Phony IVAW Ranger tossing medals at NATO

| May 18, 2012

Art sends us a link to a local CBS TV station article in Chicago in which they interview Graham Crumpner about why he’s tossing his medals at NATO this weekend;

“I wanted so badly to believe in the idea of America. I wanted to believe that every war we ever fought, we won; that we were always just; that we were always doing the right thing, and trying to help, and save, and protect,” said former Army Ranger Graham Clumpner, who was deployed twice to Afghanistan. “And I bought into it hook, line, and sinker.”

Clumpner was given a Global War on Terrorism Service Award for his service fighting against the Taliban.

He said he was proud to join the military, but grew disillusioned, and ashamed of how operations were carried out.

Yeah, well, now the local TV reporter, Marissa Bailey, can be ashamed, because I emailed our buddies at the Ranger Training Brigade and they don’t have any record of Graham Clumpner attending Ranger School and they said any time he spent in the 2d Battalion would have been extremely brief.

We got that 2nd Battalion thing from his IVAW profile, which he’s removed from the IVAW website, but the internet remembers;

Maybe him and Ward Reilly can get together and tell phony Ranger stories about things that never happened to them.

And, oh, by the way, Graham is another Matthis. According to this article, he avoided being recalled in 2008 and shopped around the VA for a doctor who would certify him for PTS and get him a discharge. So, yeah, when IVAW has someone representing them who’s not a derelict or a liar, let me know.

Clumpner’s defense: “Thought you meant RUMP Ranger.”

Ann

My hunch is immediately following this they all order nice and shiny replacements.

H1

Why do they all have to look like such soup sandwiches?
Want to gain a shred of credibility?
Clean up.

Greyhawk

Veterans Green Jobs, eh? Living on stimulus money, he is.

Beretverde

RLTW?

Beretverde

Meant to write PHONY RLTW!

Old Trooper

If he’s so interested in not being associated with the military, then get rid of your uniform garb as well as deny any VA payments or services, etc. Oh, wait, I’m sure you don’t want to go THAT far.

It’s interesting that the media is more interested in what these doorknobs are saying than NATO is. Love the street theater they provide.

OWB

Again – this is just soooo special. Well, assuming being a lazy, lying bum is special.

Tman

And once again everyone involved takes a ‘veteran’ claim at face value.

Sound familiar?

DR_BRETT

Thanks to you, Mr. Lilyea, for performing the REAL WORK necessary to uncover the LOW-LIFE FRAUD .

CI Roller Dude

Doesn’t anybody check on these people before writing something? I was on a “hiring team” where I worked before I retired. I googled everybody who was being interviewed for a high ranking job of the govt agency I worked for. I found all kins of stuff…then I was told “Oh, you can’t do that.”

DR_BRETT

From The CBS CHICAGO Report:
“There are at least 20 soldiers expected to give back their war medals on Sunday. Organizers said soldiers from every state will be at the ceremony, . . . ”

*sarcasm*:
Obviously, I missed the MSM (Mendacity Stream Media) reporting the Dictator Proclamation reducing the number of our Sovereign States — back to twenty .

Just Plain Jason

This shit really annoys the hell out of me because I may be batshit loony here and alloy my crazy obsession go every now and then. I may get off on a rant and act a fool, but I think it is something we all have done a couple times here and there. 1) if you guys met me in real life you would realize yes I am a smart ass and 90% of what I say is snarky bullshit. 2) I work my ass off at living with PTS and sometimes I screw up (yesterday I made an ass of myself). 3) even at my lowest when I have been screwed hard by the army and the govt I still would never do shit like this. 4) why lie? If you haven’t done shit…oh wait they don’t have people who have done shit.

OWB

@ #12 Can bums claim concurrent residency in multiple states? Or maybe they just mean that there will be hordes of bums there representing each of the states and that only the most special dozen of the bums will be involved in the great ribbon toss as a symbolic gesture on behalf of all us misfits.

Oh, who knows. If one of them told me that 2 + 2 = 4 I would doubt it to be true. Trying to figure out what they mean when they spew something forth is not frustrating at best.

DR_BRETT

@#14 Yes — certain Congress Critters do this,
or, they “forget” their Oath Of Office,
which includes, the Constitution’s requirement to reside in their State Of Representation .

Perhaps CBS CHICAGO meant by ” . . . every state . . . ” — state MENTAL ??

All these people throwing medals around… I need to invest in whatever companies sell medals.

Sorta makes me wonder what those fine veteran Rangers of the 75th Regiment think of this reject. Where’s Everson…

Ben

As I mentioned before, a book would be called for this situation.

I run into people all the time who think that these groups (IVAW, Vets for Peace, etc) are filled with legit vets. When I tell them that there are more than a few liars among them, they usually respond with the same question.

“Why would they lie?”

I have some plausible reasons which they always reject. But the point is that when the documentary evidence says that they’re full of crap, they are liars. The motive for lying is a different story entirely.

YO, Greyhawk! Nicely done, bro….Ben, there is such a book. It title is “To Set The Record Straight”, by Scott Swett. You may also go to http://www.wintersoldier.com/

Captain J

What amuses me is that you don’t hear about any of these sacks of excrement throwing silver stars, BSM w/V, or god-forbid the CMoH. Because all these chickenshit excuses for fair-weather soldiers have to toss is there “thanks for showing up” fruit salad. They know nothing about the meaning of sacrifice or the principle behind those little pieces of ribbon. And that rant only applies to the few who aren’t blantantly lying about their service to get some free facetime on a local news network desperate to kickstart their ratings.

Graham should perform genital mutilation on himself and throw that tiny clit away along with any medals he bought. He’s not even fit to be a pussy.

I recommend STOLEN VALOR, by B.G. Burkett and Glenna Whitley:

So was this guy even in a Ranger Battalion?

Ann

I don’t believe that objects are tarnished by their former owners so if they’re like new I say we gather them up and give them to real veterans. Then we can send IVAW thank you cards for their generous donations to the war effort.

Lobster

“Graham Clumpner served in the 75th Ranger Regiment from 2003-2007 and deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2005-2006. He was a grenadier and a driver. Graham was re-called to active duty with orders to Iraq in 2009. He refused.” From IVAW. There are a ton of references to him being a Ranger on a Google search. His FB is still up. What a tool.

Ann

Maybe he meant being the guy in the Ranger Rick costume?

Anonymous

So hard he has to buy someone else’s medals to throw back in front of the cameras.

He’s all over twitter under @turncoatveteran pics of him with his CIB and medals he never earned. Also some pics of him and the rest of the IVAW crew talking at local schools, calls it counter-recruitment. Telling war stories about the war he never attended lol why is this guy still telling his lies?

I actually served with this guy. He’s a good dude. Ya know since I’ve been out I don’t think I have come across a vet yet that doesn’t feed me some bullshit story I can shoot holes through. Par for the course.
