I really have a strong love/hate relationship with this group. On one hand I respect that while other people talk about what is going on in Afghanistan they are there and have been for quite a while. They are trying to help by talking to the population to give a connection to the people outside of Afghanistan. But that is where the respect ends.
On the other side they have managed to do nothing productive besides making feel good videos with such generic like “Why not love”. Think Bobby Whittenberg without the anger management issues. Todays videos are no exceptions.
To make matters worse and more insulting is that JTC has been working with people that have not only not using him as a way of finding out how to have a direct impact on Afghanistan with needed supplies and other items, but actively ignored it. Preferring to make stories about how nothing we are doing is working and indirectly giving press to the Taliban. Yes DC am talking to you on this one.
Stop making the risk that these people are taking in vain and get a program started to see that they are not just wasting their time and health.
Like now, yes you Rethink Afghanistan, get off your computer and do something about this.

All good points MR sporkmaster
Yeah, good unrealistic points.
I got a hold of DC today and spoke my peace about the same topics that I talked about here. With the exception of on random poster I think it went well.
Hey Sporkmaster…
Blessings to you… hope the summer is not making you sweat to much.
Listen pal, the guys and girls at Rethink Afghanistan have raised loads of money for Afghans. Attacking them is an undeserving move.
Your point is not a fair one. Its always good to ask, what is someones agenda.
However, that particular question should be targeted to the Mathis crowd. Not everyone who criticizes the Afghan project are Pinko Commies.
Some Critics of the just recognize a few realities.
1.) its the longest and most expensive war in the American History.
2.) There are screaming signs that COIN has really large limitations
Keep posting soldier. Your words always carry a punch. Like anything, there must be some push back.
Jake.
I have voiced my issues with Derrick Crowe or DC for short. But I do have to say that I assumed that Rethink Afghanistan was a much larger operation. Something equal to MoveOn.org. So I was wondering why Rethink Afghanistan was moving so slowly to support groups like Journey to Smiles. Now I understand why there is a delay.
Also considering that according to DC that the website for Rethink Afghanistan also changed and has not put up the stories about helping the people there. Also I follow the FaceBook update of Rethink Afghastan and they have yet to published any stories other then about how the Taliban are winning. So why would we think otherwise of this is all was see from this group?
I know that is true, my past dealings with DC should be proof of that. Also I never put out anything that I am not able or willing to defend and support.
