who is the NLL?

2/17 Air Cav

Hey, you, Slim! The word is “sneaked” not snuck. And Father Kapaun did not administer the sacraments in the POW camp. The commies took his stuff. He was forbidden from celebrating Mass. “Perhaps men of no faith.” You’re freakin ad-libbing now–wishing that it were so!

Oh psalm! I thought he was saying song.

Hanging tough. The nephew worked hard to keep it together. Good job!

Thanks for covering this. Never saw Ferret, thank goodness.

EdUSMCleg: please define “him” in your comment 20.

EdUSMCleg

Oh sorry- “him” in comment #20 was referring to the Pres.

Fiddlesticks. Got in too late watch this one, but really did not need to puke right now anyway.

May the family be blessed in spite of the messenger.

Mike

Seeing that we have a fake as our President, it doesn’t at all surprise me that the Korean War Vet Association allows a fake to be thier figure head? It’s the wold we live in.

Has any one contacted Steve Kiba PoW Korea to out the poser? Just curious. Steve is righteous and can raise fire from hell to bring down on the wannabe. (( Please delete this email after you read this John )) Contact Steve at: picot (at) truvista.net —————- November 4, 1978 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: While a prisoner of the Red Chinese during the Korean War, I saw over fifteen Caucasian prisoners. I saw these men from June of 1953 through the summer (June – July) of 1955. (My internment lasted from January 13, 1953 to August 4, 1955.) Most of the sightings were during the months of May through September 1953, with sporadic sightings at other times prior and after this period of time. These fifteen men are in addition to John T. Downey and Richard Fecteau with who our B-29 crew spent three weeks (December 7-28, 1954). One of the fifteen who I saw was a Lt. Paul Van Voohris. Lt. Van Voohris was on our B-29 as an instructor radar operator. I saw him on about 8 – 10 occasions over a 2-3 week period in late July and early August of 1953 — seven months after we were shot down. During our “trial” in October of 1954, the Chinks claimed that Lt. Van Voohris and Lt. Henry Weese were killed in the crash. In my early interrogations the Chinks told me that they had captured two of our crew as they hit the ground on the night we were shot down (January 12, 1953). they also boasted that they had captured thirteen of us. Of the eleven of us who were freed, none of us were captured on the night of January 12, 1953. I reported these sightings to our Air Force Intelligence, the CIA and the State Department upon my return to Freedom. Their reaction was one of indifference and I was admonished to forget not only the fifteen but also Downey and Fecteau. It was suggested the perhaps I had imagined that I had seen these men. Some time during my debriefings I was… Read more »
